A few weeks ago the hard disk on my iMac died leaving me with a year old backup.Well, I'm not totally sunk because about 6 months of pictures and all my movies are still on my iPad.The problem is that I don't know how to get them off and back onto my iMac.Any suggestion on how I'll be able to get those back on my iMac?
Im running a first generation iPad on iOS 5.1, with the latest version of iBooks. I'm opening PDFs in Safari, and then opening them in iBooks. I have to try opening them at least twice, often three times to get them to open.
if I receive a mail with a zipped file my iPad is not eable to unzip and open the file in reality looks at this file like something not treatable i've tried to install some application but the are unuseful to solve this problem
While I was checking mail on my iPad 3, I got some PDF file attachments. I have downloaded them and tried to open them on my iPad. But only some of them get opened while others seem to be stuck on iPad. Is it because of size variations?
I just received a 32gb iPad 2. I downloaded Adobe Reader and i can open small PDF files, 55k, but if I try to open a file with the size of 1.74mb, I receive "out of memory" error. No other apps are running and the system shows 278mb memory free. Is there a limit on size of PDF files that can be opened?
I am able to download mail files, but shortly after they are ready to be viewed the document crashes and the screen reverts to the icons page of the iPad.I've tried converting the files to PDF format with similar results.
i bought an ipad to assist me in my nursing college course. every week i need to read about 20 pdf documents that are within my college website. these cannot be downloaded or saved and must be opened whilst online. my problem is that any pdf's that have diagrams/drawings do not open??i get the first page and a bit of text and that is it? i do not have any additional apps installed that may be intefering, it is as it came from apple?
I am enjoying my iPad very much. But I have been getting some emails from buddys that have wmv videos in them. I am getting a message that says Mail cannot open this attachment. What can I do to view these??
Is there a way to 'Log Out' of a mail account? We want to be able to require a password entry in order to access the configured email account so that our child can't get into the various email accounts when she is playing with the iPad. Is this possible with iPad/iPhone OS 3.2?
We have figured out how to Turn Off the account, but would rather just have the account request password entry upon usage.
Hard drive on my 2007 imac 24 in crashed! My last time machine save was about 9 months ago and Aperture 3 vault update was in May 10.That leaves about 4 months of loss of photos and music files.I do have a ipad will all those pictures in the past 4 months and music. How can I transfer back the files (photos and music) from the ipad/iphone to A3 or iphoto?
I've been searching for awhile but haven't found an answer yet: is it possible to open a link to a .doc file from the Internet and open it with a word processing app on the iPad?
I believe pages does this, but I was wondering if that's for certain and if any other word processing apps, like quickoffice, do it as well. This is for school use: I want to download a word document and edit it on my iPad, then save it to my dropbox account. I don't want to spend all the money on an app just to experiment to see if it will work the way I need it to.
Just picked up a baseline 16GB WiFi only Ipad 2 days ago, and beginning to upload all my work documents onto it. I use mostly Word and PDF files. I've already downloaded and installed Pages, iBooks, and a free app called iPDF.
The problem I have is that I can get Word docs to open up fine, but it seems like the iPad hiccups a lot on bigger PDF files.
i.e., I have a large PDF file that is about 100 pages long, most of which is in xls spreadsheet format, and blueprints of floorplans (schematics). The pages with the spreadsheet loads just fine. Once it gets to the drawings, it chokes. If I try to zoom in, it chokes. If I rotate the iPad, it chokes again. Is there a work-around to this problem? I want to be able to present the file to my coworkers/boss and examine something without embarrasing myself.
2nd question I have is: is the Spotlight the only method of organizing the work documents? Is there no way of, say, creating a folder on the desktop, like my MBP?
Other than that, I'm really happy with my purchase. I don't have to lug around my MBP anymore, instead just whip out the ipad during the commute!
Fairly new to my iPad 3, but a long-time iOS user with an iPhone 4S. I have an iCloud email account along with my work Exchange account. iClous is the defaul email account. For some reason, any time I restart the iPad, Mail opens only in my iCloud inbox, and not in my unified inbox. Can't find any setting relating to this action. My iPhone 4S consistently opens in the unified inbox, with the exact same email accounts running the same 5.1.1 system with the same settings. A small bug, but kind of driving me nuts anyway. Am I missing a setting somewhere to fix this issue?
Hi guys, im having a serious problem here with my ipad , when i click on appstore and i choose a free application it says either make a new account or using existing one, when i make a new "free" account and everything is ok it says in the end go to your inbox to confirm the registeration !! But the problem here, is where the heck is the inbox?? Where can i confirm the link to activate my account to install free apps? Help me please im just fedup with my old apps like 2 months with a boring apps please help where can i and how to confirm where is the inbox
I have three email accounts on my ipad2.Yahoo, Gmail and a pop email.I use the yahoo for "registration crap" so it gets a lot of junk. My gmail is more filtered and finally my pop is my main email.I am recieving mail fine, but when I try to delete everything in my inbox it just comes up with 25 more ( older dated) emails to fill up my inbox. It keeps filling up with older emails from March now. I like to keep my inbox cleaned out on my mobile devices and this is causing me much grief!
Opened a mail attachment (a spreadsheet), probably via pdf reader but could be good reader as I have that app. I cannot return to my inbox and the doc is there when I close and re-open mail or where I switch off the ipad and re-open mail. The ipad is otherwise functioning normally. Mail attachments have previously functioned normally - i.e. a back button appears on touch so it return to inbox. Am a bit worried about re-setting as not sure what that will do to other programmes.
While I was checking e-mail on my iPad 2, I got stuck with two of them. I canít delete those mails and an error message "Unable to move message to Trash folder" is popping up whenever I try to delete it. Is there any way to delete the same?
My folders for my yahoo mail are not there when I hit the mail icon all I have is inbox, trash, and drafts but none of the others are there on my yahoo mail account I have them on my other mail account.
When the iPad backs up I know the files are kept within the iTunes files but my question is does each back up wipe out the previous back up, or can I back up to a specific back up that has been made. I would like to back it up to the 31 may as on the 1st of June my iPad wiped some of the info I had on it whilst charging over night.
