Unable To Transfer Photos From To New Mac -- After Old One Stolen

Jul 29, 2010

My computer was stolen, along with all files in it. Luckily a few days before the tragedy, I synced all photos to my new iPad. Now that I got my new Macbook, I want all my existing photos (10,000+ of them) transferred to the new notebook. But when I open iPhoto, none of my photo on iPad can be seen. In my iPad, these photos are kept in two folders -- iPhoto Library and Photo Booth (they r from the one I took via Macbook). Pls help! iPad holds all my photos, and I cannot take any risk having all my life (including my wedding and baby's birthday pics) in one mobile device like this. I have not tried syncing my iPhone 3Gs with the new Mac yet, from there, I also want all my VDO clips transferred. (But as they are on camera roll, I think it should not be a problem??)

Stolen IPad 2 - Transfer Purchased Apps?

Apr 25, 2012

My iPad was stolen last night. Someone smashed my car window and ran off with the iPad. It has several apps that I purchased, such as Pages, Keynote, iAnnotate, and several others. If I obtain a replacement iPad, can I transfer the apps onto the new iPad, or do I need to purchase the apps again? The iPad was backed up on my laptop.

Also, I've taken the following steps. Anything else that I should do?

- Changed all email passwords

- Changed passwords for cloud storage services and social media sites

- Disabled the iPad apps in the settings of those social media and cloud storage sites

- Changed my iTunes password and revoked iCloud access from the iPad

Unfortunately, I don't have any type of app on the iPad that allows me to wipe the device or lock it.

iPad 2, iOS 5.1

Unable To Transfer Photos

Jun 4, 2010

I downloaded about 2500 photos on to my iPad from my camera while on vacation. When I tried to transfer them to my desktop, iPhoto continually shut down and did not complete the transfer. After several hours on the phone with Apple support, I was told to try a 3rd party software program.

Unable To Transfer Photos Without ITunes

Aug 21, 2010

How do I transfer photos without iTunes?

I'm on holiday in my home country, UK, and have with me:

My new iPad
My smartphone (running Windows Mobile). It uses a micro SD card, so that rules out one route.
My digicam (with standard SD card)

The hotels in which I'm staying typically have a PC with wifi. But they won't have iTunes installed. Nor Windows ActiveSync. But I'll assume they will have an SD card reader. What are my options for getting the hundred or so photos off my camera onto my iPad please, so that I can browse them?

After copying them to the PC, can I use the iPad cable to get them across?

If not, presumably I have to use wifi? But how, exactly? I guess I could use the PC to email each one to myself, and use Mail on the iPad to receive them and hence get them to Photos. But for large numbers that's obviously impractical. Is there some clever way to achieve this? Maybe ZIP them up, and then unzip them into separate JPGs on the iPad?

For future holidays I suppose I'll have to get a Camera Connection Kit, although that seems an exorbitant cost for what seems to be basically a USB cable.

PC
Windows XP Pro

Unable To Transfer Photos From To PC / Only Copies

Oct 12, 2010

I have 5GB of photos on my iPad for which there is no backup.

I originally copied these photos to the iPad from a PC.

However, I accidentally formatted the drive where the photos were stored on the PC. And I've tried to recover them without success.

Is there a way to transfer them from the iPad to PC using an app, accessory, or hack? Obviously, given the number and size of the files, emailing them is not an acceptable solution.

Unable To Transfer Jpg Photos From Computer

Jul 29, 2010

I am having trouble getting any photos from my computer to my iPad. When I drag individual photos there in iTunes I get a message that says "photo cannot be copied to the iPad iPad name because it cannot be played on this iPad". Why I try to transfer photos by syncing the iPad simply stalls on sync - I wait but it won;t comple, even for just one phot in a file. Any suggestions as to why this is? The photos have the suffix .jpg

Unable To Get Back Stolen?

Oct 4, 2010

So I had my iPad stolen from my hotel room about a month ago. It is synced with MobileMe but I do not pay for 3G service on it. I was about to just live with the fact it was gone forever. I filed a police report. Talked to everyone at the Hotel (acting like everyone is innocent) and nothing went through until just now. My ipad showed up on MobileMe maps and it is in NYC Airport (hopefully not on its way to Europe!) Is there a way to have Apple directly find it just through a serial number or something?? Steve Jobs has to have something to help his fellow Apple enthusiasts. Please help! I am so close to getting it back

Unable To Find Stolen

Nov 17, 2010

Today may 29th 2010 My Ipad was stolen from my car,its less than 10 days old.I was at the mall where they have an apple store>I confidently walked back into the mall heading to the apple store knowing for a fact that apple will help me and the police(i filed a police report) to locate the stolen Ipad since it has a built in GPS and i have the serial number. They furiously refused and very coldly and carelessly said that they do not do that and they dont even have any database for stolen apple products and they will not track my ipad what so ever.I sware to god they did not even say sorry for my loss. Here iam walking to the apple store with all confident and hope only to face the harsh fact that really they didn't care.Eventhough they can help and they can track and they have the capability to but they wont. Worse thing is it isn't my ipad and i have to pay for new one now that i cant afford.

Unable To Get Back Stolen ...

Aug 8, 2010

So after one month of ownership I had my Ipad stolen from my hotel room. Sense it was connected to mobile-me, I was able to lock the device, but I am sure it has been wiped by now. Does anyone know if apple can do anything? I would think that the serial number is detected in the sync process, so if anyone adds it to there itunes account it would be visible, but I am probably out of luck.

Unable To Get Back Stolen

Oct 17, 2010

My girlfriend's iPad got stolen the other day. She didn't have a mobileme account nor did she have any other tracking software. If the thief did a factory reset and took out the sim card can she still track it? or is she SOL? Can she find it through iTunes or from the serial number? She is really bummed and I'm probably going to have to work a lot of overtime to buy her another one.

Unable To Get Back Stolen .. ?

Oct 20, 2010

I do not have mobileme because I was planning to sell it. I posted an ad on craigslist. I got a call and met up with someone. I was waiting for this person when someone came out of nowhere and took it and ran. I tried to chased after him but he cut into the woods onto a road. I'm guessing he had someone waiting for him. Anyways, I made a police report already. Aside from that, I don't have the box so I don't know my serial number. I brought a macbook, iphone, and ipad all from the apple store so would they be able to tell me my serial number? I also called my homeowners insurance and they cover theft but I would need proof that I brought the ipad or have the serial number. Can apple provide this? I already read other stories so I know I won't have much of a chance of getting the ipad back. Thus I'm depending on my insurance which I know covers it but I need to know if apple can give me the serial number and proof of my purchase. It's pass business hours so I can't talk to an apple representative currently.
