View 4 RepliesI have the First generation iPad. Lately, safari has been crashing constantly. Actually a lot of applications are also. I did a full restore and nothing changed. Anyone else has this issue?
View 11 RepliesIf it were any other app I'd delete it and reinstall but you can't really do that with safari.Sometimes it's fine, other times it will crash out several times, usually as I'm typing something like this. It usually waits until I've almost finished and then Pulls the plug, losing everything I've written in the process.
View 25 RepliesMy original iPad has been constantly crashing. I'm using iOS 5.0. I was at the Apple Store recently on another matter and the Genius there said I should re-install the OS from scratch but *not* do a restore. She said I should do everything manually, including re-installing all apps by hand. And only then should I restore data from the cloud.Just want to confirm that I understood her correctly. Is this the correct way to proceed? If so, what's the outline of steps to take?
View 8 RepliesHave had my iPad for a year and use it constantly. The last few days it has been crashing constantly. I closed all open apps, thinking maybe that was the problem but it wasn't. I have plenty gb left.
View 5 RepliesI think quickoffice is an awesome application for word, excel, ppt, etc however it constantly crashes. I am thinking it is because I email myself files and save them to the application's inbox as opposed to using something like dropbox or saving them into the program using a computer connection.
View 5 RepliesReceived a refurb iPad 2 from Apple yesterday. Set it up last night and can get only 3-5 minutes (sometimes less) of use before it crashes and reboots itself. The app doesn't seem to matter. Hooked up to my Macbook or not doesn't seem to matter. I just bought an app that gives a picture of the activity going on during use and most of the memory space is free. When doing a check with the multitasking bar (I think it's called) any app that I have used is still there even after I have quit it. One recommendation was to delete those apps showing in that task bar and then restart. Did that. Same result.
View 8 RepliesiPad constantly glitching/freezing/crashing/parts of screen unresponsive - time for a factory reset OR a trip to the Apple store???
My son has nothing but problems with his iPad Mini. It is less than a year old and it constantly freezes/crashes/glitches and parts of the screen are unresponsive. This happens while playing games, watching movies, surfing the net etc etc
The iPad has been in a heavy duty Survivor case from day 1 and has been very well taken care of - so I don't think it's a damage issue
I have tried numerous resets (just holding the 2 buttons) and have disabled every feature on the iPad that might be causing memory/RAM issues (?) all to no avail.
I haven't tried resetting to factory settings as I don't want to lose all the data on the iPad (mostly his game achievements and Minecraft maps that he has worked so hard on!!!)
1) Take it in to the Apple Store - I have never gone to Apple over an issue, is this possibly covered by warranty???
2) Factory Reset - If I do this can I save all his game achievements/data???
My iPad constantly drops out of safari and immediately reverts to my iPad homepage despite my wireless being strong and in sync?
Info:iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 5.0.1
I've tried clearing cookies/history and also turned off iCloud. My Safari has become almost unusable as 50% of websites make it crash.
View 21 RepliesSafari and many other apps crash constantly - the screen just goes black and then back to the home screen.
Info:iPad, iOS 5.1.1
When using my iPad air, why am I constantly kicked out of safari?
View 2 RepliesIPad 2, no issues for six months. Now safari is constantly freezing when searching in Google.
View 4 RepliesSometimes I use my bluetooth keyboard with my iPad. Is there any reason I shouldn't keep bluetooth constantly enabled or the keyboard constantly powered on?
View 3 RepliesProbably a dumb question but why do you need a special app to watch netflix movies? Why not just use your browser i.e. Safari?
View 2 RepliesI was browsing Netflix movies within Safari. You can do much more robust searches than within the Netflix app.
View 4 RepliesI'd like to be able to use my iPad to add DVD/Blueray movies to my Queue, but I just find it so incredibly broken on the iPad. At first it appears to work just fine. You just click Browse DVD's and then click the movie icon and it shows you the info, along with an option to see more details.
The problem doesn't appear till I click New Releases. For whatever reason it simply stops showing any info when I click the movie icon. In order to get the detail I have to hold my finger down, and wait for the "open in new tab" option. My other issue is that I can't view any info under watch instantly. The second I even touch a movie in there it opens the netflix app to play it. Why is this so bad? Is it just me? Is my ipad just possessed with some evil anti-netflix spirit?
I think it is a crash, it suddenly goes black and takes me to the desktop. This was occurring this morning as I was browsing Apple.com's HTML5 showcase page. I've done a restore without effect, and am doing another now. Also I seem to have to 'click' on links several times, before they are submitted.Mac Pros; MacBook Pros Powermacs and others (680x0->Intels))Mac OS X (10.6.3)Mac User since 1984; Iv never had to use Windows :-Q
View 1 RepliesI have been having crashing problems the last 2 weeks when I am on safari, I am having some sites crash and I end up at my home screen. I have been using other app's for some time without crashing, now like safari, a few of those are crashing also, always back to home screen.I have not backed up since April, but do update my app's, and I also have not upgraded the OS, and until about 2 weeks ago everything worked almost as well as it should have, except for the ongoing wifi problem that seems better now with some work arounds. Is this problem due to the app's, or more problems with the Ipad?
View 1 RepliesSince this morning, Safari on my iPad 1 (V. 4.3) will open for a second then close automatically. I have tried to open it many many times and the same happens every time.
All other Apps were originally ok, but now some others are doing the same too. (since restoring)
1) Deleted History & Cookies.
2) Powered off numerous times and left off for a while.
3) Restored the iPad and reinstalled a back up. (See note below)
4) Removed the Apps that I installed over the last few days
5) Soft Reset (Pressing Home & Power button at same time)
Unfortunately, I did a back up this morning so can only restore my iPad to the backup of this morning which seems to have have the same problems.
Has anyone else noticed Safari crashing on the IPad since the 4.2.1 update?
It does not seem to matter which website that I go to. Usually a newspaper or a weather site will make it crash. I can restart Safari and go right back to the site with no problem at all. It's the initial load of the site that will crash Safari.
