System summary; iPad mini, version 7.1.2, 4 GB available
Problem; Safari opens to a blank screen briefly, then closes again. I can see it running in the background, I can swipe to close, but it will never open.
Relevant info; Safari currently has well over a hundred tabs open. I can see it trying to open them on startup. This iPad was off the internet for about 2 months (traveling), but during that time MANY new tabs were opened. How you ask? There are Apps which open tabs in Safari, and my young daughter tapped on them A LOT! Of course nothing happened except a blank new tab, because the iPad was away from WiFi.
What I've tried;
---Close Safari in the background, start again.
---Clear cookies and data
---Turn off Open New Tabs in Background
and the big one
---Restore to Factory settings, Restore from backup.
Now before iOS v7 there was a method to close all tabs WITHOUT opening Safari. You could do it in the Settings by selecting "Private Browsing"
However, Apple moved "Private Browsing" out of Settings and into Safari itself. And I can't run Safari!
Have an iPad 2 with new IOS 5 and the updated iTunes 10.5 running on a Win 7 Home Prem 64 bit.
This may be more for a iTunes forum, but the odd thing is, that iTunes is starting on its own and if I close it, it will open up again in 10 minutes (or so). Further, on the left side it shows that the iPad2 is connected - but its not!.
I have a small question from a friend. I don't own an iPad, so I'm asking the question on his behalf.
On a "web app" or rather a dedicated user interface website on Safari, he wanted to tap on a link, but the whole board is selected instead. He told me on the PC he double-clicked to access it. Here's a picture of the website, I've rounded the selected table in blue so you get to see what's being selected.
Anyway, is there a way to double-tap on the iPad ? Does anybody have a suggestion on how to bypass this so that he can tap on the link directly ?
Suddenly when I click Safari my maps opens automatically instead and I cannot view pages or log to Internet - no browser. It's like when I click on Safari icon the OS prompts Maps to open. I've restarted iPad, cleared cache, history, and cookies and it doesnt work. I had a few pages open that I would have a hard time retrieving so I would prefer avoiding resetting all settings.
I have a strange issue where I attempt to open iTunes on the iPad (latest software version), iTunes briefly starts (you can briefly see the icons along the bottom), then it quickly exits and then the App Store starts up and is always ends up on the review page for Angry Birds (which I have installed on the iPad). Very strange!
I have a web app at work that requires double clicks in a browser to open content (digital asset management - Canto Cumulus). I was excited to come in to work & browse images, but viewing categories requires a double click on the category name, and obviously, all that does is zoom in/out the browser page! Does anyone know if there's a way to simulate a double click in Safari? I've tried holding 2 fingers on the screen while double clicking with a third - combos like that - nothing works.
When I try to open the iTunes Store on my iPad, it shows a gray screen for a couple seconds (as if it is trying to load the front page) and then and opens the app store to the review page of an app I bought a while ago. Anyone had this happen before? I tried hard resetting it to no avail and don't want to spend hours restoring it through iTunes if there's an easy fix.
Has anyone had the issue of opening iTunes, it opens but then immediately closes iTunes and launches the App Store? It seem is to be stuck in this loop. Restarting the device did nothing. It seems to launch into a review of some game. Here is a vid ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUXsbAYASxs
I'd like to add a "translate" menu to safari browser website, that is whenever I right-click a word, phrase or paragraph it will give an option to translate (any preferred language). Currently, safari on iPad Air only gives "copy" or "define". I would like to add "translate" to that.
my friend forgot the passcode of his new ipad mini immediately after the initial configuration and never synced with itunes. now ipad is inactive asking to connect with itunes. after following all proper steps URL.... to connect with itunes, The following happens.
1. iTunes opens with the pop up window "The software of the ipad needs to restored to factory settings or updated". I clicked Restore.
2. next step asks me to press "Restore and Update". I clicked that.
3. It contacts ipad software update server.
4. Server asks to agree with terms and conditions. ok done that.
5. download of 1.94GB of ipad update starts.
6.But 15 mins after connecting to itunes, ipad exits from the recovery mode by itself.
7. After the download of 1.94GB is completed, when i tried to connect ipad in recovery mode again to restore and update, steps from 1-6 happens again.
is there anyway I can stop my ipad from flipping to Safari every time I click on a link in an email. I would like to be able to go through all my email and then go to Safari and go through the tabs that have been opened. Currently I click an email, Safari opens, I go back to mail, delete said email, read the next email, repeat.
I am using a PC. I can sync everything but applications. As soon as I try and check the "APP" box iTunes freezes. It doesn't even show the check mark. I let it sit for several minutes and nothing. I hit control - alt - delete and the message "iTunes is no longer responding" comes up and I have to end the program. All other aspects of syncing appear to have worked fine. I have gone through this several times. What am I missing?

When you click a link in an email in Mail, Safari opens at the relevant page. When you have finished with the browser page, is it possible to go back to Mail with one click or action? I have an ipad 2 with ios 5
In the last week, every time I launch Photobucket, it stays on the blue screen and then it takes me back to home page. I then launch again a second time, and usually this allows me to get into Photobucket. Today, I tried getting into the app--once, twice, and trice to no avail. I go to the app store and look up Photobucket. I go into the app description and see that Photobucket crashes a lot according to many reviews. I try to add my review. The app store tells me that I can't review the app because I don't own it!
The app store shows it is installed (grayed-out). What should I do? Delete the app and reinstall? Synch?
I already tried ipl'ing (rebooting) the iPad but this didn't work.
So whenever I open the mail app it opens on a certain email with one of my inboxes pre scrolled about halfway through and this persists if I close the app, making it the default position whenever I open Mail.
At my school the wifi needs to be set up with a proxy. I add the correct server/port info, and then click on the network to get on it. It connects, then brings up the log in page to Apple.com, so I know the internet is working, but I need to know how to get out of the login page, without it dropping the network (ie clicking the home button or clicking cancel). The wifi does not have a username and password requirement, all it needs is the server/port numbers.
I downloaded Whatsapp after several tries (at first I had the problem several people describe of payment declined notifications). It worked for a few days and now I can see the indicator showing that I have messages (and friends have told me they sent them) but when I press on the app icon it opens for a second and shuts down again
how Mail works with the iPad2. When you open the mail app there is a portion of the screen that lists the messages in your mailboxes. Behind this is the last email you looked at loaded in the window. As it currently works on my machine if I delete an item from the list of emails on the left, the app automatically moves to the next message, loads the message, and marks the email as being "read". Is there a way to make it not do this? Basically I don't like it automatically moving the next unread message and marking it as read.
