Safari Unable To Recognizing Some Text Entry Fields
Aug 22, 2010
I have noticed that there are some instances where Safari and other browsers don't recognize a field on a web page as being one for data entry. I run a number of websites using the Joomla content management system and the editor for entering content is a wysiwyg editor. When the editor is in the wysiwyg mode, Safari, Eyebrowse, and iCab do not recognize that I can type into the editor. If I toggle the wysiwyg mode, I can enter data with no problem.I have tested 5 different editors plugins, and each has the same result. I have a work around for the time being, and have put in a bug report to Apple. Has anyone else had a similar problem and has anyone found a solution?Information : 2 GHz Intel Core Duo Mac Mini, iPad 3G 64GB Mac OS X (10.6.3)

I like the Atomic browser, but on this forum I can't reply to a thread with Atomic, the text entry box is greyed out.Same issue for creating new threads...I can type in the title, but not the main body of text.
Whether I go to Google Docs, or Editgrid, I can't seem to get it to enter the password securely. Instead of the bullets in the password field, I get the actual password showing up. Is there a setting somewhere to force secure password entry in secure fields?
I am having issues trying to type into fields in Safari. For example, I attend the University of Phoenix Online and I can't type into the text fields for posting comments. Other areas I experience problems is with blog posts, like on www.bakersfield.com (local newspaper). I believe these fields are JavaScript fields, but I am not sure. If I try to type in these fields Safari freezes up and I have to force close... Any suggestions?

I have noticed over the past 2-3 days the oddest phenomenon. ONLY when I use Safari on the iPad a specific quadrant of the Ipad screen does not recognize my tap.
When in Landscape Orientation (with the home button on the right, my taps on the top left quadrant (but only in the viewing area....I can tap on the bookmarks bar, etc just fine) are absolutely not recognized so I can't scroll or click on links that happen to be there. If I start my scrolling from the bottom left quadrant and drag into the top left, it is fine.
Now if I change the Orientation to Portrait (with the home button at the bottom), then it's top right quadrant that behaves this way.Now if I turn it up side down then the opposite quadrant does that.I'm thinking maybe I need to reset / restore. I have diligently cleaned the screen, and I tried the iPad quite gingerly.I can't seem to find anyone else speaking of this problem.

Cannot Input Any Text Fields While Viewing PDFs On The Ipad
Apr 11, 2012
I currently cannot input any text fields while viewing PDFs on the ipad using any free PDF readers. (PDF reader, ibook etc) 2) PDF forms that have been filled out come through empty/blank. Is apple coming out w/ a fix for this? If not, what can I do to view and input text fields?
I am a minister and have access to several sites with Bible translation. With my iPad I cannot seem to select text so I can copy and paste it into Pages. These sites are public domain so there is no copyright problem. I can do this on my MacBook Pro with Safari, but not with iPad Safari. Any ideas why not. I actually was able to do it once, but then I could not duplicate the action. Information : MacBook Pro 2.2 Ghz. Mac OS X (10.6.2).
Delay In Appearing URL Entry On Safari Address Bar
Jul 15, 2012
Each time I enter a URL address into the address bar of the page opened through Safari on my iPad 2, the second letter typed will appear several seconds after the first letter. This causes much delay in redirecting to the page specified in the URL address. How to avoid such delay?

Safari Web Pages Not Recognizing Username And Password
May 31, 2012
When I browse websites via Safari on my iPad 2, I am not able to access websites which need username and password. Is this some issue with Safari browser? Is there any way to sort out this issue?
I was hoping to sync my new iPad with the contacts and calendar in my Outlook 2007. However, iTunes does not seem to be recognizing that I have Outlook installed. When I go to the Info page for my iPad in iTunes, there are no selections to select from in the "Sync Contacts with" list box. In addition, in the "Sync Calendars" section, it states that "No supported calendar application can be found.". Has anyone had a similar problem?
I have moved my "Program Files" directory over to my D: drive (I'm running Windows 7). Could that have iTunes confused? Or am I missing something?
Text search in safari? I am curious why Apple would leave this feature out? I hear there is an app that does this, but I will not pay for an app that does what the iPad should do already. Information : Mac Mini, iBook G4, iPad Mac OS X (10.6.4) Mac Mini: 2.53GHz Late 2009.
Apple's iOS 4.2 page, in which the new OS is presented and briefly explained, includes the information, "Find text on web pages: In Safari, you can do a quick text search to find and highlight specific words and phrases on even the longest web pages."The iPad _iOS4_User_Guide.pdf, however, seems to make no mention of this feature, nor can I see any obvious way of searching a page in Safari itself. Is this something still to be incorporated in Safari, or am I missing something (very obvious, perhaps)?Information : iMac 27" Mac OS X (10.6.4) iPad WiFi 32GB.
I have an iPad that occasionally displays safari webpages in weird characters.I attached an image so you'll know what it looks like.I cleared all the browsing data and made sure the os is up to date. But on occasion and with no consistency get an page like the attached.
When I go to a site like CBS Marketwatch, the footer at the bottom of the page stays over the text and moves with the page when you scroll up or down. I can also get this to happen with bbhybrids.net. It happens on my iPod touch so I think it is a Safari problem.
When opening certain types of pdfs from a link from a private site for work, some of the text is overlapping in the document. Particularly when there are bullets and tables. These are instructional documents that were originally created in InDesign with lots of steps, tables, bullets, etc. I opened several other pdfs from various other sites, all of the pdf's seemed to work seamlessly. What could cause these types of pdfs to malfunction on the iPad and how do I fix it?
question to IPAD IOS4.2 in Safari, you can do a quick text search to find and highlight specific words and phrases on even the longest web pages. how could be used? "a quick text search", how to do? I only can speak a little English, please use easier words to answer me, and thank you very much!Information : iOS 4.
Often in blogs and chat boards, so-called "spoiler information" is written in the same color text as the background, to prevent the casual reader from stumbling acoss revelations they do not want to know. Hightlighting the text with the cursor will reveal the white text against a now blue-colored background (for instance). Selecting such text on the iPad simply produces a blue box. Is there something I'm missing here or is this yet another example of Safari on the iPad being vastly inferior to its desktop counterpart?
