1. I have the USA Today app and I guess whe I set it up I did something that sends me notifications, sound and banner. How do I cut it off?
2. Is there a way to get sound alerts when email is received even if you're not in the email module? Let's say I'm working a crossword and I get an email. The only way I know if I have mail is go to mail and check.
I have my gmail account push email through microsoft exchange with my iPad to get gmail, google calendar, and google contacts synced. I was just recently fiddling with this, and the mail notification sound now "dings" twice exactly when I receive this message. This is great, but I'm surprised that it makes the sound twice because I could have sworn it only made the sound once before I changed some settings a day ago
I like the idea of using Notification Center to give me a small alert when I get an email but am using another app. But I am getting alerts (appear as a momentary bar at the top of the screen) for new emails even when email isn't running. This confuses me as I wouldn't think the email client is checking for mail or knowing any exists on the server unless it is running.
Can I turn this off or otherwise configure it differently? email is not running. I know how to close apps and am sure it is not running.
Can't reply to email on iPad. Have read questions and replies about needing to use outgoing server for data provider. I don't know how to find that. I have wifi, but haven't signed up for data service yet.
Received an email and it would not delete. Every time it would go back to home page and any other emails I deleted would return. I deleted the whole mailbox. Went into mailbox online and deleted all emails and readded mailbox on ipad and now says 2 new emails but nothing in box.
I get links that are numbers, like tracking numbers and instead of opening the page in Safari, it ask to create a new contact or such. How do you turn this off. I just that to click it and open the appropriate link associated with it.
I get several emails a day with numbers a links, and so far this have been a real headache.
I received what appears to be an app called Zoosk in my email. It will not allow me to delete it. The only option when you touch on it is to open and then it wants you to download. When I try to delete it in the normal fashion it will not show up as a deletable file. How can I get rid of this. It appears as a header when I open my mail file.
I placed my order for the new iPad last night, and like many others I never received a confirmation email. I did check many times on the website and my order had been received under my account. This morning however, my order isnt there. My card does have a pending charge from Apple Web Store though. Apple Customer Service doesn't see the order in my account either. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I don't want to order again if it still is in their system somewhere, as a charge has already been place on my card.
received an email that they are phasing out iworks. does this mean that they will have a new document storage or i need to find a new one? if i need a new one, whaat do you suggest to be compatible with pages and keynotes (is that an issue at all?)
Today I received all of my notes from my iPad 2 in my email account. I now realize that I had turned sending them on, have turned that off. Is there any way to get them back? I need them for meetings on my iPad.
