I've been trying to sync IE bookmarks but whenever I check the box then apply the check clears and the iPad and iTunes start syncing. From time to time iTunes will even prompt me to merge or overwrite bookmarks on the iPad. Of course no bookmarks have ever synced between the two.
I don't use any other items under Info and have no other issues when transferring music, apps, movies, books, or podcasts.

View 4 RepliesI purchased my iPad on launch day and began using the mobileme 60 day trial, after finding I had no use for it I cancelled it, but now I'm having many issues.
First off, once I cancelled mobileme, everything on my iPad and iPhone doubled in Calendar and Contacts, which I've since solved, but when syncing my iPad with my iMac, in iTunes - iPad>Info>Other, it only gives the option to sync notes and states
"Your bookmarks are being synced with your iPad over the air from MobileMe. Over-the-air sync settings can be changed on your iPad."
The problem is, I see nowhere to change any such settings on the iPad.

Currently I'm using Chrome on my PC and I love it, but I'm open to trying another browser if it syncs easier. I rarely physically connect my iPad/iPhone w/ my PC to sync w/ iTunes since the new update lets me do it wirelessly. I'd like to be able to bookmark things on safari on my iPad/iPhone and be able to view them on my PC and vice versa. I've tried some bookmark manager sites but I'm not impressed w/ any thus far. I resorted to bookmarking via Instapaper for a while, but it's still not what I'm looking for.
Quite recently I noticed that changes made in my contacts are not available in my iPad contacts. After cutting off the iPad sync and deleting it, I reactivated Contacts and the iPad file is empty, whilst the MobileMe, iPhone and Macs files are OK. What can I do ?

I sync my safari bookmarks between iPad and Mac mini via iTunes and USB port. Last four times went fine, but today all my bookmarks are a mess after the sync. Most folders are duplicated, some are out of order, and just a few are okay. Good thing I had a time machine backup. And I already gave up on syncing my bookmarks using mobileme, because that is even worse. What is going on?

View 4 RepliesI have just received my new iPad 2 and have set it up successfully and managed to sync everything except bookmarks. When I try to do this it comes us up with the error message: iTunes could not sync infomration to the iPad because a sync session could not be started.
View 1 RepliesI have been manually syncing Firefox bookmarks with iCab via Dropbox and months.But I recently noticed that iCab now does automatic sync with Firefox. I am already doing this on two Windows machines (Win 7 and Win Vista). But, when I try to set this up on my iPad gen 3 (iOS 5.1), it will not validate my login although I am definitely using the right username, password and sync-key and leaving the server name blank.
UPDATE 3/30/12: The new version of Sync now uses a key instead of a pass phrase. I created a new key on my Windows 7 desktop and entered it in the proper box of both my Windows Vista laptop and in iCab on my new iPad. The key created on the Windows 7 desktop was accepted on both my Windows Vista laptop and by iCab on my new iPad. BUT. The links added on the Windows 7 desktop appear on the laptop running Windows Vista (once I did a sync), but do not appear in iCab on my new iPad. And in iCab, I do not see any way to do a manual syn. I rebooted iCab but that did not do it.
I've been giving some thought to getting a iPad mini 2 to use primarily for email/web surfing and since I know very little about iOS or iCloud I was wondering if it's possible to sync my email and browser bookmarks between the iPad mini 2 (probably will have iOS 8.x) and my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6.8) so that they remain the same on both.

My wife has bought a MacBook Pro and I have put Outlook 2011 on it. Can I sync my iPad's contacts and calendar without syncing with iCal and Address Book as these will have my wife's contacts and calendar which we don't want to mix. iTunes only allows syncing with Address Book and iCal.
View 2 RepliesI have asked all my iPhone/iPod/iPad owning friends this questions and none of them ever seem to sync their devices with iTunes. I, however, DO sync my iPhone 4 to iTunes about once a week and make a backup in case any problems come up.
So my question(s) is/are--
My iPad 2 should be coming in a few weeks. When I hook it up to my iTunes, will it allow me to just sync all the same apps that I have on my phone? Will it let me pick and choose which ones I pull over? If there is an iPad specific version of an app I have on iTunes, will it notify me first?
How to handle it when you have multiple iDevices syncing to the same iTunes? Just trying to do a little planning ahead.
I have the new ipad, and upon syncing, the ipad screen will turn off after a few minutes but the iTunes can't recognizes the iPad anymore. It says "Waiting" but then when I switch the screen back on, the syncing stops.
