I am unable to view the Chat Box on Facebook on my iPad. I see it on my desktop computer but it does not appear on my iPad. Is this an Adobe Flash issue? Help would be appreciated.Information : iPad iOS 4.
I have noticed that Safari on my iPad will crash out while I am checking my Facebook. It usually happens when I reach posts that are about 12-14 hours old. I tried clearing my cache (thinking that might be responsible), but it didn't seem to help. Is it possible that I am running into some sort of wall as far as Safari's buffer is concerned? Anyone else having a similar problem?

So I loaded up facebook.com the first couple nights w/ my iPad, and everything was perfect. I was wondering whether or not the chat functionality of the site would load properly, and happily for me it did. I was able to chat on facebook.com the same way I do on my Firefox browser on the desktop PC.
But, the last couple of days I've tried it, the chat functionality does not show up on the screen at all. Where did it go? Why would it work the first few days, but then not at all after that? And I'm not using the app (yet) because 1) There is no proper iPad facebook app yet, and 2) if I do it through the browser, I can still browse around the web in another window and switch back and forth. I'm just trying to figure out why it was there in the beginning, but gone now.
Has anyone noticed that the ability to chat on facebook (via the regular Safari web page, not the iPhone app) has completely disappeared? It worked originally (although a little buggy with the chat window/bar not being anchored to the bottom of the page). Now the chat option has completely disappeared. Information : MacBook Pro 15" (late 2008)Mac OS X (10.6).
Not sure if anyone knows about this, so I decided to share with everyone. To access Facebook Chat, login to your account, then type this in your address bar - http://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php. It looks pretty nice and let's you talk with multiple people easily.
Recently when trying to use the Chat feature of Facebook running under Safari, I've been having the chat dialog portion of the page clear every time someone sends a response. The only way I can see the response is to do a refresh of the page, and sometimes the it takes 3 or 4 tries to refresh without it getting stuck halfway through or popping up a chat error message. This started happening about 2-3 weeks ago. I'm using the link http://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php to access the chat function. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm wondering if it is related to the loss of the zoom functionality on Facebook pages that recently came up?
i got a wi fi keyboard for my ipad it all works ok eacept when i go on to facebook and i type with the keyboard on the ipad everything is fine it all works but as soon a i connect my wi fi keyboard and go to chat on facebook the send botton diserpears and when ive typed what i want to say and pushed enter it goes onto another line why is that.
My facebook chat sidebar that used to be on the right hand side of the screen as I face it has disappeared. It may have been around the time of a facebook update, I am not sure. It showed a list of my chat friends and indicated who was online and I used it all the time.
It has suddenly been replaced with a list of trending topics (possibly on messenger) and adverts. There is no little gear wheel to click on to enable/disable the chat sidebar, it has simply vanished!
Is anybody else experiencing the loss of the Facebook chat popup/online notification window (you the little window down in the bottom right corner of the page) on their iPad? Information : IPad iPhone OS 3.0.
I was wondering can the Ipad do video chat on facebook, windows live messenger and skype? Like let say can a Ipad user do video chat to someone on a smartphone or laptop who is using facebook, windows live messenger and skype? Is it possible to have skype, windows live messenger and facebook chat open or online while doing other things with the Ipad?
When I try to play videos on Facebook through Safari on my iPad 2, it shows black video and says ‘need flash player to play the video’. I was able to watch those videos two days before. I don’t know what happened now; can anyone help me locate the issue?
Since the iPad can run all iPhone apps, why can't I view all iPhone apps from the app store ? I thought they were going to make the iPad variety more obvious or up front, but not hidden.
I just don't see a way to browse all apps. Like games for example on the iPhone app store side their are categories for different types of games. No such thing in the iPad store. (I mean for all the compatible apps from iPhone )

I got my iPad2 and would like to video chat with some out of state relatives. I've never video chatted (ipad2 is my first computer camera) and they don't have an iPad to do Facetime. Can I use the camera to do other video chat like maybe Yahoo or something common they can use? They have a web camera but don't know much either.
I'm using Skype for iPad2 (not iPhone version) and I got problem after I start a chat session with my friend. Now I cannot close the chat window or if I got messages from other contact, i won't be able to see it. If someone call or video call me, I'm still able to answer it as the screen will pop-up automatically. I cannot find any close/Done button in he chat window on Skype version iPad.
As of today Facebook has decided to switch to it's mobile version of the site on the iPad with safari, which is HORRIBLE. Does anybody know how I can switch back to the regular view (without switching to a different browser)
