I keep getting the error message "Unable to generate a public / private key pair for new supervision certificate." when I try and load a profile in to apple configuratior. Even if it is a profile I just made up on the spot!

I've configured a server instance in DEP and successfully enrolled an iPad with OTA Supervision using Casper 9.4. I cannot figure out where it got the Supervision Profile from, and why it correctly states the name of my school district. I did not upload it anywhere that I remember.

You know, when we need to connect to some public wifi, oftentimes, it might require us to login with some credentials. This is the problem I encounter. Wonder if anyone has similar issues and some possible ways to address it. Thanks in advance!
After selecting the SSID from the list of wifi spots; a Safari page will appear, requiring you to login with some credentials. Sometimes this takes a while, sometimes it is faster.
During my recent vacation, I am able to key in the username/password, but when I click on "connect"; nothing happens. Even when I waited for, like, 20 minutes to see if anything comes up; nothing.
Hence, I thought it might be an issue with the hotel's free wifi (note that at this point in time, both my iP4 and iP3GS had no issues logging on in the same way).
Just today, I tried logging into the free wifi at our community library. Again, after selecting the SSID, keying in the username/password and clicking on "connect" - nothing happens! Again, both iPhones are able to log on in the similar fashion. But iPad - nothing.
Any idea what might be the cause? I can logon to my home wifi (thank GOD!). But from time-to-time, I face the issue of the iPad telling me, "Unable to join SSID".
Is it likely a hardware issue?

I'm in a public location trying to connect to am open wifi. My iPad just sits with a 'connecting' icon on the page and finally stops without making connection.
I'm supposed to be brought to a login page where I accept the agreement to access the net. I never get that far. I can't get it to do anything.
However, I'm sending this using my iPhone which went through the setup progress just fine. I opened Safari, accepted the conditions and now I'm surfing via wifi.

I just got off the phone with Apple support and they tell me that the Ipad doesn't work very well with WEP due to some technical issue. For home use that's fine i can change my router to WPA but anywhere else it's usually WEP, such as motels and WiFi public locations.
So if you think you are going to use your Ipad anywhere else than home, watch out, and be ready for trouble.The support guy says that Apple is aware of this situation and is probably working on it now.It's a shame, isn't that what the Ipad is all about? Someone tell me to take it back and get a new one and see if it works?

View 5 RepliesWe currently use WPA Enterprise and we require the network to be configed manually to get it to work on a windows 7 pc.
We have to create the Wireless as so:
Network name: XYZ
Security: WPA-Enterprise
Encrypton type: TKIP
Under Properties for network... we need to change PEAP and uncheck Validate server certificate
Either we enable single signon if it's a domain joined PC and tell it to send user info from logged in user...
Or we store user info for non domain joined PC's.
Ok so that's how we get a PC running windows 7 to join the network...
I can't get an Iphone running 3.1.3 or an Ipad wifi model to connect.

I had paired my apple wireless keyboard to my ipad. The ipad then said it was not paired. I unpaired it and now I can not get it to repair. I have taken the batteries out and I can not get it to recognize it and then to pair it.
View 7 RepliesI have an original apple wireless keyboard that I use with my iMac. My iPad discovers the keyboard in Bluetooth but does not allow me to pair it. The only time the iPad reacts to the keyboard is when I press the enter or return keys during the pairing process. When I do the iPad displays a brief message that shows the passkey to enter then immediately goes away and displays a message that the keyboard pairing failed.
View 6 RepliesI had been using the Altec Lansing in motion Soundblade bluetooth speaker with my iPad with no problem. I brought it on vacation and paired it with another device, and now the iPad will not pair with it. It finds it when it searches, but when it says "not Paired" in the box next to the device number. When I choose it to pair, it thinks for a few seconds and goes back to not paired. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have one mail server that for outgoing email only supports SSL. There is no plain SMTP server available. But the certificate used on the SSL server is invalid: it was issued for another server name In Outlook I get a warning each time I try to send mail, but I can continue.On my iPad however, I can't get this SMTP over SSL to work I get the message 'certificate invalid', and when I click 'Proceed', it's waiting and waiting without anything else happening. Is there a limitation in the Mail app on the iPad that it completely refuses connections with invalid certificates? Is there a workaround?

Using iPhone configuration utility 3.5.0, Is it poosible to import a perosnal certificate using a .pfx file.
When I try to miport it only lists certificates in the personal certificate store on windows machine? It doesn't allow me to import a certificate from a file.

The problem is that for some reason with older (model A1016) Apple keyboards the iPad is not coming up with the screen to provide the pairing code to enter on the keyboard. To see what I mean;
First on the iPad turn on bluetooth then cycle the power to the keyboard so that it is discoverable. When it shows up in the list as Apple Wireless Keyboard, click on it to attempt to pair.
It will just sit there forever.... now watch the iPad screen carefully and hit the enter button on the keyboard. You will see a message box pop up that tells you the pairing code that it had expected you to type in.... even though it never poped up. It goes away too fast and you just get an error.
When I hooked up the iPad to Xcode and watched the console information:

I thought I would be slick and be able to see the debug of the pin in the console BEFORE it errors out. However it only shows the pin AFTER you have already clicked enter and then its too late since it uses a new random pin every time.

I just bought my iPad 2 WIFI less than a week ago and has been able to use my 3GS 3G connection with the iPad 2 via Bluetooth. Today however, the bluetooth just dosent seem to work. I have already tried removing and repairing them, but I got an error message "Pairing Unsuccessful" I even tried to switch both of them off and back on and also reset the network settings with no avail.
Also, on the iPhone, now it list the iPad as "iPhone (Please Report)"
I Have purchased new Bluetooth device. Sony model no sr-x2. When trying to pair iPad the device is not located. I have no trouble with my Samsung phone. I have previously had another Bluetooth and did not have this problem.
