My safari has seem to crashed. I guess from bookmarking adobe files or something but in any case whenever I open up safari and I touch the address line, my iPad kicks me out and goes back to my home screen. I can't even type in a google search or address of that's what I meant. I cannot use safari whatsoever I checked the setting and theyre all normal. I've rebooted several times by holding down home button and power button and still the same result.
I am often using the Apple bluetooth keyboard to work on my iPad, but I realized that when bluetooth is on I have no way to get my iPad on screen keyboard to reappear. I was wondering if anyone knew how to do this without having to disconnect bluetooth each time.
I can't search in Maps for iPad since it quits every time I try to type something into the search line. I tried restarting the iPad and even restored it from iTunes. Still can't search without it shutting down.
Information: iPad 3G iPhone OS 3.1.3 sync with MBP, iTunes 9.x, OSX 10.6.4
I was trying to log into a forum but my keypad kept disappearing. By using two hands and being very quick, I was able to eventually get my username in the box (pop it up and quickly try to tap a letter before it dropped down again). I haven't had problems here or anywhere else but I am wondering if there is a way to lock the keyboard to the top of a screen if it happens again?
Am having lots of issues to the point of almost giving up on it and selling it. Most recent for acouple of weeks, google search bar goes blank almost every time I type into it. Bing works! so I set safari preferences to use Bing, but it still uses google, even after I've typed in a phrase on Bing gone to a site on bing, it will revert back to google search. Now tonite it took me to results on Bing, I clicked on a site and it took me to a Yahoo search page.
Second problem for about a month now can't download apps. It says to connect to your computer and go to ITunes on your computer. sometimes it says app has loaded but won't be available til you go to ITunes on your computer.
Third, lots of problems using Netflix, which is what I got this for. Can't access queu, can't manage queu, takes nine or ten attempts to get anythhing to happen, and Always drops toward tthe end of the movie. Then 8 have to go back thru all the steps to bring up the same movie or show again. Lots of freezing up online. Im using Airport Extreme with latest software version.
I've been unable to log into cbsnews from my iPad. I can log in from my PC without problem. When I try to login from my iPad the login screen pops up for a second with a cursor blinking in the e-mail field, the iPad keyboard shows for a split second then disappears again. After that, tapping on the e-mail field has no affect, and the keyboard will not reappear.
The seach box is really annoying because it always looks like it's empty, but then I click it and I am typing text after my last search. How do you get it to clear after a seach? Why would I want to search the same thing twice?
I just bought PAGES and was disappointed to discover there seems to be no way to do horizontal pages. So I moved to KEYNOTE. All was going well with inserting images and putting in cutlines and then suddenly I can't get it to call up the keyboard. I think I'm doing everything I did before but the keyboard does not appear when I go into the "tape here to add text" fields.
The onscreen keyboard on my iPad Air (ios 7.1.2) disappears abruptly while typing in a text field. Each time I was typing in the Spot Light search field (or any text field for that matter) I took great care not to tap the area on my screen other than the keyboard just to be sure the keyboard doesn't disappear on its own. I've also tried the hard reset by pressing down the power and the home button simultaneously. These fixes were only temporary and the issue in question has been coming back rather intermittently. It is very annoying to keep swiping down to open the spotlight search field each time the keyboard vanishes for no apparent reason.
I am a new iPad user. Safari has crashed...first going back to home screen twice and then crashing completely. The icon remains, but all pages are blank ie untitled. I have restarted...situation persists. How do I I resolve? What is causing this?
Since iOS 8.1, when I am using the Google search engine, the iPad Air standard keyboard (not a third party keyboard) disappears after the first letter is entered into the search box. The box is moved to the top of the screen and the keyboard is not visible. It is as if it has started the search after the first letter is entered into the box. It is not every time, but most of the time, probably about 90%.
This also happens on web pages. Various ones.
I do not have any third party keyboards installed, therefore I am not using one either. The iPad has been turned completely off, all apps have been closed down, all the things we are told to do have been done.
I have not been paying attention as to whether it is happening in Pages, Numbers, etc. I don't think it does. I have been using them the last couple weeks and don't recall it happening with those two apps. I think it is just in Safari.
I am using an iPad Air (the largest storage capacity) and am running iOS 8.1. I would post this in the general forum, but my husband is using an iPad Mini and has not said he is having that issue and I don't see it happening on my iPhone 5. Both of these are running iOS 8.1. Therefore, I am thinking it is an iPad Air issue.
After updating the iPad with the new operating system, I noticed Safari disappeared and found no solution. Apple personnel had me restore the iPad system (which wiped out all the settings and caused me to lose numerous documents). But after the restore, I had Safari...until I again set up my email through Exchange Server. I can set up Gmail and my email through MobileMe and there is no problem. But setting up my email from Exchange Server causes Safari to disappear every time. Likewise, if I delete the email from Exchange Server, Safari is suddenly available and working well.
If I leave my onscreen keyboard on, the keys type by themselves. I have to keep restarting my iPad. Is there a way to calibrate the iPad? If I do the soft reset, will it delete all my apps, music, etc?
Doing a lot of PhotoShop work at the moment, i've need to utilize a larger display. I've therefore had to put my laptop to the side an connect a larger display to use primarily.
Now (noting i'm on PC), I have a mouse but not a standard USB keyboard. Is there a way I can utilize the iPad's soft keyboard to type on my PC? I remember using an iPhone app once to do this, but never seen it done on iPad
I've been searching all around, but I just cannot find an app that I am dying for.
I have an old X-Keys that is great, but not as customizable as I'd like. I thought for sure there would be an app on the iPad that could replace it.
An app where you can define buttons on the iPad (in pages, or sorted in whatever way), so that when you hit them, they run a command on the mac. This could be a keypress, a series of keypresses, a AppleScript, an Automator script, iTunes...whatever.
This is somewhat doable using TouchOSC and OSCulator, but as far as keyboard commands, OSCulator only supports a single keypress or key command, so I can't program one to type "Graphic" for instance, without going through some pain. This is an example from TouchOSC.
Has anyone heard of an app that does this? If I knew how to code apps, I'd make this in a heartbeat, and then retire in the mountains.
I've now had my iPad 2 for a week and overall I'm very pleased with it. Besides my gripe with Apple for not including wireless synching (something I've discussed in detail in other threads, so I won't tread there again) my only issue is with the keyboard. Now, I consider myself a fairly quick typist and I find the keyboard, while generally good, misses letters while I try to type. I assume this is a responsiveness issue. Is there a way to improve the keyboard so that I don't have to slow my typing?
Since the recent software upgrade this week, my pop-up keyboard gets in the way when I try to type low down on the screen. I've had every generation of iPad and this didn't happen before, because the screen would move up, keeping the typing from being hidden behind the keyboard. Now if I move it up manually it slides back down. It's happening in several different apps and in some cases (e.g. In Keynote) makes it all but impossible to type anything. What changed and how can I fix it? Please don't tell me to buy an external keyboard, I like doing all my typing on the screen and I'm hoping it's just some setting I've inadvertently changed.
