I have a Sony cybershot camera and unfortunately the memory stick doesn't fit in the SD card reader. Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent adapter that works? I can use the USB port but I'd rather download from the card and not the camera.

Can I plug a USB memory stick into an iPad and pull various things off of it?

All I did was use my Sandisk card reader and inserted the various types of media. All had a DCIM folder with .jpg's. Uploaded from all the cards.

I have an 8gb memory card (can get bigger if necessary) in a USB stick. I don't use a pc with my iPad but am waiting for the day it has all been wiped and says connect to iTunes, fingers crossed it does not! So am I able to install iTunes onto a memory stick and sync my iPad to it, but then at a later date move the same dongle to another pc and still sync, so therefore nothing is left on the host computer for instance if I did it at the library.
Can you think of a better way. I don't always get access to wifi and if I do it's another open network so not secure. I use 3G only and have not used cloud because I have no wifi access for long enough period of time.
I have an older Sony digital camera that uses a memory stick pro duo. I have the apple camera connection kit but my memory stick does not fit in it. What is the easiest way to download photos from it to my iPad?

Hey, first time post. Just joined the community. First time Apple owner.
My friend has an iPad with the camera connection kit and it works with his iPad and camera with his card which is a little bigger than mine.
I tried using my Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo 1gb but it would not come up on either device. Is this type of card not supported?
It seems to be the easiest way to transfer any kind of video file from usb memory stick to ipad. The best thing about this trick is: you don't need jailbreak.
First you need:
1) Apple Ipad camera connection kit (CCK)
2) USB memory stick (with no more than 4 Gb storage space)
3) Filebrowser on your Ipad (or other app that allows you to open and manage the photo library)
4) AVplayer on your Ipad (or other player that supports multiple video formats: avi, wmv, mp4, mkv etc.)
How it works
1) Create the folder DCIM on the USB drive
2) Insert the video file you want to copy into the folder DCIM on the USB drive
3) Rename the file as PICT0001 (next file must be PICT0002, and so on)
4) Insert the USB drive in CCK and then insert the CCK in Ipad
5) Ipad will automatically open the file in photo app
6) Import the video file in photo app; it appears there as blank white icon with "avi" on it
7) Now run filebrowser and open your photo library
8) Choose "imported", select the avi file and tap "open in", then select avplayer (or other player that supports this kind of files)
9) The video file appears in "inbox" folder of avplayer: now you can rename it as you wish, play or move it to 'documents" folder
10) Now you can remove the original file from photo library.
How can I transfer photos from a memory stick pro duo (from a Sony cyber shot camera) to my iPad? When I try to connect the camera via the Cable and the camera connection kit), I get a "USB device not supported" message. Also, the memory stick doesn't fit in the sd card connector.

Traveling to Scotland for two weeks. Would like to transfer video from Sony HDR-CX110 HandyCam directly to iPad.
Think I've read that the Sony HandyCam does not allow easy transfer to iMac or iPad. We won't be taking a laptop, so transferring video throughout the trip is not an option.
I just bought an adaptor from an Apple store, which plugs into the charger slot and it has a USB socket. I am trying to upload photos from a memory stick (DataTraveler 102). When I plug it in, I get an error message which says "DataTraveler 102: The connected device requires too much power".
How can I upload those photos onto the iPad?
Usb stick that works with lightning to usb camera adapter? I bought a USB lightning camera adapter with the hopes of using USB sticks with my jailbroken ipad 4. However, most of my USB sticks get the too much power error. The only one I've tested that works is only 8gb and physically very large. Any specific models that work? I'd prefer something with decent capacity but very compact.

Does anyone successfully use the USB camera connection kit to keep movies on? I've got a 16GB iPad and I think the CCK would be a good way to be able to take more films around with me.
Some initial testing shows it works well enough, but my USB stick draws too much power to be used without a hub!
