I had search the whole community and tried the method to change my backup location to my external hard disk, but it still failed on me.I had created a junction and followed each step listed down but I could not identify any changes. For instance, when i connect my ipad to itune, the backup will still stored in my C drive rather than my external drive (H drive).

View 3 RepliesI just purchased an Ipad-3 (will arrive in a week or two). I'm retiring my Macbook to home use and will be taking my Ipad with me traveling where there is no internet connection ( on a sailboat offshore ). I always make a bootable backup my Macbook on an external firewire hard drive using SuperDuper and keep it with me in case somethings happens to my computer.
I understand that you can access your computer remotely using a program like 'PocketCloud Remote Desktop'. The description says that I can access and use programs as if it was the Macbook only remotely.
can I take my bootable external hard drive, attach it to the Ipad-3 and run a program like 'Iweb' saving it back to the external drive, then disconnect the drive and keep it safe.
I was going to purchase a MacAir but decided on the Ipad-3 instead. Of course I will always have my Macbook or other Apple computer home to work with.
Does anyone have the same problem? Each time I sync either my ipad or iphone, i see my hard disk space dramatically go down till my start-up disk is full. Is there a problem with my itunes? Information: MacBook Mac OS X (10.6.4) iPad

I'm currently have a iphone and ipad... and is running my iTunes on Windows OS. My question is, what happens to the data in apple products after I format my harddisk and reinstall iTunes. Will the data get lost after I connect my apple products to the newly installed iTunes?Data of concern:Downloaded Applications --> Do I have to download them again in iTunes?Music --> Will the music be overwritten and removed during Sync? (I suppose the same applies to Photos and Videos)?
Contacts --> Will my contacts be removed?

View 4 RepliesI have an external hard drive attached to my Airport Extreme. The benefit of this set-up is having access to my media without it bogging down my Macbook's hard drive because I can access the external hard drive as though it is native to my Macbook.I was wondering if an iPad would access the external wireless hard drive and the media stored on it the same way my Macbook does.

I would like to store files such as music items, apps and especially videos that were bought from apple (tv shows, movies e.t.c.), then put it on to a USB stick or external hard drive and then be able to connect it to my iPad via the USB adaptor so that I can delete and add apps, music and movies from iPad and be able to put it back on, without connecting it to my computer or needing to have Internet acces to download it from the store (when I am over seas, because I do not have a laptop, I operate from a desktop). Is it possible and do I need to have a special app for this task if it is?
