My household network only allows known (registered) MAC addresses to transceive through the wireless router. How do I obtain the MAC address for my new iPad so that I can enter it into the router's table of allowed devices? Why wasn't the MAC address displayed prominently in the documentation?

My problem is my email is setup correctly and working. However, Amazon.com requires one to enter the email address. After I enter after the @, my ipad breaks my ISP windstream into two words, wind and stream. Amazon will not accept my address. Can anyone tell me why the ipad uses wind stream in lieu of windstream?

I have an enterprise WPA2 PEAP MSCHAPv2 wireless network. It allows access via 802.1x authentication using Radius (MS IAS Server) with certificates. I can join the network, enter credentials (that I can see work) and get the certificate. The problem is that I don't get an IP address. I get a 169. APIPA address. I tried to use a static IP address and that doesn't work either. I have connected various laptops, iPhones even a Dell Streak to this wireless network without issue. My iPad won't get an IP at all. There are plenty of addresses in the pool.The setup is a 3COM WX3008 wireless LAN controller and 9552 access points.Any ideas? I went through the articles on wireless settings and none of them help at all. I guess my next step is to wipe the iPad.Like I said... EVERYTHING else works, every other device we try is surfing just not the iPad.

View 1 RepliesI've been using MAC filtering as part of my home network wireless security for years. This means inputting the MAC address of every device and computer that I want to have connect to my network. So I get my new WiFi + 3G iPad on May 28th and look in Settings to find the MAC address so I can input it into my router info. The router (D-Link) says that it's not a valid MAC format, presumably because it begins with E8 instead of the 00 that all my other devices have. I ended up having to disable MAC address filtering in order to have my iPad connect to my WiFi network. Does anybody have any comments or ideas about how I can get the router to recognize a MAC that begins E8:06 etc.?

Should be a simple question, but how do I remove some of these off my home screen? I do not get an X to close them down like I do with the ones I download. Please let me know your thoughts.

I thought I read thatbthe address bar in Safari disappears once the page loads, like on the iPhone. This isn't the case apparently, unless it's in the settings somewhere? Would be nice to free up some more screen space.
Also would like the address at the bottom, easier to access I thinkmthan at the top of the screen.

View 5 RepliesI have my email address as aol on the iPad, and I also added an email address for my wife with a separate aol email address. When I sent an email from my aol address to my wife's email address it doesn't show up in mail. Only mail for me at my email address shows up in mail. Is it because the iPad is only registered in my name only? In other words is it possible to have both accounts able to receive email under each individual address on the iPad? Both accounts are set up as IMAP on the AOL web site.

Where the settings button, address bar, google search bar was is just now white space. I really don't want to uninstall/reinstall as I have it all set up the way I like.

I find It very annoying having to clear the google search bar in the top right of safari each time I want to do a search.Is there anyway to automatically clear it out in some way? It always has my last search in there.Does anyone else find this annoying?
View 4 RepliesFor some reason my ipad won't send emails. It constantly tells me that the senders address is wrong. I have checked and checked and double checked those settings and all are correct. They are the same as on my iphone and home computer. There is no problem receiving email, just sending. I tried some of the suggestions from this site but was wondering if anyone out there had the same problem and if the fixed it and how?

I am using a the Mac mail for comcast account and a few times it has refused to send, saying invalid address. even though it is reply and the address is fine.
Come to think of it, I am not sure any emails have gone out with that account? My business account works fine.
