So far so good and having fun with iPad. However, having opened gmail, how do I get out of it? The home button only gets me to the main screen but then if I tap on the mail icon I'm right back to the open gmail! Would appreciate any help!
Unable To Work With Email / Can't Find Option To Increase Messages Limitation
Apr 4, 2010
So, I have a random question about email on the iPad. One of my biggest pet-peeves about email on the iPhone is that it is limited to 200 messages displayed at once. I love being able to recall messages that are quite old on my laptop, but cannot get such an experience easily on the iPhone.
Does the iPad keep more than that displayed on the inbox? I know that might be hard to test on the first day... I'm just curious. Also, is there anyway to transfer old email messages from a MacBook Pro (no longer stored on an email server) to the iPad?
so here's the problem. In my iPhone i have a gmail account that gets my mail, contacts and calendar. However on my iPad when i go to set it up it doesn't have the option for the contacts or the calendar. If anyone has found a way to do this I would be greatful to hear the solution.
Information: Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.6.2) IPhone 3G, iPad
If I go to Settings>General>Network there are just VPN and Wi-Fi setting and no hotspot. Any idea how to get it ? I did Reset Network Settings but nothing happened. If I try to set APN Settings under Internet Tethering it doesn't save them - when I go out of settings menu and come back all the fields are empty. in my other mobiles i can use this function and the same simcard if i use in ipad 3 ...i cant find my hotspot to turn it on.
During the iPad keynote, I noticed the calendar had events highlighted in different colors. I cannot find this option in the calendar. Everything is just highlighted in blue. Does anyone know how to access this option?
My wife and I put both our gmail accounts on the iPad when we picked up the iPad. Hers is easily accessible but I do not know how to find my account so that I can open it and read my mail. A simple problem no doubt for someone in the know.Information : iMac and iBook G4 (Tiger)2.4 GHz Core2 Duo for iMac.
Won't Remove Youtube / Can't Find Option To Delete
Nov 15, 2010
I need desperately to remove youtube from my Ipad. And I cannot figger out how to do. I have already created restrictions but the icon is still there and only very few videos end up being restricted.
I have read in the Internet that youtube cannot be removed from ipad. If that is the case, I would find it unbelievable and actually be really angry and disappointed with Apple.
all my iCal calendar colours have turned pastel with the update. Any Idea why? And how I get them back to their bright pretty selves? I haven't had a chance to play round with mobile me setting, just thought I would see if anyone is having the same issue.
One of the somewhat surprising new features of the iPad 3, is the fact that, your new iPad will work as a personal hotspot. That means, as is possible with the iPhone 4 and 4S, that your iPad 3 can support three devices connecting via Wi-Fi, one via Bluetooth, and one plugged in via the white USB cable.
I purchased the IPAD 3 on a 8 gig per month data plan with the specific intention of using the hotspot functionality. When I went to activate this feature last weekend, I was unable to find the option on the IPAD. Aftercontacting Telstra support, they were unable to activate this feature and passed me onto Apple. After being bouched between Apple and Telstra a number of times, Apple have advised they still do not have a resolution and that one may not be found for weeks, if not months.
So for all the people like myself that have puchased an IPAD 3 on a large data plan with the intention of using the hotspot, you will not be able to do so for quite some time by the looks. The latest from Tesltra is that that it is is Apple's court to fix the issue.
Unable To Find Option To Protect Certain Apps With A Password
Nov 11, 2010
I've been playing with my iPad for almost a week now. Just yesterday I set up my mail with Exchange so I'm able to check my work e-mail anywhere, anytime.
The only downside is that I can't find the option to protect my e-mail adresses with passwords. It automatically logs in and updates the e-mails. I have found the option to put a password on my iPad for when it starts up.
I hope there is a way to protect my mail and some other apps (twitter?) with passwords.
