Unable To Verify Exchange Account Password/how To Break The Password Prompt Cycle?
May 28, 2010
I'm unable to successfully create a Microsoft Exchange account on my iPad. The steps I'm following:
1. I enter all data except the domain and save to create the account
2. Turn on the wifi (I was getting a continuous string of "Unable to Verify Exchange Account" cues when I tried to create the account with the wifi on)
3. Once the wifi's on, I receive an "Unable to Verify Certificate" cue, which I accept
4. I'm then asked again to enter my Exchange account password, which I enter and am prompted again for my Exchange account password, which I enter, and so on and infinity.
I've verified all the entered fields (including the password) with my IT folks, including that mobile access to my account is enabled. I know the settings (including the password) should work, because they're the same ones I'm using for Entourage on my MacBook Pro.
Any ideas on how to break the password prompt cycle or alternative account generation methods I could try?
iMac, MacBook Pro, iPad

I've got a feeling I'm simply nitpicking here, but I'm having issues setting up my Exchange account on my iPad (and iTouch). The only way I can get it set up is by going through my companies OWA server (webmail.company.com). I've tried entering the server I use at work (cty-52N-EXM01D.abc.acme.com), but just get the "Unable to Verify" messageFWIW, I'm almost certain my companies IT Dept considers the iPad - and anything else from Apple - to be a toy.
Everything was great until I lost power at my house. Now, the iPad keeps asking for the password for the Exchange Account. What is the exchange account and how do I get a password? I've tried all of my home wi-fi passwords but nothing works.
I just got an iMac and I wanted to get iCloud so I could sync everything. I have a Microsoft exchange account as my work email. Now when I try to open my iPad it says Password Incorrect for the Exchange account "Exchange". I don't know what to do. I can't get past this error message to even get into my iPad.
Suddenly getting this mail error message on my iPad3. I enter the correct password (works fine on my pc) but iPad doesn't accept it. It won't accept the 'cancel' button either, so I'm stuck on this screen, and can't use the ipad.
After upgrading to iOS 5.1.1, Safari keeps popping up a dialog asking for my Apple IS password. I have closed all tabs and started from scratch, and restarted. The dialog seems to pop up whenever I click on a hyperlink or go back to my iGoogle home page. When I hit Cancel, nothing bad seems to happen, but it is an annoyance.
I have an ipad previously used by someone else. I have updated the App Store user settings to my own but everytime I try to do anything I am prompted to enter the password of the previous user's itune account.Only option on password promt or Ok or Cancel. (I thought Apple knew user interface - where is the option to change the user ID?) Any ideas how I can enter MY itunes accounts and get rid of this annoying prompt?
I replace my ipad 2 today and have done the update from backup, but i now have a prompt screen asking me for my Facetime password. i have entered every password of mine i know and it wont accept it. i cannot do anything else on the ipad. it is basically locked out until i have a password accepted for this box. it wont even let me turn off the ipad and i cant get to any other apps.
How do I change the auto ID prompt when the window pops up for my password when I try to install App updates? I've changed my ID but the old ID is embedded in the password prompt and I can't work out where to change it. So I'm unable to install any of my App updates.
I removed the FB app when I got this iPad, about six weeks ago.
Everything was fine until last week, and now I get this pop-up message every 5 minutes or so, prompting me to enter my FB-password in 'Settings'. But Facebook in Settings is greyed out and not accessible. To make sure, I reinstalled the Facebook app, but same thing.
It is really annoying, especially as the prompt will interrupt and pause movies.
I restored my iPad 2 from an iCloud backup I then was prompted for my email and password to restore my apps which I then typed in, then two different email addresses prompted for their password. Has my iPad or apple id been compromised?
Just got 4. 2 on my iPad. Downloaded Find My IPhone, entered account details (the same Apple account I used to create an account on this forum just now) but it says not verified. The only thing I can figure is that earlier today I associated a new email account with Game Center.
But I can still use the original account to dowload apps (and create an account on this forum), and I have resent and reverified the original account, yet MobileMe says it cannot verify. Anytone else having this problem?
I normally am able to access my workplace email (via Microsoft Outlook Exchange) on my iPad. I was required to change my Enterprise (and Outlook) password on my workplace computer. Now iPad will not accept the new Exchange account password which renders all other functions on the iPad inoperative. How do I bypass that Exchange password prompt?
I have the ipad 3g, I setup the 3g AT&T account but my credit card expired and now I forgot my password. I have tried to do the forgot password process and filled in the email address that I used to setup my account. I followed the process and I never get the email with the recovered password. I use road runner and they have previously blocked domains but I do not know what domain the reset password comes from so I can contact RR support to get them to find out why this email is not allowed to pass to my RR email account.
