Unable To Connect To Wifi Due To Incorrect Password
Jun 22, 2010
So I'm sitting here at the car dealer getting some service done and they have a sign indicating free wifi Internet service.
Nice. So I try to log on with the iPad...15 times. I think maybe I'm typing the password in wrong or they changed it so I try on the iPhone. Works the first time. I am still unable to connect...it says incorrect password.
Is this the wifi problem wveryones been talking about or am I missing something? Any suggestions?

I just bought a Ipad 3G 64Gb. In my home it can connect to my WPA wireless network fine. At job there is a WEP WiFi network wich I cant connect I'm sure the password is fine but always I get "Incorrect password" error. I tried with my laptop and Iphone 3G (IOS 4.1) with no problem, but with the brand new Ipad there is a issue I tried by looking information about this and it seems is a IOS bug
I have an iPad mini and it will not connect to the internet. I put in the password and it will tell me incorrect then i try again and it will say unable to connect. It bounces between these 2 error messages. Now I have internet, my computers work just fine. I have restarted it many times along with re booting it. Other than throwing it against a wall I am at a loss. It is my daughters iPad and she is freaking out!...
1. My ipad just disconnects from my home Wi-fi network sometimes. It only happened twice. But, I went from my basement to first floor. What the hell? Was wi-fi issue this bad?
2. My ipad is keep asking me to type in my wi-fi password. What the hell!? This happened like 6-7 times in a day. Why? Am I doing something wrong? Or do I have a defective unit? Please be so kind to advise me on what I should do? Go see an apple Genius? I just got my ipad yesterday from apple.com.
Can someone help me please, i cant connect my ipad to the WiFi, this happens :If you cannot tap Join, the password is too short for that Wi-Fi network. I already have 2 iphone and 2 laptops connected with no problems. Netgear DGN2000
Currently I use Beam Cable (Hyd India). I am able to connect to the wifi router through my Ipad.. However in the login page when I provide the user name and password the following error is popped up:
Login Failed.. If Login fails with the correct username and password, it is possible that you are not permitted to connect from your current location. Contact your service provider to determine whether you are permitted to connect from your current location..I have been chasing beam cable but no help till now ..
New iPad 64GB Wifi. Works with WiFi at work, but with my home computer (Dell) and DSL (Verizon Westell 7500), I get the "Incorrect password" for my network error. The iPad finds the network, it just won't connect. I've tried it with the iPad on the same table as the router. Have tried numerous times, so I'm sure I'm typing the password correctly. Have rebooted everything. Fujitsu tablet (also Windows 7) works fine.
I have had this same issue on the iPhone for a few years and now have it on the iPad. I have setup my personal account and can successfully receive email. However, sending email is problematic as it always incurs the error:
Cannot Send Mail The user name or password for "SMTP:<my email address>@<ISP's SMTP server>" is incorrect.
The user name for my email account is my email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) and the SMTP server is of the normal form mail.isps_domainname.com.
The error message suggests that Apple's mail utility is joining the username with the SMTP address with the @ being the conjunction. If it is doing this, it is wrong as it is screwing up the user name. Is there anyway to stop the Mail utility from doing this?
All of a sudden I am not able to send email with my yahoo account. I can receive email, but when I try to send emails they go to my outbox and I get an error message that says, 'username/password incorrect'. I have been using this account for months and have never had a problem until a couple of days ago.
it happens often in wifi nets at hotels, airports , etc. I insert into appeared browser username and password but nothing happens! absolutely. And Apple4 and Windows notebook connects without a problem.
When I search for wifi connections, I will find connections that are full signal and do not have a lock (password protected). Yet when I try to connect, I get an unable to connect error message. If it is not password protected, why can it not be accessed?

it connects just fine to neighbor's wifi, which is not password protected, but our wifi will not connect. Also would not connect out of state at our two kid's homes on their password protected wifi. Actually it did connect briefly on one of theirs, but never since. I have reinstalled our Linksys and it just won't connect...frustrating to say the least!
I was given an iPad as a present in the UK and now I'm home in Brussels I can't get it to connect to my home wifi, despite it working perfectly well and the wifi being connecting to the laptop and other devices all okay. I know the password I enter is correct but it still won't let me 'join' anything.
I am from Zhejiang,China, my friend bought a IPAD from US, but he can not surf the Internet, we need we should first set the internet, but we don't know how to set it, we are both novice, so please be specific, if with presentation, that would be better 1. we can see the APPLE NETWORK in the list, but can not surf the internet, we don't know why; Should we choose "automatical setting" or "manual setting", what URL should we input? IP address?,etc.2. and if we want to use our own private wireless internet at home, how should we do, each time when we come to this steps, we don't know how to proceed: Settings > Wi-Fi > Other and enter the Wi-Fi network name, security, and password to connect. Which security we should choose? If there is no password for our own wireless network, what we should type in the blank,No
After introducing the wifi password, the Ipad doesn't seem to be able to connect to it, and the circle keeps running and I cannot re-enter the password as it keeps busy trying to connect to the wifi network, WHat can I do?
Connection worked yesterday, but today, can't connect. It gives the error invalid password, but the password hasn't changed. My iPhone doesn't have any problem, enable, disable, delete and re-setup - no problems at all, but the iPad won't work. Nothing has changed in the Linksys/Cisco Wireless Access point, Model WAP 11. Any ideas or solutions? I don't have the ability to disable security or change the password, the WAP is used by many in the office for testing phone software over wi-fi. No other devices are having the problem. (we write phone software and have 100's of devices). iPad is the only device with this problem.
after about an hour still no email. i removed, synched, and put in manually all info. I called my ISP and they wouldn't help me. Says it's apples problem. I have even searched Google over the last week and i still can't figure out what's going on. Does anyone out there have a clue what the problem is?
In the past several days, every time I would try to open "Safari", I'd the Incorrect Wi-Fi Password (Cancel - Join) pop-up window. It shouldn't be doing this. Annoying. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.
I am trying to connect my iPad to my Wi-Fi at home, it used to work just fine. Now, when I try to connect and asks for password, I get a message saying "incorrect password". I've used this password in my other computers at home, but my iPad does not seem to get connected to it. Any suggestions besides reseting networks, etc.
I am trying to set up an account on my iPad, but just can't seem to get it to work. I already have other accounts set up and they work fine.
I enter all the correct information for using IMAP, etc. Then it tells me it cannot get mail since the user name or password are incorrect. They ARE correct. I have this account set up on my MacBook with no issues using all the same information.
So, using all the same set up and credentials I set this account up on my iPod Touch with no issues last night and it worked just fine. Today it isn't working the same. It is keeps telling me Secure Connection Failed.
Any ideas out there to help me out.
