Unlimited 3G Option - ATT

Jun 26, 2010

I have been following the forum discussions on availability of unlimited 3G for both my iphone and brand new ipad. I bought mine June 5th and it was delivered on June 23rd. For the last 3 days I have arguing with various ATT reps about the availability of 3G. Two of the most recent conversations were that it was discontinued June 21st! Two reps told me that it would be still available since I bought before June 7. Well, now I receive an email from Apple telling me that the 3G option is still supposed to be available. I just wish that Apple would tell ATT that it is available, 'cause obviously they haven't got the memo.

Unlimited Data Option Disappears

Jun 21, 2010

Even though AT&T's $30 unlimited data plan technically went the way of the dodo back on June 7, the company had assured 3G iPad owners that they'd be entitled to one last hurrah -- buy an iPad prior to the 7th and you'd be allowed to grandfather into the old plan, even if you didn't receive your purchase by the deadline.Problem is, the unlimited plan option finally disappeared off AT&T-connected iPads for the first time today, leaving some of these eligible folks who haven't yet signed up for 3G data in the lurch. Not to worry, though: AT&T says that everyone who's eligible "will be able to select the unlimited plan" and that "details will follow." In other words, we don't know how this is going to work yet, but at least the carrier's aware of the issue. Stay tuned.

Data Roaming, 3g Unlimited, Additional Hotspots? Auto Renewing Unlimited?

Jun 4, 2010

First question. What the HECK is Data Roaming? I get the general idea, but what is it on the iPad? It's not like I have (or had) a contract with AT&T.

How is Data Roaming affected by the new plans?

How does the 3g unlimited plan no-contract contract work with the additional wifi hotspots?

Unlimited 3G Actually Unlimited - Can We Use Air Video ?

Apr 26, 2010

I'm on the fence about selling my Wi Fi iPad and getting the 3G on friday. I know how awful AT&T is with using the network for anything remotely near demanding on iPhones, but how is this gonna work with the iPad, and all these heavyweight network apps?Is there fine print or anything anywhere that says what we can and can't do? Are we going to be able to use Air Video and Netflix, among other stuff?

Get Unlimited Data After My 250 Mb ?

May 12, 2010

I started using the web etc and saw i had used about 30 mb of 250 mb. I then checked my credit card purchases and saw a charge from AT&T for $32 and a charge for $16! The $32 was purchased before the $15. Does this mean I will get unlimited data after my 250 mb runs out? Did I just get screwed?

No More UNLIMITED Data For 30.00 Come

Jun 2, 2010

ATT is NO LONGER offering unlimited data plans on smart phones ( and i think ipads ) come June 7th! This also applies to the new iphone ( whenever it arrives ) I am not certain if this is for the iPad also, but it seems to be???If this is the case, My iPad 3G is going right back to Apple! If i read this correctly, Starting MONDAY if you do not activate your iPad 3G with unlimited data then you will no longer be able to get the 30.00 unlimited plan...BUT for those who dont use the unlimited data every month ( say 1 month on, 1 month off, Then i wonder how that will work? since its pre-paid data plans? ) and if Apple advertises AT&T selling unlimited data plans at 30.00 via ATT and ATT no longer offers these plans, then Apple is mis-leading its customers???? If this is true i can see all hell about to break loose...People who have signed up for the 250mb data plan have seen how much data they burn thru.

Unlimited Data Still Available For AT&T?

Jun 7, 2010

Just out of curiosity I looked on my iPad to see what data plans were available this morning (as I have not signed up for 3G service yet). The new 2 GB plan was listed, along with 250 MB plan. What I did not expect was that the unlimited plan would still be avaiable. I thought to myself that maybe this was just AT&Ts way of extending the offer until people, who recently purchased, received their iPads. I checked Apple's page and they still are showing unlimited data plan is available. Any chance that AT&T decided to keep unlimited data, if only for the iPad?

Any Way Of Getting Unlimited Data On AT&T

Mar 10, 2011

Is there any way of getting unlimited data on the iPad? Kind of like how to get unlimited data on the iPhone 4? I know I'm going to be going over 2GB (somewhere between 4 and 6) since I plan on using this to replacing my iPhone.I was thinking of maybe adding a new line to my family plan for $10 then putting that sim in my old iPhone 3G to get the unlimited data, then putting that sim in my iPad, so for $40 (before my dad's government discount) I can have unlimited data for less than the price of 4GB.Would this work? Or would AT&T change the data plan once they detect the IMEI of the iPad? I know I'm being super cheap with this, but it just sucks knowing that I'll be going over the data plan. I use about 1GB/week on my iPhone and that's only because the battery dies half way through the day.

Keep ATT Unlimited Or Go Verizon For SF

Mar 17, 2012

I have an unlimited ATT data plan from the iPad 1 that I have been using.I live in SF but travel around the west coast periodically.I am wondering whether I should go ATT even though the network is less comprehensive - and maybe slower? - or switch to Verizon.

My only reason I think to stay with ATT is to keep the unlimited package, but I am nervous that a month or two from now they might cap it like they did my unlimited iPhone data plan.

I tried both the ATT and Verizon iPad's at the Apple store in the Marina area of SF, and neither had LTE showing up.

Canceling Unlimited Plan?

Aug 16, 2010

Decided to cancel the unlimited due to not using it hardly at all. When I go through the process it gives me two options 1) Cancel plan and delete account now 2)Cancel plan and delete account later. It tells me if I cancel the plan and the account is not deleted now, it will be in 60 days of inactivity?? Does that mean I cannot go back in 3 months and choose the 2 gig plan? Or maybe I would have to sign up all over again and enter credit card and info?? Just not sure what deleting the account means.

Get Unlimited Data Plan?

Is there anyway to get the unlimited plan on the iPad anymore? Mine just shows 2gb for 25$ and 250 mb for 15$. So is the unlimited plan for 30 gone for good? I want to use the 3G someday, but don't want to be limited to 2gb a month.
