Occasionally when I turn my iPad off I get a spinning wheel for a number of seconds before it shuts down. Then when it is turned on again it spins again. The apple logo does not appear until it is turned on again. Is it some kind of house keeping being done by the system?
The cog wheel next to the signal strength indicator spins constantly when online or in any mail account. It won't stop even after all of the mail is loaded or the web page is displayed. I don't think this is normal and it seems to be depleting the battery.Information :MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.6.3).
I was using my ipad 2 when suddenly the screen turned blank (black) with a loading spinning wheel in the middle. I put it on charge for an hour now and it's still the same. I pressed the on/off button but nothin's happening.
IPad :: Stuck On Spinning Wheel And Won't Come Back On
Aug 28, 2014
I am really upset because my ipad wont reset and it is stuck on the spinning wheel. I went on find my iphone and I reseted my ipad on that app and now it wont even turn back on I have tried everything and nothing works.
I have had this ipad for 8 months now, and the last month and a half it hasn't worked. This started 2 months ago when I was on it, and it blacked out and put a spinning white wheel in front. When I charged it with my iphone's adapter (because the ipad's one broke) then it worked again perfectly. Another night when I was trying to use it, it did the same thing again, but then it blacked out and spinned for hours, without even opening. It spins even after we charge it, or during then when it looses all of its battery it stops.
IPad Air :: Spinning Wheel When Press Link For Internet Site
Aug 7, 2014
Sometimes when I press on a link for an internet site, my iPad takes me right there and the spinning wheel is gone in what seems like a fraction of a second. Other times, the spinning wheel never goes away. This is even though the web site opens and seems like it is "all there", ie, all the viewable material seems to be open. Other times, it seems as though maybe there is a box or area in the website that remains blank, like there is something there that is trying to open up and appear but doesn't. This latter experience seems to happen to me a lot at the New York Times website. Not so much when I press on the link that takes me to the Times' main page. But when I press on an article on the main page, the article will open but the spinning wheel just turns and turns and never goes away.
I have tried holding down the "home" button and "on-off" button at the same time. I have tried doing the reset under "settings". Neither of these approaches makes any difference.
So I guess I am wondering whether what I am describing necessarily is a flaw in my iPad or could it be that the sites for which the spinning wheel never goes away have a "flash" box on the page and so this is just something that all iPads experience on some web sites. Especially at the New York Times site?
The cog-wheel-like WiFi activity indicator (next to the WiFi fan) is continuously turning when I use Safari. I have tried clearing the Safari cache and history, shutting off the WiFi and reconnecting, closing Safari and restarting, even turning off the iPad and turning it back on. Still, whenever I go into Safari, the wheel just keeps on turning. I am able to use Safari, but this apparently constant activity is worrying.
Switching Off - Small Spinning Ring Is Still Spinning
Jun 7, 2010
When i turn the iPad completly off from the switch on top and then slide to shut down and after the little spinning ring dissapears after around 5 secs the device seem to be completly off...But when i decide to switch it back on say after 2 mins with the power switch on top the small spinning ring is still spinning and does this for around 5 secs again then goes blank, then i have to hit the power button again to start it up again, then the apple logo appears and starts to boot up.Has any one had this problem? Does it seem to be a software or hardware problem? Can someone try this with their iPad to see if it effects their deviceIt happens only say every 2 out of 5 reboots.
If I try to shut down normally using the on/off in the corner, a little wheel starts spinning in the middle of the screen and stays there and stays there and stays there. Finally after about 2 hours I did a hard boot and shut it down. But when I go to turn it off again the same thing happens??? Every time I try to turn it off the screen goes black and the little white wheel in the middle spins and just stays there.
I upgraded my iPad to iOS4 yesterday and have sense noticed that while in Safari the progress indicator never stops spinning. I've also noticed that while in Safari with this progress wheel spinning away I can see the battery indicator drop at an alarming rate compared to prior to the upgrade. I don't remember seeing this progress indicator spin constantly like this before the upgrade and thus I'm wondering if it is linked to the shortened battery life. I'm also courious as to why it is constantly spinning, weather it should be constantly spinning, and if not how to determine why it is spinning and how to stop it.
IPad 2 :: Stuck On Between Apple Logo And Wheel Of Death
Jun 21, 2012
I have a 16GB WiFi only iPad 2 5.1.1 Updated Resupported, restarted springboard and that's all. After that, apple logo shows up, than wheel of death turns and stops time to time, then something weird happens -attached: - and all this happens over and over again. Pressed home and power buttons for 10 secs but the same. What should I do?
Cursor Just Keeps On Spinning And Won't Let Me Do Anything
May 13, 2011
When i pull up itunes on my laptop the cursor just keeps on spinning and won't let me do anything. If there is an 'update' it seems to work ok. I am trying to learn how to sync things to my ipad from the laptop.
I've had this for 2 months and it has been great until this morning. I tried to turn it off and it is just stuck on the spinning shut down circle on the black background. Won't respond to anything.
My iPad was just playing up as I was trying to get Goodreader to email a rather large PDF file so I decided to switch it off and restart it.However now it looks like it's stuck with the spinning thing on it. Tried connecting it to iTunes but I get the error "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE800065)"
