YouTube Stops Playing When Switching Tabs On Safari?
Feb 3, 2012
this doesn't happen with opera or atomic, so I'm wondering if this is supposed to happen. usually when I play a video on utube I want to surf while it plays in the background, but immediately when I switch to a different tab it turns off. I know I can double click on the home button and press play while it's in a different tab, but I don't wanna do that every time I switch back and forth between YouTube.
have an airport extreme running 22mbps and every time I play a YouTube video i get an instant 10-20 second load and then a complete stoppage of loading.Speedtest shows I'm getting high speeds to my pad.
I'm playing music through the iPod app, then I open safari and start browsing. After a few minutes, the music stops Idk if it matters, but I'm using headphones too.Is there something I'm doing wrong? Cuz I cant think of why it would just stop.
if you switch off the 3G in settings: Cellular Data to OFF and the same for WiFi to OFF does it stop the iPad from emitting any microwave radiation?I am guessing the Airplane mode does but wanted to know if I just switch off the 3G then will it stop that part from emitting its microwave radiation whilst I am using WiFi for example.
Is there a way to switch between apps so I can run two things at once without having to shut down the entire application? For instance can I be playing something on Itunes and also read a book? Information:Ipad
I'm wondering why my pandora app when minimized stops playing, was wondering why this is happening and how can I have pandora playing when minimized so I can work with safari or other things on my iPad and let it keep playing?
I'm on the The New iPad. Using the normal bog standard music app. The screen sleeps, or I press the power button to lock the iPad, or I use the smart cover, and the music fades out.
It doesn't happen on every song, just the odd few. Also, these songs that don't play in sleep mode, they seem to activate an internet connection!!! Maybe coincidence, I am going to turn off wifi and my mobile Internet and see what happens.
I bought a season of a tv series off iTunes, the first episode finished downloading so I decided to watch it, but a little more than half way in, the frame froze but the time bar indicated that the video was still playing even though I also couldn't hear any sound. Then the episode went blank and now when I reopen it even after restarting that episode wont play. The same (minus the blank screen) also occurred with the second episode that finished downloading.I downloaded these over a less than ideal wifi connection, I suspected the connection had something to do with the quality of the downloaded product.
Sometimes my ipad stops playing sound. then when i check, the volume bar itself is gone. I tried restarting Ipad but no use. This happened with me more than 5-7 times till now. This is new Ipad and i don't know why is it behaving like that. It is not hardware problem i think.sound will stop not only while playing music in iPod but when i am watching something on netflix, suddenly it will go away..
Bought ipad2 3 week back. Since then my you tube video(most of the time) stops playing. If I scroll the play bar it scroolls to the relevant picture frame, but stop playing. I use it over 802.11 b or g. If I play the video over pc it's ok. Also is there an app or way to find why youtube is not continue to play.
I upgraded to IOS5 and do not like the way Safari changed. I liked the little button that opened up all the browsing windows at once rather than the tab view. How can I get back to the old Safari look and feel?
YouTube stops and takes a long time to load videos. It works good on my MacBook and pc, no stoping at all. I think it has something to do with the video quality being to high for my Internet speed, I have 1.5 dsl. I just play the lowest quality on my computers but I can't change it on the iPad.
This is my number one problem with the iPad...when visiting a site like the forums here or gizmodo etc. I like to open lots of pages in different tabs while scrolling down the list...then go read the stories or threads one at a time. However on the iPad whenever you open a new tab it automatically selects it...is there any way to have tabs open in the background...seems like it should be a switch in settings, but I couldn't find one.
I cannot open any tabs on my iPad Air in Safari. Every time I hit the "+" button it crashes back to the home screen. If I try to open a link in a website in a new tab/page, it won't do it (it doesn't crash though). I've tried the following:
-Reboot the device -Swipe up to close the app and then re-open it -Reset the network settings -Reset all settings -Mess with Safari settings and reboot the device
The only thing I haven't done is to erase all content and settings. I'm hoping there's another solution that will work first. If I do end up resorting to erasing all content and settings, will that just restore it to a factory reset of when I bought it?
I have the following problem. During commute I only have good mobile coverage the first 15 minutes of the train ride. So I load pages on Safari tabs to read them later. But when I come back I find they are gone and I have to reload them expect I can't because I have lost coverage. How do I tell the iPad to just hang on what it has downloaded once even if the tab is not in the foreground?
