Unable To Show Graphics Of PDFs Files
Sep 27, 2010i have a pdf file and in the file it has graphics and text. when put it on my ipad, only the text is showing up. any guesses on how to fix this? Information :pc dell.

PDFs Files - PDF Files Size Exceeds ISP
Aug 3, 2010I have a few large textbooks and manuals (between 600 - 800 pages in length and between 25 and 50 MBs in size). I have tried sync'ing them via iTunes and using the iBooks app and I have a wifi data transfer app that I uses to transfer these PDFs to my iPad to read through the GoodReader app.Can't email these books to my iPad as the file size exceeds my ISP email-able file size.In both cases the PDFs are are garbled/mangled unreadable text.If I use preview on my Mac to preview these PDFs, they look and render fine.I wanted to put these on my iPad as it would be more convenient to use as a reference when I am working with certain applications on my Mac. I don't have to have addition windows or Spaces open to go back and forth between the OS X application and the reference textbook or manual.

Apr 7, 2010I have some pdfs of guitar/piano tabs and other school pdfs that I would like to store on the iPad without having to send to my email. I want to have access to them without the use of internet. Does anyone know any apps or any ways to do this?I think a great idea for an iPad app would be to use this as a music book. So for example if you play piano, you could upload some of the tablature you have from garageband or logic and as a specified tempo it automatically turns the page for you... Im not a programmer so I have no idea how to do this

Apr 4, 2011Does anyone know if any of the myriad of PDF apps can save .doc or .pages files as PDFs? I receive a lot of emails that have MS Word document attachments, and I don't necessarily want to open them in Pages, but would rather just view them in iBooks as PDFs.

Sep 5, 2010Last time I saw someone asks why Safari on iPad doesn't show some 1920x1440 jpeg with real size & I solved that puzzle. You have to use a progressive-encoding jpeg. However, I find another different problem.Say, demo.jpg is a progressive-encoding jpeg with 2000x3000 & I upload it to my website. I then access it via url ...demo.jpg, Safari will show it with 2000x3000 size, perfect.
Now I make a most-simple html file named mypic.html. This html has only img tag with src=demo.jpg or src=demo.jpg width=2000 height=3000 inside body. Now I access it via url ...mypic.html. This time Safari show a very small icon of a question mark?

Unable To Show TV Show Titles In Video
Oct 11, 2010This is a new one for me.I've imported some MP4 files into iTunes that I want to be seen in iTunes and iPad as TV Shows. For all the MP4 entries in question I have set in Get Info: Options | Media Kind: TV Show. Video | Show, Season Number, Episode Number, Info | Name, Artist, Album Artist, Album,The videos play fine and show up in a playlist I have (via the iPod app). However, in Videos, I only see a thumbnail and no Text of any kind. If I click the thumbnail, I see a list of episodes but I only see the "Info | Name" - never any of the other information I've entered... to get around that I gave each of the Episodes their own name (i.e. Show Name 01, Show Name 02) but otherwise, I'd never know which episode was which.I'm at a loss and the only two web pages I've seen on this involve iTunes 7; I'm on iTunes 9.1 and I did everything I can think of to have the meta data show up.Information :Core 2 Duo, Windows 7, iPad 64GB with iTunes 9.1.

Feb 23, 2010I am wondering if anyone has insight into if/how the iPad would support working with PDFs and Dropbox. Here is my situation:As a student, I scan my casebooks to PDFs, OCR them with Acrobat, then put them on Dropbox where they are synced between my Mac Pro at home and my MacBook Air at school.I use Preview.app to read my assignments, highlight text, and otherwise annotate or mark-up the PDFs. All those annotations are synced back to Dropbox.This is a great solution as I only have to carry a 3 pound Air instead of 50 pounds of casebooks. The problem is that reading hundreds of pages all day from a laptop is extremely uncomfortable and has been killing my posture and my back. I've been waiting for the "Apple Tablet" to rescue me for a long time. With Apple's decision to use a fairly closed system for the iPad, however, I'm left wondering if I have been waiting in vain.

Jul 18, 2010Am just curious if any of you have found a better app than iBooks or a way in iTunes to organize pdf files. I have 501 pdf files, research reports and the like, that I would like to organize into folders for quicker and more manageable access. Waiting on all of them to load when I first open iBooks is extremely slow. I would sync only a few, but there is no option to deselect all when syncing books/pdfs in iTunes.

Sometimes I can see parts of two fotos on one thumb,Some fotos have very large white areas at the borders after sync,I already reduced the dimension of my very lage photos to iPad screen resolution before sync -> this helps in some cases, but does not fix the problem.The source files are OK.PDFs:Also images in PDFs are distroyed in the same way as described above.Sometimes following pages are lost during synchronisation.
If I send the same pdfs via e-mail and open them in iBooks they work fine mp3s (simple mp3 file with constant 128kb/s):Even mp3s are "scratched" in some parts.Any ideas. I love the iPad, but when syncronising with iTunes i am very frustrated at the moment.The perfect solution would be to transfer the files without any changes by iTunes, but there is no setting for that.

Jun 5, 2010So I've got a TV season that I didn't buy on iTunes (I admit, I burned my own purchased DVD) and I added custom episode descriptions to iTunes for each episode. On my iPad, however, these descriptions don't show up. Descriptions for all my iTunes purchased episodes to appear.

Viewing Files - SSD Show Up
Jul 13, 2010I'm yet to buy my ipad/1st apple product and i have a noob question (only because i've always used windows) when you plug your ipad into your pc does the SSD show up on My computer as a seperate HD the reason for this is i get a lot of my mags(pdf's) on-line and would like to use the ipad to read with them but all i can see is that you need itunes to transfer files across to the ipad is this right?

Sep 7, 2010I have a 3 page sample of a book on my website (generated from InDesign) that reads fine on the Mac Safari and other programs on the Mac.
However, the PDF will only show garbled, overlying text when viewed on the iPad Safari and PDF HD. It is not file size related as I have an 8-page newsletter nearly four times the size of file and also created in InDesign --> PDF that views just fine.
I have exported the PDF and also print to PDF as a new file and it still comes out a mess.
The graphics and music illustrations are ok, some lines of text, and titles. The fonts used are Times TT and Helvetica. There is also a IPA linguistic font used. Basically all other text in the three pages is just garbage.
Anyone else see this happening and how can I fix the situation so clients can see the sample on iPad? Can the imbedded EPS files in the document be what is fouling things up? The illustrations are essential for the sample from the book.
