Hide The Sub Folders In Mail Inbox?

Mar 28, 2012

I setup my office imap account on my iPad's mail and have approximately 100 sub folders that I can expand or contract on my PC in my Outlook inbox that are now appearing on my iPad's screen. I cannot contract those sub folders on ther iPad and I only want to see what is in the main inbox. Is there a way to hide these sub folders? All I want to see on the screen of my iPad is the main inbox, sent items, outbox and deleted items.

Mail Attachments / Unable To Return To Inbox

Jul 14, 2010

Opened a mail attachment (a spreadsheet), probably via pdf reader but could be good reader as I have that app. I cannot return to my inbox and the doc is there when I close and re-open mail or where I switch off the ipad and re-open mail. The ipad is otherwise functioning normally. Mail attachments have previously functioned normally - i.e. a back button appears on touch so it return to inbox. Am a bit worried about re-setting as not sure what that will do to other programmes.

IPad 3 Mail Always Defaults To ICloud Inbox Instead Of Unified Inbox?

Jun 10, 2012

Fairly new to my iPad 3, but a long-time iOS user with an iPhone 4S. I have an iCloud email account along with my work Exchange account. iClous is the defaul email account. For some reason, any time I restart the iPad, Mail opens only in my iCloud inbox, and not in my unified inbox. Can't find any setting relating to this action. My iPhone 4S consistently opens in the unified inbox, with the exact same email accounts running the same 5.1.1 system with the same settings. A small bug, but kind of driving me nuts anyway. Am I missing a setting somewhere to fix this issue?

Unable To Send Mail From Yahoo?

May 18, 2010

Hi. Like many other people, I am having a problem with e-mail, too. All the servers are on. I went to "Options-Mail-Accounts-Servers, etc" in the iPad, and followed the instructions I found from Apple, to make sure I can send e-mails. However, I cannot send e-mail from my Yahoo account. Furthermore, I cannot find the "switch to classic view" option, as has been suggested earlier. I looked all over for it.
Also, in my Hotmail account, when I reply to mail, I cannot see the original e-mail, which makes it very difficult to respond to a long e-mail when you cannot re-read it. I am used to modifying the sender's e-mail, sometimes, too, but this is , obviously, also not possible. Why can't I see the sender's e-mail? My 3rd and final account, AOL works properly.

Unable To See Images In Yahoo! Mail In Safari

Since 2 days ago, I haven't been able to see any images in my e-mail (Yahoo! mobile mail) using the Safari in my iPhone 4 and iPad 2. This happens in both 3G and Wi-Fi mode. I've checked the Safari setting and found out that the Cookies and JavaScript are already enabled. I've even restored my iPad to an earlier backup (in which I'm 100% sure this issue didn't exist).†

My friends are able to see the images on their Yahoo! mobile mail using Safari on their iDevices though.†

Unable To Push Mail To Folders / MobileMe Not Pushing

Sep 22, 2010

The server side rules for Mobile Me mail is welcome. So all mail from work can be sent directly to a folder called "Work"

However, mail is not pushed to any folders other than InBox so there is no notification that new mail has arrived in "Work". In fact mail is not downloaded to that folder until you access it on your iPhone/iPad.

If you have many folders then the only way to know if mail has arrived is to laboriously click on each one.

Anyone have any ideas? Is Apple going to fix this basic problem that should have been considered when introducing server side rules?

Email Notification On Folders Within Inbox

Aug 20, 2010

I have my ipad set to PUSH emails from my exchange account at work. When I recieve an email into my inbox everything works fine I get the email notification sound and a number 1 appears next to the mail icon on the home screen. However in Outlook I have several folders set up which mail will go directly too instead of into my inbox to keep things nice and tidy. So say if I recieve an email from Fred Bloggs it goes directly into my Fred Bloggs folder instead of into the inbox. My Ipad recognises I have recieved a new email by making the notification sound HOWEVER a number does not appear next to the mail icon on the Home screen. Is there any way of making the mail icon on the home screen display the number of new emails in folders as well as the inbox or does it just monitor the inbox

Yahoo Folders Missing?

Jun 14, 2010

I apologize if this has been discussed already but when I read through some of the discussions, well frankly, I became more confused.

I have a MBP, an iPhone and the iPad. My iPhone displays all the same Yahoo mail folders which appear on my MBP Yahoo account. However the same is not true on the iPad. Is this even possible? I'm not as computer savvy as most so the terms POP and iMap confuse me. I expected the Yahoo mail to look the same on the iPad as it does on the iPhone, which looks like the Yahoo mail on the laptop!

IPad 2 :: Reset My Mail Account In Mail Gets Error Message "apple.impa.mail.yahoo.com" Is Not Responding?

Aug 31, 2011

I brought a 64Gb IP2 in the US and they set it up for my email account in the store. It's wi-fi only, not 3G (hope that is the right term to use) as I have Iphone4 and didn't see the point of carrying the IP2 around for i'net.Anyway, it worked fine in my house in the UK off my home router (I think it asked me for the password etc for the router when I 1st used it), made a noise when new mail arrived (at least that's what I think it was) - all was well.I work in Oman, so have brought it with me and we have wi-fi in the office and my Ipad picks up internet, yahoo, google, the UK newspapers etc etc and my yahoo mail (but only via the yahoo.com site) + all other i'net sites without problem. However, I tried to send something via pages to my work email account, just experimenting with the whole thing really, but nothing happens. No error message and non delivery.

So, I check my email in settings and also try to reset my mail account in mail, contacts, calendars & after trying to verify it, it comes back with an error message "apple.impa.mail.yahoo.com" is not responding. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the "incoming Mail Server" field. The primary server of the account is Yahoo!SMTP server and it's switched to on. The outgoing mail server is Yahoo!SMTP Server. This is now the limit of my Ipad logic trail . Can anybody help me set up my yahoo account so it works and also so I can send pages please?

Unable To Find The Downloaded Mail

On my Macbook Pro all attachments are available to be opened when I'm not connected to the internet. I assumed this was true with ipad but could not open attachments on plane yesterday. Unable To Find Mail Print Icon

Nov 25, 2010

I have an HP Photosmart C7200 printer and am using Printopia to print via 4.2 and AirPrint. This works fine for both Safari and for Photo, but there is no appropriate print icon in Mail.

All three support printing so I don't see why Mail won't show a print icon (I know, could be a Printopia issue). Anyone have any ideas? I've cold started my iPad, forced Mail to quit and then restart, etc to see if maybe that would clear the issue. At this point I can't print via Mail. General :: Update Not Send Yahoo Mail Using IPad 4 Mail App

Nov 18, 2014

When ii try to send mail from the ipad mail app th has always worked befor, on both machines I get the message -- "Cannot send mail. The connection to the apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.com failed".

When I tried deleting and reinstalling that mail account on one iPad I couldn't put in the smtp.mail.yahoo.com address for outgoing mail since the iPad comes back saying that it can't set up smtp for that account. Nevertheless my Yahoo iPad app still continues to work on that iPad.
