Does anyone know if I can have more than 9 tabs at the same time using safari on my iPad? Is this something that's changeable with a JB iPad?
View 3 RepliesI upgraded to IOS5 and do not like the way Safari changed. I liked the little button that opened up all the browsing windows at once rather than the tab view. How can I get back to the old Safari look and feel?

I'd love to see three or four finger swipe in safari to move between tabs.
A tab bar would take up too much space, so a gesture would be perfect for this situation...
Is there no way to lock tabs in safari and use like bookmarks?
View 1 RepliesWhen closing Safari, is there a way to close all the tabs at once if more than one tab is open?
View 1 RepliesThis is my number one problem with the iPad...when visiting a site like the forums here or gizmodo etc. I like to open lots of pages in different tabs while scrolling down the list...then go read the stories or threads one at a time. However on the iPad whenever you open a new tab it automatically selects it...is there any way to have tabs open in the background...seems like it should be a switch in settings, but I couldn't find one.
View 1 Replies"Safari has a new, scrolling 3D tab interface that allows for just about as many tabs as you want.
Alas, these tabs also have new, tiny “X” buttons that make closing them quickly a bit difficult.
Forget the X button — it’s for chumps. Swipe the tabs away to the left, instead. It’s a whole lot faster, and requires less precision when you’re trying to dump a bunch of tabs on the go."
But when I try it, all it does is shuffle the tabs around?
I cannot open any tabs on my iPad Air in Safari. Every time I hit the "+" button it crashes back to the home screen. If I try to open a link in a website in a new tab/page, it won't do it (it doesn't crash though). I've tried the following:
-Reboot the device
-Swipe up to close the app and then re-open it
-Reset the network settings
-Reset all settings
-Mess with Safari settings and reboot the device
The only thing I haven't done is to erase all content and settings. I'm hoping there's another solution that will work first. If I do end up resorting to erasing all content and settings, will that just restore it to a factory reset of when I bought it?
I have the following problem. During commute I only have good mobile coverage the first 15 minutes of the train ride. So I load pages on Safari tabs to read them later. But when I come back I find they are gone and I have to reload them expect I can't because I have lost coverage. How do I tell the iPad to just hang on what it has downloaded once even if the tab is not in the foreground?

just got a replacement iPad and this one has tabs at the top of the safari screen. So when I open a new window it's tabs rather than separate windows? Amy ideas how I can change this back to normal?

I have been using chrome for a long time on my android so it is my habit to change tabs just by swiping from the edge of the screen. I, however, don't know about any such gestures in safari (in ipad) and don't like using the buttons. Any gesture to change tabs in safari.
View 1 Repliesthis doesn't happen with opera or atomic, so I'm wondering if this is supposed to happen. usually when I play a video on utube I want to surf while it plays in the background, but immediately when I switch to a different tab it turns off. I know I can double click on the home button and press play while it's in a different tab, but I don't wanna do that every time I switch back and forth between YouTube.

View 8 RepliesI recently purchased an iPad 2 running iOS 5, and a friend of mine with the same device and OS has a 5th option on his safari menu bar, whereas I only have 4, being: back, forward, bookmarks, and the "add to bookmarks" icon. He however has an icon after the "add to bookmarks" arrow, that being a cascade/show all open browser windows icon.
View 6 RepliesWhen I open a new page in Safari, it always tabs to the google bar, instead of the URL bar. Is there any way of changing this?
View 2 RepliesI'm a fairly new iPad2 owner and I'm really enjoying getting to grips with the device. I have successfully updated to ios5 and everything has been functioning well with no issues.
Something strange started happening yesterday, when I open a new tab in safari the new page has links to windows and hotmail embedded in the top. I'm not sure how it has happened, it doesn't seem to have any effect on browsing but I'm a bit concerned as it doesn't seem right.
My outgoing emails aren't going out. I recently changed my email password
