View 4 RepliesIs this application specific? I recently subscribed to Men's Fitness only to find out you have to have an internet connection to view the magazines. Even after you've downloaded them from the web. I planned on downloading a bunch of issues for a road trip but now it looks like I'll have to tether. Is this the case for most of the Newsstand magazines? If so, I'll have to reconsider purchasing them.

I have a PDF on a website, and I want to read it and take notes while I'm on a plane. So I'm sitting in the airport with free WiFi, and the plane is boarding. I want to download the PDF so I can continue to view it and take notes in the Notes app on the plane. Is this possible? Or do I need a computer (to download the PDF, then transfer it to the iPad via iTunes)?

I have an ipad2 and use Safari for my browser. I would like to have the ability to save web pages for offline viewing. I would like to be able to save an exact image of a web page for viewing offline. I tried this using Instapaper, however it compressed the page removing graphics, ect. Do I need an app to do this? Will Good Reader (or another app) do this and store the web page as a pdf? Having the ability to email these pages would be nice also.
View 2 RepliesIs there any app that will automatically instant sync (for later offline viewing) files I drop into a folder on my computer? Ie if I download a file on my computer and drop it in the folder and leave my house 10 mins later (without pressing sync or manually downloading the file to my iPad), I want to be able to access the file offline without Internet.

View 2 RepliesI've seen a number of apps for saving pages for offline viewing but I have a specific need - was wondering if anyone had a recommendation.I'd like to be able to save one of our sites (simple navigation) to local cache so that the site can be browsed offline, including video content played in a js player.

View 11 RepliesIs there any app out there that saves/downloads the entire webpage, including videos, for offline viewing. I am considering Offline Pages, because it says it does it, but I do not want to pay 5 bucks just to realize that it doesn't work for a particular type of video.

View 1 RepliesSo I started using Newsstand earlier today and is it just me or that magazines won't download in the background if I decide to use the browser? The minute I get out of the magazine app, everything stops. I don't want to sit there and wait because each magazine is like 650MB each so it'll take time even on a 15Mbit/sec connection. Even if I don't get out of the app, the download stops if the screen turns off. Any tips on what I can do to eliminate these quirks?
View 24 RepliesI'm having problems with downloading magazines. The first one I did it took forever and now I have been trying to download Glamour since yesterday' and am having to go page by page.
View 2 RepliesEven though I am signed it, it still thinks I need to buy them event though I have paid print subscriptions and have had no previous issues down loading. I have tried to sign out and sign back in, and it won't let me log back on, I get a grey background with "waiting white circle".Tech support had me re-set all settings, delete and apps and re-install, and they still don't work.He thought it might be an iTunes account issue, and to contact Express Lane.
View 2 RepliesI Purchased a digital magazine collection (2010 issues all in one file) from Interweavestore.com. I get an error message "download failed, safari cannot download this file". This is for six issues in a collection. I am able to download an individual issue that is not part of the collection From 2011 issue. I want these to download to my iPad 2, not my laptop.

View 2 RepliesI am traveling overseas and brought 6 movies with me. Turns out that is going to be woefully short of what I actually need. I have a large collection of movies on my home computer, and I can remotely connect to it from here to convert movies and put them either on an FTP site that I own or HTTP. My question is, is it possible to import a couple of those movies from external sites into the iPad for offline watching (when I am on a plane?)
