View 1 RepliesI just purchased a 32GB iPad 3G/Wifi model. Overall I am very happy with the product however, to things baffle me about Apple decisions. Number one why is a product that by itself with tax is around $800 dollars have such a short charging cord? This is just a ridiculous choice on Apples part....I am extremely disappointed with that aspect.
Next I plug my iPad into my desktop PC (non-Mac) to sync it to my master iTunes library and I notice while it is plugged into the PC it does not charge the battery??? Seriously......I go to the Apple store in Waikiki today and plug my iPad into a brand new MacBook Pro and have the same problem. On site tech's state that there currently are many computers not powerful enough to charger the iPad via USB.....Seriously Apple??????
Last but certainly not least, the iPad is essentially a giant iPhone with an awesome screen and features however, why does Apple not provide an Apple logo lint free cloth like they do with every iPhone on the planet???? I know Apple are marketing genius's and all but come on now another way Apple has seriously disappointed me. I hope Steve himself gets wind of a post like this and they fix these issues ASAP!!!

I'm thinking of getting the iPad Air. I currently have a Mini and I love it but I am looking for a change. My plan is to take my iPhone and my daughter's older, hand me down, doesn't charge unless plugged into the Mac iPad 2 and get Apple GCs for them. If I am right, it'll be about $225 towards. She will get the Mini.
Do you think the Air will drop in price with the new one coming out? I can't remember if the others have when newer came out. I probably have a better chance of it happening at stores besides Apple.
My iPad won't charge while plugged into computer.

It even says, "Not Charging" but I woke up just now to find my (64GB/3G) iPad fully charged. Did Apple made changes to 4.3.1?

View 8 RepliesUntil now, my iPad has functioned flawlessly, but now when I plug it in, it will not charge. It has never charged when plugged into my laptop, but has always done so when plugged into the car or at home.

I got my ipad opening day. By the end of the day, I noticed that even though I had the ipad plugged into the supplied charger with supplied cable, the battery was slowing draining at a rate of approximately 5% every hour. So I called apple care and they decided to send me a new replacement. However, the behavior is the same with this iPad. We own two of them, so I did try the power adapter and cable from the second ipad and again, the behavior is the same. I would like to see if anyone else notices this with their iPad if they could at least give it a try:1) Fire up bluetooth and WiFi, plug in the supplied cable and charger.2) Crank up the brightness.3) Run an app that is demanding on the device. I love drum apps and will drum along with my macpro playing iTunes on the MacPro and listening to the iPad via GarageBand so that it plays on the nice set of speakers.
View 3 RepliesThe iPad was normal until today. When plugged to the wall, the Ipad was charging correctly and it was showing "charging". When I came back today to charge it, the iPad wasnt charging and showed "not charging" even if it was plugged to the wall. This usually happens with a computer but now it happened using the wall. Sometimes it did not even showed "not charging" like the iPad was not charging AT ALL even if it was plugged in. The computer does not recognize the iPad anymore.
I tried everything, from checking all my settings and switching options to make the battery better to power off and power on. I did some research on the Internet and I found nothing to solve my problem ...However, this post explains well my situation: [URL] ....
Please note that the cable and the adapter are working fine because I tested them with other Apple devices.
When using the new iPad, just for casual browsing on wifi, it loses power even though it is plugged into the mains using the charger that came with it.
My iPad 2 didn't do this.
I finally got around to updating the iPad to iOS 5 and when I go to plug in the iPad via the cable to my laptop (MBP) it will not charge or sync, and I dont hear the little "beep" when I used to plug it in. iTunes does not even register that a device is connected. At first I thought it might be my laptop so I plugged my iPhone in and voila, works every time (in all 3 ports as well) take the iPhone off, nothing. So I thought, I am going to use the cube charger that comes with the iPhone to see, sure enough, nothing, the ONLY thing that will charge it is the iPad charger itself.
