Stop Apps From Using Internet
Jul 1, 2010Call me paranoid but I am looking for a way to NOT allow apps to connect to the internet unless I explicitly allow them.For example, there is a program called "Evernote" that allows you to take "notes." Ok, seems all well and good, but in order to use their program they require you to create an account so you can "sync" your notes with the appropriate desktop version.Not interested.Is there a way to stop an app from accessing the internet unless specifically allowed? Some type of firewall maybe?

Nov 4, 2010While installing an apps, a pop up window asked me to fill out the password once again before I can continue. Once I did, the apps was installed but at the same time, another icon pops up (just like how it starts to install an apps) that says 'waiting'. It has now been in that status for 7-8 hours! Cannot be deleted either

May 23, 2012I recently bought a new Apple iPad. For the first week everything worked great. On Tuesday my apps stopped working one by one as the day went on. I took it back to the Apple Store that night and they restarted the whole system. Wiped it clean, now sitting here tonight one night later my apps are starting not to work one by one. What is up wi th this?

I set the ipad to sync to icloud rather than my computer, and I also unchecked "sync apps" in itunes, but I still transfer music from my laptop to my ipad, so when I sync my ipad to add new songs, it automatically transfers 8gb+ of apps into my laptop! iTunes on my Mac absolutely INSISTS on downloading all the apps I have on my iPad.
I never sync with iTunes. I've been doing everything via the cloud. All I wanted to do is listen to some music I bought & iTunes wants to use up all my available disk space downloading the iPad apps.

Mar 26, 2012whenever I sync my new iPad3 with iTunes my apps no longer open, the screen just goes grey briefly then goes back to the home screen, the way I've been getting around this is by installing any free app then uninstalling again and everything works fine after this but is there a way to stop this happening in the first place

Sep 29, 2013I have a couple of games that, while my iPad is on stand by, sometimes will just launch by themselves and tell me to play now to collect some game bonus. I don't mean a notification , but the app actually launching, full game. What the heck? This is a waste of battery.
One is real racing 3, the other is fresh deck poker. EA's Scrabble also does this sometimes.
