Unable To Sync / ITunes Not Recognizing Outlook

Apr 11, 2010

I was hoping to sync my new iPad with the contacts and calendar in my Outlook 2007. However, iTunes does not seem to be recognizing that I have Outlook installed. When I go to the Info page for my iPad in iTunes, there are no selections to select from in the "Sync Contacts with" list box. In addition, in the "Sync Calendars" section, it states that "No supported calendar application can be found.". Has anyone had a similar problem?

I have moved my "Program Files" directory over to my D: drive (I'm running Windows 7). Could that have iTunes confused? Or am I missing something?

Information:
Windows 7
iTunes 9.1.0.79

Won't Sync / ITunes Not Recognizing

Apr 8, 2010

Any tips on getting my iPad to sync? I'm running 10.5.8 on an Intel iMac, latest version of iTunes and when I plug in, iTunes does not recognize my iPad, preventing me from syncing. I've used the assistent here on apple.com and done all of the restarting and reloading but it does not work. I have also tried plugging into my work laptop (a Dell running XP) and the iPad is immediately recognized and can sync. All of my music and apps are run off my home Mac so I need to sync there. Any tips so I don't have to wait for a Genius bar appointment?

Won't Sync With Pc / Itunes Library Not Recognizing

Sep 26, 2010

When I first connected my iPad to my PC, everything synched perfectly. After about a week of use I synched with my PC again. This time when iTunes started up it had lost my music library and acted as if the iPad had never been synched with the PC before. I then added my iTunes library back and it still did not recognize my iPad. My other devices (iPhone) do not seem to be impacted. I have restored the iPad device twice and each time when I connect to the pc the second time after restore the same thing happens.

Unable To Sync Outlook?

Nov 8, 2010

My boss has an IPhone and IPad, up until last week they had no problem syncing each other and Outlook (exchange) now they will sync with each other but not with Outlook. When a calendar item is created in Outlook it will sync with both the IPhone and IPad, however the reverse is not true, the IPhone and IPad sync with each other but not Outlook. I tested this on my IPhone to Outlook calendar and it works fine, however no IPAD was in teh mix

Outlook Is Not Sync-able From Work Since They Do Not Allow Personal Use Devices To Sync With Company Calendars

Jan 4, 2011

When iPad2 get released and I can justify buying a 2nd iPad (1 for home use and 1 strictly for business use) I want to officially eliminate using a "paper" calendar at work and home. Until now I have never used iCal or calendar on iPad or iPhone. I've just kept an outlook calendar at work and a paper business planner (dayrunner style).

I want to get out of the stone age and begin to go digital w/everything. My needs are as follows and looking for suggestions and/or apps to meet my needs.

1. Outlook is not sync-able from work since they do not allow personal use devices to sync w company calendars. So I will enter appts/contacts manually into either my MacBook pro/iPad/iPhone but wish everything to sync up wirelessly via wifi (3G not necessary). When In range of wifi obviously.

2. Same goes as above with a "to do" list. Either an app or a calendar w this functionality (must have alerts). I'm talking a line-item style list not just as appt times in a calendar. So I can check things off and add throughout the day and week.

I think the biggest thing is not having to hard-wire sync my devices is the biggest thing I need. And see calendar and to do alerts on both iPad and iPhone is a must, even when phone is in my pocket and iPad in office.

Won't Work With Itunes / ITunes Stopped Recognizing

Oct 24, 2010

Just a quick question. iTunes on my laptop and my iPad have been working fine together for months now, but yesterday, iTunes decided to tell me that "An iPad has been previously synced to this computer."

I don't really sync anything to my laptop; I just connect it to transfer photos/videos, etc. to my apps.

I don't care about the iTunes library, but what I don't want to happen is for my iPad to lose everything on it.

I'm given two options at this point:

"Set up as new iPad" and "Restore from Backup". My Backup is ancient, so I don't want to do that. If I choose "Set up as new iPad" will it erase everything on the iPad and replace it with my empty iTunes library, or will it simply associate this iPad with the library?

If not, is there a way to remove the iTunes library and start anew?

Won't Work With Itunes / ITunes Upgrade Not Recognizing

Nov 13, 2010

I have upgraded iTunes today and now, when I connect my iPad it wants to install new hardware. It recognizes iPad as an Apple Mobile device but says it cannot install the USB driver and sees it as digital camera. I can restore to an earlier version of iTunes but will need it for the new iOS when it is available.

Any ideas please? I think this has happened before but not sure how I solved it.

Why Isn't ITunes Recognizing It As One That's Already Up-and-running

Dec 31, 2011

I also have an iPhone and MacBook, I was already set up with iCloud. So, I set up my iPad without ever connecting it to my MacBook... contacts, bookmarks, etc. appeared via iCloud as expected.

Now I want to sync over some music, but noticed that the iPad wasn't showing up under "Devices" in iTunes. Thinking that I needed to do a wired sync before the Wi-fi sync feature of iOS 5 becomes enabled, I plug it in. It shows up as a device, but my only options are:

1) Set up as a new iPad
2) Restore from backup (a backup of my iPhone is the only one listed here)

What's going on? Why isn't iTunes recognizing my iPad as one that's already up-and-running?

ITunes On PC Not Recognizing IPad 2?

Oct 14, 2011

Just downloaded iOS5 after uploading recent app. purchases to my PC and then syncing the iPad to the PC. I also backed up the iPad before attempting to install the new OS. As the room where I was doing this is some way from the WiFi box, the WiFi connection is a bit iffy, and sure enough I got a message saying if you can't connect via WiFi, plug into your PC and use iTunes, but iTunes refuses to recognize my iPad, giving the message about not being paired.I took the iPad to the same room as the WiFi box and was able to set up the iPad as a new one, and fortunately all my photos are already there, but I hate to think I will have to download and tweak all my apps again. How can I get the PC to recognize that it should be paired with my iPad?PS That should be "my" not "by" in the title. I do hope someone can help me. In the meantime I am downloading and reinstalling my apps but I would hate to have to repeat all the sorting and folder creation/naming for hundreds of photos!

Unable To Use Safari- Not Recognizing My Taps

Jul 15, 2010

I have noticed over the past 2-3 days the oddest phenomenon. ONLY when I use Safari on the iPad a specific quadrant of the Ipad screen does not recognize my tap.

When in Landscape Orientation (with the home button on the right, my taps on the top left quadrant (but only in the viewing area....I can tap on the bookmarks bar, etc just fine) are absolutely not recognized so I can't scroll or click on links that happen to be there. If I start my scrolling from the bottom left quadrant and drag into the top left, it is fine.

Now if I change the Orientation to Portrait (with the home button at the bottom), then it's top right quadrant that behaves this way.Now if I turn it up side down then the opposite quadrant does that.I'm thinking maybe I need to reset / restore. I have diligently cleaned the screen, and I tried the iPad quite gingerly.I can't seem to find anyone else speaking of this problem.
