Taking Much Time For Turning Off - Stuck On Screen

Sep 9, 2010

I have done this before by turning the iPad off (hold down the top button until the "Slide to turn off" appears but suddenly the darn thing does not turn off.It LOOKS like it is turning off - I slide the red slider and get a spinning ball for a brief time, but if I plug in or just hit the bottom switch, bingo, it pops back on instantly. My first thought was maybe I'm just not giving it enough time, but no, I gave it fifteen minutes and it still was not really off.

Taking Much Time For Turning Off - Finding Normal Time

Just curious how long the iPad is taking people to turn on (from power off to lock screen). One of the few things I don't like about the iPhone is the wait time from power off to functionality.

Battery Stuck After Charging And Turning Off Glitch?

Jun 21, 2010

I have a replacement iPad after a dead pixel on my first one, noticed two things with the replacement:

1. The battery percentage after charging today is stuck on 100%

2. When I turned the iPad off to see if that reset the battery the unit seems to turn off, then comes back on and then switches off properly.

Anyone else had either of the above happen?

IPad 3 :: Stuck In A Loop Charging / Turning On / Restore And Then Running Out Of Battery

Aug 21, 2014

The other day I decided to give my Ipad it's long awaited system update, alls good, it starts installing I go to bed, however during the night it must have run out of charge as it died. Now I am stuck in a loop of it charging, turning on, asking to be restored and then running out of battery again (or so it says).

I reckon the problem is the brightness is at max and the restore screen does not seem to turn off, so it sits there draining what little battery my ipad has accumulated in a never ending loop. My charger isn't apple branded but it runs at 5.1 volts (I believe that's just over 2 amps?) I think that is enough although I could be wrong? I was hoping you good people would be able to tell me. If it is meant to be enough, is there any way I can turn the ipad off during this loop at any point while still charging it?

Reset Taking More Time

Nov 2, 2010

Does anyone know what the iPad is actually doing during a hard reset? I only ask because it literally takes me 5 minutes or more to boot up during a hard reset these days. Took less than half a minute when I first got my iPad. Wondering what could be causing the delay?

Taking Long Time For Backing Up

Sep 23, 2010

I've been trying to update the OS to the new 3.2.2.2.2.2.2.2.whatever and the I-Pad wants to back up. I left it alone and came back over three hours later and it was about half done backing up. This is not the first time. I had basically given up backing up because of this. So I can't even get the update at this point.

Unable To Sync / Taking Time

Jun 28, 2010

Just noticed that my iPad (wifi) is not syncing the clock to the apple server and therefore seems to be 'losing' time. I notice that there are a few discussions around with no definitive answer. I don't believe this is a hardware or even firmware issue... but I might be wrong.
Syncing to computer helps for a bit but then it drifts again. Powering off and on doesn't help either.
Anyone else having this issue?

Information:
iPad 32gb WiFi
iPhone OS 3.1.3

If I sync Contacts only, then it will be a few seconds.. but when I start to sync my iCal .. it neer ends .. even after a couple of hours. I am not syncing anything else at the moment. General :: Notifications - Turning Them All Off For Finite Time Period?

Dec 2, 2013

I'm talking about when apps pop up notifications on your screen right over whatever you are doing at the moment....I want to turn all of them off for a fixed time period....like from when I say no pop ups until when I say they are ok. Can this be done?

I hate when they pop up when I'm giving a presentation or something. It will be something silly like the Magic Piano or Sing! with a new song. I don't want those coming up in the middle of what I'm going. The Magic Piano always seems to send out pop ups at 2pm...yeah, I can turn that one off, but I really would rather have the feature done the way I want it done.

BTW, these are called "Banners" in Notification center. I want to disable them all, for any app, before a presentation and them re-enable them afterwards.
