View 1 RepliesI received an Abas zippered folio cover to review for my blog. The post went up today with lots of photos. I have seen no mention of this company on here, which surprises me. They offer beautifully made covers and in a variety of colors (don't worry they have black too) and some really unique styles.
View 5 RepliesAny advice on how to correct the video streaming resolution on my iPad (3rd gen). Specifically when I start streaming a video, the result ion changes to a NON hd resolution. My internet speed is an avarage between 15 to 25 mbs
View 4 Repliesthe Ipad is reported to have a 1024 by 768 resolution but the video app does not seem to support a frame width greater than 640.Evidence : I use one app to convert video to MP4 - most of which I can drop into iTunes and then sync onto the iPad, however I got the occasional error when syncing saying that some of the file where not transferred as they where not supported by the device.after a lot of investigation i notice it was all the MP4s with a frame width greater than 640.Further investigation leads to the fact that the Video playback on the iPhone is limited to 640 - presumable its the same app on the iPad
View 1 RepliesCan anybody advise how to set the resolution of the video higher than 720x576 ? I just can't get it higher.. there isn't any more selection, just 720 x 576 by default.

View 4 RepliesI have all my DVD ripped to ISO. Now, after all the reading, I realize that I will have to convert/transcode to something else before I can stream it to Ipad. Now, may I ask all of you for a bit more info, before I decide on what route I am going to take.1. As I have always managed my video by keeping a completely native ISO file,
I don't know much about various file formats and resolutions, e.g. avi, mpeg, h264. What would be the highest resolution and best format to keep? Since I will have to convert/transcode my ISO to another format, I might as well keep the highest fidelity possible.2.Once I decide on what file format I am going to convert/transcode to, could anyone here suggest a simple program to do BATCH conversion for my hundreds of DVD ISO files?
Currently using a 3g connection the iPad 3G plays very low res videos using the YouTube app.
Youtube site via Safari plays them better but is still limited to 360p.
Any cydia apps that allow full resolution YouTube videos using when using 3G on a iPad?
3gunrestrictor? Yourtube HD? My3g?
I have loads of TV episodes and DVDs which I've ripped to play on my iPod touch so are a fairly small file size and low resolution.
When I transfer them onto my iPad2 they are upscaled to full screen and look awful and distorted. Is there any way I can watch them at their original resolution on the Ipad2 even though there would be a black border around the video?
I got all excited when I read the following in the iPad User Guide (page 131, Settings > Video): "Use the Apple Composite AV Cable, the Apple Component AV Cable, or the iPad Dock Connector to VGA Adapter to connect iPad to a TV or projector. If you're using the Apple Component AV Cable, high resolution videos will be shown in HD quality." I was disappointed, however, when I went to my local Apple store to find the quoted resolution on the Component AV Cable at standard 480p resolution and not 720p HD. I checked with with one of the staff and you cannot find this quoted information anywhere else in either the cables or the iPad stats. He was sure I made a mistake and unfortunately, I could not find this info while I was in the store.
View 1 RepliesThe screen is 1024x768. So I assume that any movie resolution not exceeding this is fine. The question is to those who watches movies a lot. What movie resolution and video bitrate is the best for battery life while the video quality is still acceptable for most of the eyes?
View 6 RepliesI downloaded sketchbook pro today and noticed the only canvas sizes were 1024x768 and 2048x1536. The second resolution is what I need to create backgrounds for the retina iPad but if I want to create an image for a 1080p YouTube video, what would I do? Would I just create it at 2048x1536?
View 3 RepliesI'm really getting annoyed by these black bars (letterboxing the video), 1080p and 720p mainly. So I decided to do something with it. I've read some stuff i found, mainly another forum sources, which said that iTunes won't let me transfer higher res. than 1920x1080.
I thought about dividing iPads 4 resolution by 2, so 1024x768. It keeps the 4:3 ratio needed to go fullscreen without letterbox. But I'm really scared of video quality in the end.
I just bought a new IPAD3. Now when I connect via AirPlay or an HDMI cable via adaptor, I do not get full res on my TV. I see black bars on either side. I can put the TV in wide mode but that stretches the mirrored image which isn't right. I looked up and down for settings on the IPAD that would allow one to choose the resolution going out the HDMI. Now these new IPADs have a 2048 x 1536 native resolution. And most TVs are 1920x1080. So technically the TV should scale down the higher res image to it's native resolution. But for some reason, the video out of the HDMI or AIRPLAY seems to appear more of a 4x3 format. Hence, I'm inclined to believe that the resolution from the HDMI out is probably something like 720x480P. Does anyone have any insight to properly get the higher full res 16x9 video out of the IPAD?
View 2 RepliesWhen iTunes 'optimizes' my photos, it reduces their resolution to the iPad's screen size. I want it to keep them at their current resolution so I can zoom in and still see a decent amount of detail. Is this currently possible?

I'm considering to buy a Canon PowerShot S95 camera. Does anyone already have experiences how well this camera works together with the iPad and the camera connection kit? Will the photo app display the S95's RAW files? And will the iPad play back 720p videos from this camera when transferred with the camera connection kit (not via iTunes sync)?

I have looked for an answer to this question, but I have been unable to find it. I know the anti-glare screen slightly blurs or grains up the display and I know that the Power Support does it far less than any other. I am very tempted to get this, but buying sight-unseen makes me want to ask the question first. How do comics and video fare after applying the screen? As the display isn't as tight as the iPhone 4, I am not terribly worried about the text losing a touch of sharpness.
View 1 RepliesI plan to buy the New Ipad. Most of the videos I have are of the standard 640x246 resolution or thereabouts. Will these videos play normally (full screen) on the New Ipad which has 2048x1536 resolution?
View 5 RepliesI just got the latest upgrade that I installed yesterday from Apple. When my power get's to 90% on a recharge. I am seeing the Power charging icon flash and a constant beeping sound for a few minutes. It's like the power charging is being unplugged then plugged in again. Even if i turn off the device, and plug it in, I get the same results. It lasts for about 5 minutes and then it quiets down again and it appears to be charging normally.
It's an apple charger and and apple cable. I plugged in the same power configuration and I do not have an issue with my ITouch so I do not believe it's power related. I believe it was the last Upgrade because I never experienced this issue with the device and power charging configuration prior. I am on Version 5.1.1 (9B206) and it's a Model: MC705LL

I've always been a little skeptical of covers, etc. Did I make a mistake? Can someone provide some guidance tips / suggestions on how to install this the right.
