Updated to iOS 4.2.1, but am having problems with maintaining wifi connection.My iPad is seeming to forget the network, as approximately every 24 hours it will ask for my my network password,I enter it and all is well again.

I have a jailbroken iPad wifi (non 3G) and I've recently bought the camera connection kit which has a USB port (which supposedly detects/connects to even non-camera devices like USB keyboards, USB flash drives, etc).
I was wondering if it would be possible to attach a 3G USB modem/data card and make the Internet work without wifi? The 3G data card otherwise requires a bare-minimum wvdial from a normal Linux terminal.
1. Can I get/install the wvdial .deb package on my jail broken iPad?
2. If I can get the package, will this work (wvdial detecting and using the USB modem and connecting through it?), or is it too far out?
My wife's iPad 2 just stopped being able to surf the internet or use apps which require an internet connection. It connects to our home wifi network just fine and shows strong signal strength, but when she goes to use something requiring a connection to the internet, it tells her that she has no connection to the internet.

View 14 RepliesI've read all the threads I can find on the Ridge and watched several videos and nothing seems to adequately address lap usage. I primarily use my iPad in my lap on the couch and I'm wondering if the Ridge holds it's position(s) well in that situation. I've seen the Speck Fitfolio (next best contender) in person and found it to be totally inadequate.
The little ridge on the Fitfolio is too small to be stable and the detents it fits in aren't deep enough to give it a lot of grab so it's constantly slipping. I really like the look of the Ridge, the fact that the bezel isn't covered, and the lightweight, slim design.
Picked up an ipad2 64gig wifi 3G a month ago and have been happy with it.
Today I got the av adaptor to hook this to my samsung 52" HDTV but am having trouble with the connection to the tv. Tried 3different hdmi cables and 3 different hdmi inputs on the tv. The problem I am having is that the connection to the tv seems to be intermittent. I tried this using Netflix and various apps and games with the same issue occuring. I can start a movie and it seems ok but then at random times the tv screen goes black for a few seconds and comes back on. The video resumes playing but there is no audio. If you hit the 30sec rollback in netflix app it will start up again with the sound. With games you have to restart them.
I have had my iPad for about 30 days and have noticed that no matter where I take it i get very poor WIFI signals reception. I have to release and renew my connection no matter where I go to help with connection speeds. I'm ready to exchange the thing, I was just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue. The connection issue is blasted all over the net and figure this forum was a good place to start.

View 2 RepliesThe thing I've noticed about this iPad vs my other one is that my apps crash a lot more than they did under the old OS. I've deleted and reinstalled these apps to no avail. Even safari has crapped out. Just wondering if this has been an issue with the new OS.
View 6 RepliesSince i upgraded my ipad2 to ios 8.1.1, cellular connection is not stable, it doen not start from settings, every time i have to reboot the ipad and after doing so connection is not stable and fluctuates. Is there any solution for this????

View 2 RepliesiPad 64 3G/Wifi Looses secure wifi network credentials periodically. I retype in the 26 character key and I get back on. This is very unnerving and sometimes leaves my family stranded without a connection. Is this going to be a permanent flaw of the iPad?

So my iPad 3G is having issues connecting to my wireless internet. I can enter the password and connect to my connection and have the wifi bars at the top appear full bar. But it doesn't seem to be working. Whenever I open a browser it asks me to get 3G data plan. It clearly says I AM connected, but the apps that require wifi connection says I need wifi.

I am sitting in school with my MacBook pro and my ipad 16gig side by side. I am on the school wifi connection with both but my iPad is sooooo much slower than my MacBook.Is there a reason for this??

I upgraded my iPad to iOS 5.1.1 last night. Ever since then, it keeps losing the wifi connection. My laptop, ipod and iphone are not losing any connectivity with the wifi, nor has this been a problem with the iPad prior to upgrading the iOS.

Recently got an iPad 2 but my only source of Internet in the micro sim 3G Internet in the iPad. This is great fir everything bar trying to use my catch up tv apps like BBC iplayer and 4OD. When I try and watch anything via them it tells me I need to connect over a wifi connection, is there anyway round this that doesn't involve me paying out for a broadband router and contract?? I would really like to be able to use the iplayer apps.

Received notice onscreen that ran out of cellular data on plan and needed more. I'm suppose to have unlimited (purchased iPad early). So, that's ?1, but what really bothers me is that I was on a WiFi connection, not cellular. The WiFi icon was onscreen the whole time and showed nearly full strength.
Can the iPad use the 3g cellular connection without identifying that as the connection type? If yes, that is very troublesome. If no, why would the a notice come up saying I'm out of minutes on cellular plan? Finally, how can I confirm / determine that I AM in the "unlimited" group that is grandfathered in to the AT&T plan?

I have not put down my ipad since it has arrived as promised on 4/30...I have experience no wi-fi issues, no issues with the 3g connection with AT&T...I take it everywhere I go ....the graphics are great and can't wait until they release more HD apps for the iPad....I hope everyone's experience has been as wonderful as mine...Hope that I do not encounter any issues would love to hear how everyone's personal experience has been.
