I am trying to figure out how to make iPad sort episodes by episode number rather than strictly by alphabetical order.
I bought the original Wifi Ipad on Apr 3. Transferred all my episodes (which are all coded correctly with Season and Ep #) and when I would select "24", they would all list out by episode # rather than sorted by title. Same with 5 other TV series.
I returned my Wifi and now own a iPad 3G and put everything back on it, but no matter what I try, everything is sorted by title, which makes watching TV shows in order completely useless.
I know some will say "just add a 1- in front of the title." You shouldn't have to do that.
Anyone know the trick to get iPad to sort by Ep#?

Is there a way to contol the sort order of Postcast episodes so that the newest episodes are a the top of the list? Example, l have 34 "This American Life postcast" episodes. I have listen to all of them, when I new episode become available I would prefer to have it appear at the top rather than the bottom.
I ripped a few DVDs, copied then to iTunes, then properly labeled each episode, and tried syncing them to the iPad. The episodes are now on my iPad, but the problem is that they are listed in a random order, not in order of episodes.
So I've ripped TV series via Handbrake and plugged them into iTunes, assigned the correct episode number and everything. However, when I sync it to my iPad and go into Videos, they're in a completely random order and this makes it a complete pain to know which episode is next. I've looked, and I've searched, and I have nothing. Any help? Anyone figured out this stupid problem?
I renamed photos on my PC to force the sort order I wanted. When I synced the folders up to my iPad, I all of the photos got moved over to albums on my iPad, but the sort order is not correct. What am I missing? Can I reorder the photos within the albums on myiPad?
When I sync photos to my iPad, the sort order seems semi-random. I would think it would be sorted by date photo taken, OR file name but the order is neither of these and I don't know how to affect the order.
I have a sequence of 5 photos that I wish to play in a certain order. They were taken in a sequence so the file names are sequential. But the order is first, last, second to last, etc. The first one is first but the remainder are in reverse order. I have tried to name the photos, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 but the order remains 1, 5, 4, 3, 2 Anyone know how to control the photos sort OR more importantly the photo position in a slideshow?
Is it possible to sort emails on the iPad into the order in which they were sent? I ask because my ISP has taken to redelivering emails that are months old and they appear as current emails which is very confusing to a bear of little brain such as I.
Apologies if this has been dealt with elsewhere - I can find posts about sort order for TV Shows and Movies but not Music Video's. When I sync my music video's the appear in Track order in the video app and I cannot find how to change the sort order to 'by Artist' (or any other order come to that).iOS 4
Is it possible on the new iPad, to watch TV show episodes? Example: Can I go to CBS.com, The Good Wife, select a previoulsy aired episode and watch it on the iPad, OR does the absence of Adobe Flash player prevent this?
I am very disappointed by the regression of the application 'photos' after upgrade to 4.2. Before, iTunes was synchronizing properly the sort order on iphotos on the mac. However, since the ipad was updated to 4.2, the sort order on the ioad is definitely "oldest photos first".
Which made the thing useless for me, as I don't want to scroll down among my 15000 photos and events to lok at the more recent one.
While I was using IOS 4 with my iPad 2, photo application does sort the photos according to the date taken from the data. Since upgrading my iPad to IOS 5, the photo application is using some other sorting scheme which causes no noticeable effect on the photos. What has to done to fix up this issue?
I have updated to ios 5 and restored...at the same time i also added a new external drive for all my music and video...this is where the problem started...i cleaned itunes lib's and changed all paths and checked things were working, but now when i drag some tv shows to the ipad, only 1 of say 5 episodes show up on the ipad, you can see them in itunes on the ipad but they are not there...i have backed up and wiped the ipad and started all over again, same problem...

My photos display on the iPad in descending order, earliest to latest, which makes it agonizing to scroll all the way to the bottom to see the most recent ones. In iPhoto on my mac I have the order displayed correctly--descending--but it displays in reverse on the iPad. Can anyone think of a solution?

I have several seasons of Battlestar Galactica that I have ripped from my DVDs using Handbrake with the Apple Universal preset. This content is shared via home sharing on my Mac Mini which I use as a media center/DVR (EyeTV, etc.). I am able to view this content on my MacBook Pro.With the introduction of iOS 4.3 I was expecting to be able to do the same on my iPhone with home sharing, but this unfortunately isn't the case. None of this ripped content is even displayed in the shared library on the iPhone. However, if I change the type of video file from TV episode to movie in iTunes this content becomes available on the iPhone. What gives? Are there some metadata tags that need to be changed? If so, what? And what is the best software to do this?
I have both my iPad & iPhone set to sync TV Shows with the following setting: "Automatically include the 5 oldest unwatched episodes of all shows" When I have shows that are marked as watched they do not sync to the iPhone 4 (which is correct) but they continue to sync to my iPad. I cannot seem to keep them from sync'ing to the iPad. I don't want to manually control it on the iPad as I'd like to just keep sync'ing the episodes I've not watched yet (as I've done for ages on my iPhone).
I can't find a definitive answer to this. I want to download TV episodes and connect iPad to my large screen HDTV. One of the techs at the Apple store said neither the VGA or the other adaptervkit will work because the iPad is no equipped to do it. Has anyone tried this and why would Apple sell adapters unless they spell out the use limits?
synchronize podcasts with video episodes (example CNet TV) select any podcast with video episodes start playback (in iPod application) of any episode wait when episode was finished how to get podcast list of episodes?
I can get only thumbnails preview for all Movies / Podcasts, but can't back to particular podcast episodes list. I should back to main screen than start using iPod application again.
When I delete an episode, I have the choice of keeping the file or sending it to the trash bin. I don't understand why I'd want to keep a file when I'm deleting it. It seems a nuisance to me to have to keep choosing this every time.
When the get more episodes facility for podcasts disappeared from iPad with iOs 5.0, a significant drop in user experience occurred. Yet on iPhone, the get more episodes facility remained. Out comes 5.1 and who'd have thunk it? Yes, there are new podcast features on iPad but the return of get more episodes is not one of them. Whoever it is at Cupertino who reads this forum needs to ask themselves this question. If someone downloads podcasts, which feature is likely to be more important for a user: providing a means of rewinding 30 seconds, changing playback speed or being able to get another episode without the hassle of navigating to the itunes store to then search for the podcast and find another episode to download? Why is it that one can use a get more episodes facility on iphone but not on ipad?
I have bought a TV show in HD in the iTunes store, so I now have both the HD and SD files of each episode. For viewing on the iPad, I would like to sync only the SD versions to save some room. However, no matter what I do, iTunes will always sync the HD version. Just deleting the HD version is not an option, since I want to keep it for viewing on my ATV at home. Is there any way to force iTunes to only sync the SD versions? What's the purpose of the SD versions if there is no way to sync them?
