Scrolling Windows In Safari

Nov 21, 2010

I goto college online and it's set up like a forum. Inside the forum, there is a scroller to read all the posts but I can't scroll in it. Instead it scroll the whole page, not just the window on the page. So how can I scroll in that little window instead of the whole page? (this is on my new iPad by the way.) I just got it a few days ago and have tried searching but found nothing. Thanks fir any help.

Scrolling Within A Window On Safari?

Jun 9, 2010

I have read that you use two finger scrolling and for the life of me I can't get it to work. I have tried multiple websites where scrolling is needed within a window and all I can get it to do is scroll down the entire web page not the widow that needs to scroll down.

Scrolling In Safari - PDF Readesr

Jun 3, 2010

If I scroll horizontally or vertically in Safari the direction of movement remains locked until the screen stops moving or I stop it and then change direction I.e. If I start scrolling horizontally I can just change direction while the screen's moving. My iPad doesn't do this in other apps like PDF readers.

Scrolling Within Frames In Safari

Nov 18, 2010

Scrolling in frames, using browser base on-line e-mail, Safari web browser, composing in a text window or box.I've notice when at my yahoo e-mail account that I can't scroll in a frame like I could on a regular computer. I know there is the Mail app, but I want to use a browser. And I don't have external application permission for all of my on-line e-mail accounts. And as I cut cost at home, pay for e-mail service days are numbered.Without the ability to scroll, parts of messages are hidden. As well as item list are cut off, as when looking at my "inbox" the message list is truncated. And you can't just simply swipe your finger and bring up those hidden msgs or lines of text.Even while writing in this box, I cannot scroll to see text as it disappears to the out side of it. Luckily I have the compatible keyboard and the arrow-keys will allow me to see the completed message."

Scrolling In Safari - Moving The Directions

Jun 4, 2010

If i scroll horizontally or vertically in Safari and then try to change direction while the screen's still moving the direction remains locked in it's current direction. The only way I can change direction is if I stop the screen moving first (or wait for it to stop) before changing direction. Is that the same on every iPad or have I changed a setting somewhere? I'd prefer it if the direction wasn't filtered and I could just change direction in the middle of a scroll.

Safari - Scrolling Stops Loading

Mar 9, 2011

I have just noticed this since doing the update. Go to a website, I used engadget as it's a good heavy one to test, the very start of the web site comes up, then start scrolling the screen down the web site to the bottom, then up again to the top, then down again.

The loading of the site stops dead in it's tracks till you stop scrolling. I'm sure it did not do this before, yes, it slowed it down, but I'm sure it kept loading.

It almost seems like today's 4.3 update has changed something and now scrolling is taking 100% iPad power and no new data can be displayed till you stop. Is this just me, I can't go back to 4.2 now to double check.

Whilst 4.3 does indeed render the web site faster which is great. I'm sure I used to be able to scroll down and the data kept coming in/being displayed, unlike now where the blue downloading bar stops dead till you stop scrolling.

Black Flicker While Scrolling In Safari

Apr 16, 2011

While quickly flick scrolling through certain web pages, I often get glitchy black bars at the top and bottom of the page. They run the width of the page and are anywhere from 1/4 to 1.5 inches tall. If I scroll up, I get a flicker of black at the bottom. If I scroll down, a thinner area flickers at the top. It looks like bad video RAM.

If I force quit other recent apps, it goes away. I have no other video or graphic issues or glitches.

Glitchy Scrolling In Safari - Choppy Black Bar At The Top If Scroll Downward

Mar 24, 2011

Weirdness on iPad 2 in safari. On certain pages, like ilounge.com for example, I get random bouts of glitchy black bars at the top and bottom of the page if I scroll quickly...choppy black bar at the top if I scroll downward, and the opposite if I scroll up. Seems to happen on image heavy sites, not as much if at all on more text based sites like forums. Problem goes away after I clear the cache but comes back. Don't seem to recall this happening on iPad 1.

Something strange started happening yesterday, when I open a new tab in safari the new page has links to windows and hotmail embedded in the top. I'm not sure how it has happened, it doesn't seem to have any effect on browsing but I'm a bit concerned as it doesn't seem right.
