Sep 25, 2012I have a confusion,which I want to clarify.I have an iPad which works fine without any issue.Suppose a task is running and I have started a new task by pressing Home button.I think the previously running program moves into background.I just want to ask whether, it keeps running in background? Please clarify.

May 1, 2010You can do light multitasking on the iPad on OS 3. This does not require any jailbreaking.

Press the home button on your iPad and you are multitasking!
You will still hear the music from energy98.
Note some apps with sound will stop the music.

Nov 23, 2010Quitting an application all the way is way more unfriendly than it has to be. Not at all what I would expect from Apple.We need a way to choose how we exit an application - whether we exit all the way or just move to a different app. Right then, not pulling up a menu with dozens of apps, holding one down long enough to make it jiggle, then deleting it. And shutting down the iPad then re-starting it still leaves the dozens of apps on the multi-task screen.

Nov 23, 2010After last nights update. Every time I quit an app it goes into the new multi task bar. For some reason I had assumed you had to to something special to put an app in there you wished to come back to in a minute. But it seems that every app I run, and then close (by pressing home) goes in there. So I have a long line of icons left in there that I don't need or wish to go back to rather than just the ones I do want.

Apr 2, 2011I hadn't rebooted for awhile so thought I'd do so. I held the wake/sleep button, then slid the red bar across when prompted. It then went off. So then I turned it on, entered my passcode, and was surprised to see my same apps running in the multi-task bar. Is it supposed to work this way? Do I need to shut them all down manually first for a reboot?

Apr 5, 2010I'm struggling with choosing an app to do all of the following well. I'm interested to hear how others meet these needs, which I imagine age very common. From the same base app, I'd like to be able to:
(1) Take copious notes that are searchable (like Notes)
(2) Create To Dos that can be organized into folders and sub folders and be associated with people, places, etc. Ideally, leveraging gps or location services
(3) Create notes and tasks by calling an (800) number (like Reqall)
(4) Get smart reminders via email and text message (again, like Reqall)
(5) Have cloud synching and ability to synch with my iPhone
Am I missing something, or is there a natural need for a tool that integrates the best from apps such as RTM, ToDo, Reqall, Things, etc.? I am NOT an anal retentive taskmaster. Actually, it's quite the opposite. I need the simplified 'Apple' version of task management and I want it on my iPad / iPhone.

Aug 28, 2010Some four weeks or so since buying my iPad 3G, I'd say that one of the most delightful things about it is the sheer ease of installing new 'apps'. But inevitably there's a lot of poor stuff to wade through in the App Store to find those of quality. I'm seeking apps in several areas and will post separately about each. To start with I'd be grateful for recommendations on a good task and appointment manager please. I've tried several but have not yet found one that really cuts the mustard. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I wouldn't have thought my requirements were that unusual:1. Must handle 'Tasks' not just 'Appointments' in a simple, intuitive way. 2. Must be able to display these in consolidated form. For a day, week, or month. 3. Must let me sync painlessly between my iPad and PC, on which I use Microsoft Outlook 2002. And ideally also with my smartphone, which runs nder Windows Mobile and syncs to Outlook 2002. 4. Must have the usual functionality expected in such programs. Like handling repeat events (weekly meetings, annual birthdays, etc), holidays spanning multiple dates, etc. With Windows Mobile I was spoiled for choice, with programs like Pocket Informant, Agenda Today, etc, so I'm hopeful I can find something of similar quality for the iPad.

Oct 14, 2010So, i am looking for the best task manager app out there. One that has this features:
*iPad app *iPhone app *Windows app! or Outlook integretion *Over the air sync (like mobile me) I have bought 2Do and the sync is awful even though is wireless sync you have to do it manually >_>! whats the point. There is a way to do it wireless but then it won't sync with Outlook. I have also try Todo (same issues). I was gonna go with Things boundle (iphone/ipad) but no over the air sync (coming soon) and only Mac app. I use a windows laptop for work and do not use my mac so much. Same for Onmifocus, only mac app. I will be using this app for Work, personal, and school. And 70% of the time, am at the office with a PC the rest at school.
Application Running On Task Bar Even After Quit
Nov 24, 2010After up grading to 4.2, I found that after pressing the home button to "quit", the app is still "running" on the task bar. I realize this is part of the new multi-tasking features, but sometimes I just want to really close the app and *not* have it just hibernate. Now i have to close it twice.

Jul 27, 2010Has anyone seen a calendar/task manager app that can be synced between two ipads? It would be great if my wife and I could share a task list and calendar. If my wife wants me to pick up something on the way home she simply adds it to the task list. If I need my wife to wash my gym clothes, then I could just add it to the list. If my wife has scheduled a date night with friends, then I would see it on the calendar before I scheduled something at the same time.
