YouTube Videos Play For A Few Seconds And Then Stop?
Sep 15, 2010
Issue: YouTube video on my iPad will play for a few seconds or a minute and then stop, this can occur multiple times making it impossible to watch the video. This has occurred with longer and short (<4mins) movies, all on WiFi but at two different locations (work & home). It will happen on one video but the next no issue.
Question: what can I do to correct or improve this? Is there a setting I can change on the iPad?
YouTube Videos Stop After Five Seconds Automatically?
Jun 12, 2010
on wifi I've tried to watch several different videos from the YouTube app and YouTube through safari... when connected through wifi the video loads 1-4 seconds of the video and stops. if I press play it'll play another couple seconds and stop again. I can load the same video via wifi on two different desktops (1 Mac, 1 win7), my MacBook... and that same video will load in it's entirety while I'm playing it through 3G... just wondering if anyone is having similar problems or issues with YouTube. any help/suggestions would help. I've already tried resetting my network connections on the iPad and that did not help. I've had no problem with my wifi connection browsing the web or even streaming music... problem only occurs with YouTube.

Does anybody else have terrible video streaming on their I-Pad?Any video I try to stream from You Tube or any other site stops playing after about five seconds. These videos load at a snails pace if at all. I've tried clearing the cache, cookie, history.Information : I-pad iOS 4.
I am trying to view HQ/HD videos on the mobile website of YouTube from my iPad using wi-fi and 3g. Each time I try to load the video, all I get is a spinning circle of death stuck in the middle of the video. However, I can play the video on the YouTube app. http://gallery.me.com/nyckylim/100039/YouTube/web.png ver=12847705500001
I used to watch youtube videos everyday on my ipad2, it worked well until a few days ago. I use the youtube apps, the search function is fine, and I can see thumbnail of the video fine, but when it started to load after a while it said "movie format not supported", and then the screen went black, i have to return to the home screen.
I tried it repeatedly with the same result, i also try to open it through safari /m.youtube, and encounter the same result, it's as if my ipad2 wont play any kind of video at all.
This really confuse me since a few days ago everything was fine, the "movie format" message does appear but very rarely, and if i try to re-load it would play.
I dont have any problem with cellular network, since i could use the internet just fine. I try using google, but i can't find any solution to this problem.
Ever since the new iPad came out, I've had doubts about the iPad 2 (I wish I actually waited for the pre-order, instead of buying the iPad 2 straightaway, nonetheless, I am very happy with it, so I'll stick with it), I know that the iPad 2 is capable of 1080p video output...
But, how about viewing YouTube videos or movies? I've noticed the HD-ness in the iPad 2 or the games that I play (they always boast the HD sign and I do notice the sharp detail). But... do they actually play in HD? In playing YouTube, we can't specifically tell (but we can notice), but is it capable of doing so?
I just picked up my iPad 2 on launch day, this being my first tablet. I was wondering if there was a way to autoplay Yutube videos such as when searching for something and selecting a playlist. I would really like not to have to play each video individually as this would be ideal when trying to relax with the HDMI adapter in use.
I have selected short YouTube videos to watch and the little flower keeps going around and around forever. I expect instant or at least quick response (at least as fast as my nook tablet) but nothing seems to happen. And yes I am connected to wifi. And I also looked at the wifi section of the manual. I also looked at Hulu plus but it needs flash so won't play.
Before update I was able to watch YouTube videos in YouTube's html5 player right from different websites, now I can't watch html5 embeded youtub videos anymore. One of such websites is: http://www.brigita.info/html5/video/video-posnetki.html (Played YouTube videos perfect before iOS 4.2.1 update on iPhone and on iPad. After update, html5 youtube videos don't play anymore.) I posted the same issue on YouTube's support forums
Why YouTube App Can't Play A Lot Of Videos (format Not Supported)?
Sep 18, 2010
I notice a lot of YouTube videos don't play on the iPad. I get an error like the one in this screenshot: http://www.flickr.com/photos/43033891@N03/4756450533/ if I try to play this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lANr97zQLD8 I would say that at least 25% of the videos I've tried to play get that error. Any idea why? Any work-arounds?
How To Play YouTube Music Videos In The Background?
Jul 20, 2010
So you watching a video with nice music and you want it in the background? Well even if you Have the backgrounder app installed when you hit the home button the video sound fades away
Well here is how to make it STAY playing in the background. You must be jail broken and have the app backgrounder installed.
You must be in landscape mode when in YouTube! You can switch back to portrait mode if oh wish after you close YouTube.
Go to your favorite YouTube video and search it, and before you click you result, read this. You have 1 second to do this step, so listen closely. As soon as you click you result, and you see it start to kinda of open, hit the home button fast. Give it 2 seconds and it will start playing your song.
This was typed on my iPad with bulletproof song running in the background.
Up until a couple of days ago, i could play videos on youtube both on the actual original ipad Youtube app that it comes with on your homescreen and as the regular website which you visit on your browser on [URL] I don't know if it's just me, but i prefer just using safari and then going to youtube. Now for some reason, when i use safari and go to youtube, the homepage screen displays fine, but as soon as you try to tap on the play button, the display screen (not the whole screen) turns blank and you can only hear the audio play and only the bottom half comments and description window is all you see, but the actual vid doesn't play and stays blank. Now if i use the actual youtube app on the homescreen, it works fine. The youtube website version doesn't play videos. This is so weird and is a nuisance.
