Why is it so easy to archive things, but so hard to delete them. I can swipe or tap the icon to archive, but to delete I have to open it, and move it to the trash.

View 1 RepliesSince updating to IOS 4.2.1 I've noticed a change in behavior in the mail delete icon. It now switches states between and Archive and Delete button depending on the email. It seems that emails received before the update can be deleted but new mail received post update can only be archived. The only workaround I've come up with is to use the Move to Folder button and place in the deleted items folder. Has anyone else noted this behavior?

Is there a way to make iPad automatically delete sent POP mail after a time period? I have my apple mail program on an iMac set to do so, and it's working fine. But on the iPad sent mail has not been being deleted. I tried telling iTunes to sync mail accounts, and replace mail info on the iPad with that from the computer, but the sent mail on the iPad is still all there. I could just delete it all, one by one, but since I thought the settings were synced to the computer that all the sent messages were being deleted, and just noticed they weren't. So now I have a thousand or more sent messages on the ipad. This only occurs with POP accounts, Mac.com mail is behaving well, the sent messages delete as they should. Any ideas? Or, how can I mass delete thousands of sent messages on the iPad without having to do it one by one?

View 9 RepliesIs there a quick easy way to select a paragraph or more in Mail and delete it? Right now I'm just putting the cursor at the end of what I want deleted and holding down the delete key. For more than a sentence or 2 that is kinda slow.

How do I delete mail saved by oldest first from "saved" folder on I Pad 2?
View 1 RepliesOn my exchange I got lots of folder where I saved various kind of letters. When I was setting up my Mail on the iPAD , it synced with my Exchange application, on the PC (or Server) and transfered all my MailBox Tree. They are all empty of course. I don"t need most of them on my iPAD, I do know that I can transfer mail from InBox to a specific folder, and it will do the job on my Company server, which is great. But as I mentioned , most of them are old archives. So I'll never transfer anything into these old Folders.
For the life of me, I couldn't find a way to delete them from my iPAD.
