View 2 RepliesI have a large photo library. Most of the photos are in jpg format 2560 x 1920 resolution and are over 2 MB each.
I would like to sync a lot of them to my iPad. I'm thinking it would be best to convert them to another format and reduce the resolution. What is the best format/resolution for photos on the iPad for the best quality image without wasting space?
High Res photos, transferred to the iPad are of lousy jpg quality, with lots of artefacts.
Is there a quality setting that I have missed?

What resolution should My photos be to upload to iPad (3rd gen)?
View 1 RepliesI got the new iPad I was wondering why the Photos app never prompted me to send photos at lower resolutions. Instead it was sending everything full size! I found the answer... When your sending a photo from the Photos app, press the Images: file size area on the CC line. It opens up an option bar with Small, Medium, Large, Actual Size choices.
View 1 RepliesI have a lot of photos I want to transfer to the iPad 2. But they're all in original large resolution sizes taken from my digital camera. It seems like a waste of space to transfer high resolution images when I'm only going to show them in on the iPad's lower resolution.
Is there a way for iTunes or another program to batch down-convert the resolution of many photos at once for transfer to the iPad?
I noticed that profile photos (Skype, Facebook, games etc) can look really bad if people are using low resolution pictures. What format and DPI would we need to save a picture at in order for the retina iPad to show it in full quality?
View 1 RepliesYou go into The camera roll, copy the image and then paste it into the body of a new email. I've tried this this, and unless I'm doing something wrong, it just doesn't work for me! The image is still small and low resolution.
View 5 RepliesI have an ipad 2 16gb wi-fi. Since I am short of space, does anyone know what size/resolution does ipad2 import photos. If say I have a 4gb album on my macbook on iphoto, will ipad also use 4gb or will it compress it while syncing through itunes.
View 4 RepliesHere seems to be an issue with the "new iPad" (aka iPad 3). It appears that iTunes now loads a much higher resolution photo on to the iPad 3. For example, I restored the iPad 3 from the iPad 2 backup. Wheres 10878 photos on the used about 8.3 GB the iPad 2 (and about 10 GB iPhone 4s) the same selections use about 21GB on the iPad 3. Similarly the "iPad Cache" inside the "iPhoto Library" has grown from around 8GB to 60.54GB (as of now).
There seems to be no way to specify that you only want lower resolution photos in iTunes any longer. (You used to be able to specify that it would not include "Full Resolution" photos).
This means that you have to exclude some albums to avoid filling the iPad 3 (even the 64GB version is close to being full). A solution to just use the same resolution as on the iPad 2 would be ideal. Likewise having a 60.54GB cache on a 256GB drive on a Mini is non-optimal - the "Masters" folder is about 131GB which is fine, but with a 60GB cache and the other stuff, the drive is nearly full now.
What is the maximum resolution with which iPad will allow e-mailing the photos? Please explain in detail.

View 4 RepliesWhen iTunes 'optimizes' my photos, it reduces their resolution to the iPad's screen size. I want it to keep them at their current resolution so I can zoom in and still see a decent amount of detail. Is this currently possible?

there are probably a lot of ways to do it but what would give me the best picture quality on my ipad?
I have a PDF that I marked up using Preview on my mac. After I transferred it to my iPad all the annotations are missing when I look at it in goodreader. I emailed it to myself and the markups are missing in emails view as well. Are there any viewers that will allow markups to be viewed on the iPad?

View 1 RepliesIm going to buy an ipad today but not sure what to get? I only have mobile broadband - no fixed line - through vodafone - but was thinking of getting a mifi device to mean i could use ipad through wifi on that - and i can take the mifi device with me if im out and about. This way i can use for my iphone too.
However i can get a better deal for a bigger ipad and take out a new mobile broadband deal with vodafone on ipad and do away with my old broadband account.
However if i have 3g only as my access for internet can i use it to download movies? For instance i can only dowload movies to my iphone at the minute over the internet not on 3g as they are too big. Is this the same on ipad 3g?
Its going on 3 months now, this is ridiculous. HTC has already fixed the wifi issues with the Evo and its only been like 2 weeks. It amazes me a company like Apple cant fix this by now.
