Safari Image Is Larger Than Its Resolution

Apr 21, 2012

If I open an image in Safari that's larger than the iPad's native resolution, I have to scroll or zoom out to view the entire image. Typically, on a PC, the image will be re-sized to fit the browser window. Is there a setting I can change in Safari or a browser I can download that will do this automatically?

Screen Resolution Larger Than Display

Oct 16, 2010

I've rebooted several times already including holding the home and power buttons and sliding Off using my nose. Screen is almost correct but then zooms out so to speak. Everything on the periphery disappears into the border. "pinching" does nothing. Switching apps briefly brings it back to almost normal but then it zooms out again. Anyone have a solution that doesn't require a trip to the Apple store?

Lag In High Resolution Image Loading In The Photo App?

Mar 16, 2012

Anybody else noticing a lag in high resolution image loading in the Photo app? (Regular iPad photo app, not iPhoto). So far the new iPad is awesome, but this 2-3 second delay between loading the image in some kind of low-res state and going full-res is nagging me.

Save Full Resolution Image IPhoto?

Mar 19, 2012

I was editting a photo on my iPad3 in iPhoto, and when I save it to the camera roll, it is significantly compressed and the textures in the graphic I'm using get lost and blurry. is there a way to save a photo without it being compressed?

What I did was bring in a graphic I made, and editted it in iPhoto, saved it to the camera roll and when I compare the two images in iPhoto, the original is crisp and sharp but the other one that I saved has bad aliasing and has blurred out most of the texture in the graphic.

saving a photo to the camera roll saves it in full resolution. But why is it compressing it still?

Resolution - Creating Image For 1080p YouTube Video?

Aug 3, 2012

I downloaded sketchbook pro today and noticed the only canvas sizes were 1024x768 and 2048x1536. The second resolution is what I need to create backgrounds for the retina iPad but if I want to create an image for a 1080p YouTube video, what would I do? Would I just create it at 2048x1536?

Why Is Safari's Resolution Still 1024x768

Mar 16, 2012

I am a bit disappointed. Safari tells the web server still has a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels - so you have no chance to get wider web pages rendered correctly

Can Safari Handle High-resolution Images?

Jun 27, 2010

I'm from Mexico, no ipad yet but a friend of mine is flying back from Canada next weekend and I asked her to bring me one

Problem is... I'm a student of classics, and the site "Dictionnaire des antiquits grecques et romaines" is truly important to me. The question here is: the ipad can handle high res images? or does it downscale like the iphone. I can enter the site from my ipod touch, even can see the image (when you search for a word, the site presents you with an image of the scanned book) the only problem is that the ipod touch presents a downscaled version of that image, in my imac the jpg file is presented at 2024x2906 pixels, so I can read the text without issues, but in the ipod touch the resolution doesnt go beyond 1024x?? (I cant see the other number)

My question is: In the ipad will be the same? or does the safari app in the ipad can handle high-res images without issues? I wont be able to read smoothly the images from that website? does another browser like Atomic would help me with this issue?

Unable To Improve / The Image Quality In Safari

Aug 10, 2010

As a photographer one of the things I was most looking forward to doing on my iPad was browsing flickr and other photo sites.

Unfortunately safari seems to re-compress the images it displays (to save memory?) and the resulting JPEG artifacts are so distracting that it's not even worth looking at my contacts photos until I'm back on my laptop.

To reproduce this just go to flickr on your normal computer and on the iPad and compare some images - it's a pretty big difference.

I can't see any settings for image quality anywhere. Is there anything I can do.

iPhone OS 3.1.3

Safari - Single Website Image Lock?

Mar 31, 2011

On a particular web address, Safari is automatically adding extra letters after the address (these are /#!/cover). It has only recently started doing this (the website was fine before, and I can still access the website without problems on different computers - both IBM and Mac). I have tried re-typing the address after deleting the link, but it still addes the extra letters and then not working properly. This means that the screen becomes filled with a highly magnified part of one photo. A little icon on the right appears which says swipe me. When swiped, it goes to a page with a revolving busy bar across it which then becomes blocked. I have tried going to settings and deleting all cookies and all history etc, but nothing seems to make a difference. All other web pages continue to work fine.I have also tried soft reset.

Safari Doens't Show Background Image When Sliding Page Left

Sep 10, 2010

I display a web page with a large-width photo (say 2000 pixels jpg file) & a repeat small background image in mobile Safari & the right part of photo is beyond the screen.

I touch & slide the page left to see right part but found there's no background image below the right part but only white blank background.

Does anyone know how to make Safari display the background image below the right part?

Apps :: Missing (Image Carousel) In Google Images Section On Safari Tab On IPad Mini

Sep 27, 2013

It's complex to explain this but basically when on my iPad Mini, using Safari, searching for anything using a keyword in the omni navigation bar, Google returns its results, I tap on Images to display all the images relating to that search keyword.

Tapping on the first image result would increase the size of that image and allow an 'image carousel' to appear and swiping from right to left would move onto the next image. This does not happen any more for some reason. Recently, over the past few days, when I do a search and chose Images, then choose the first image to increase the size, the image carousel does not appear, only the singular image. I then have to click on the little X to close that image and tap on the second image to view that image.

Where the swiping 'image carousel' facility on Google Images has disappeared to?
