I have authorised my computer for use with the IPad and Itunes. When I synced the IPad all of my apps dissapeared from the IPad and have not shown up on the computer. It is as if the IPad had reset itself when it synced with the computer.
I just updated my iPad to 5.1.1 and iBooks to 2.1.1. After updating and synching to my iMac, I opened a book that I had purchased one month ago and had been reading. All the text had disappeared. I had nothing but blank pages except for the title page and the table of contents. I went to purchased to try to download it again but the "purchased" tab was grayed out. I couldn't find a way to activate it. I tried resetting by holding in the sleep and on/off buttons for 10 - 15 seconds but it didn't change anything. I tried re-synching with my iMac -- my books are backed up on it -- but that didn't restore the text either.

With an exception of two all of my books have disappeared from my ibooks book shelf! I can access my account and see those that I have purchased and would like to know if there an easy way to retrieve them?
Info: MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.4), Also have iPad with iOS 5.1.1
on my ipad, in the ibooks app, the categories icon disappeared next to the library icon in the top left hand corner, when i go the the top charts in the store..how do i get it back? iBooks: Viewing, syncing, saving, and printing PDFs on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch Info: iPad
Had to do a restore on my iPad2 and the books in my iBooks library disappeared. I figured no problem, just download them again. But when I try to dl from Smashwords I can't. They keep trying to open in my vault app.
I bought pages and downloaded the free iBooks apps. Used them yesterday, everything was fine. I hooked into my MacBook air, 10.6.3, opened iTunes and ipad sync then noticed back on the iPad the pages app that I paid for by the way, and the iBook apps are no longer on the iPad.
I find iBooks very useful for storing not only my books but also my PDF files containing recipes, knitting patterns, etc. Only problem is that when I have finished reading a page, the toolbar at the top has disappeared and, even if I tap that area, my Collections option does not always appear.
I finally got my iPad (insert clapping sound) and I have been converting my current ebook library over to epub and to iBooks, which I find very graphically pleasing. I guess this is one of the reasons I love Apple, their attention to detail, so I would like to use iBooks as much as possible, and I don't mind going through some trouble to be able to visually pick a book (or eventually my notes) from by iBooks Library.
Here's the deal: I bought some ebooks on iBooks and I did NOT backed up them in iCloud (at least not by myself). Yesterday I wiped out all data in my iPad mini, I reset and deleted all data.Â
Then I downloaded all my apps and music again, but when I tried to download my books... well, they're gone. FROM THE "PURCHASED" TAB. So I tried to search for the books, one by one, and download them that way. But they appear as NOT PURCHASED. They are asking me to purchase them AGAIN.Â
I tried to download them to 2 different PCs, but it's the same, they appear as not purchased. So I looked in the iTunes purchase history (in both PCs) and there is still the info of the day of the purchase of every book (and the sum I paid for every one of them, and the "order number").Â
This is only for the ebooks i bought on iBooks, my music and videos and apps are all there... but NOT my books. How can I solve this? Do I have to REPURCHASE AGAIN???Â
I downloaded my original copy of iBooks using an obsolete but still functional Apple ID by mistake. I now would like to delete this version of the app and upload another copy of iBooks using the correct Apple ID so I can ask Apple to delete the old Apple ID once and for all. Will the pdfs and other files I uploaded for viewing in iBooks be trashed if I delete the old app or will they be waiting and accessible to the new copy of the app?
I have an email account which is from my web server. In the previous OS the folders were fine; inbox, sent mail and trash. I was pleased with the expansion of the email system in the new 4.1 OS and hoped it would include the ability to create new folders for organisation purposes. What happened, however, was just the reverse; my sent mail folder disappeared. I checked settings, looked everywhere for a solution, but no luck. What a muck-up!
I just downloaded the latest version of itunes and the updated version of ipad. My book app. disappeared along with several books, all purchased from itunes. Cannot find it on the computer or the ipad. Am I just out of luck?
I don't know how or why but iTunes has disappeared from my iPad.There is no icon and when I do a search on my iPad for "iTunes" all that comes up is a link on Safari to "search web" and "search wikipedia".
Does anyone know how I can restore iTunes without resetting my iPad?
I have been travelling and bought an iPad whilst in Sydney as my iPhone was starting to play up. The 'expert' in the shop copied all my photos and music from my iPhone onto the iPad, and synced my calendars, contacts and email through mobile me. All great. I used the iPad without problem for the next week or so. Then I connected my iPhone again to transfer the new photos I had taken. Transferred without problem although it duplicated the photos that had been previously copied over. As I needed to make room on my iPhone, after checking they were all on the iPad I deleted the photos from my iPhone. All the photos were automatically organised within Events in separate dated folders and I was impressed to see that they were geo tagged as well...marvellous I thought! I then transferred some videos from my Flip Camera onto the iPad which filled the memory to capacity. So I set about deleting the duplicate photos on the iPad. No problem at first and then I noticed that some duplicate photos that I had deleted were still showing. I tried to delete them again and suddenly the iPad started a process showing 'Updating Library'. When it had finished 90% of my photos had disappeared! There was over a 1000 and now there is only 100 or so. Also the remaining folders now have numerical names rather than dates.
I sent a message through aol mail on my ipad. When I wanted to retrieve it to send to someone else, I clicked on "sent mail" and it disappeared. Where did it go? What did I do wrong? It's not on my computer or my ipad. How can I get it back?
I had downloaded about a dozen of books from the free iBooks catalog but today they are all gone. That includes the Winnie the Pooh and iPad user guide. Does anyone know why this happened. I hesitate to use iBooks now until I find out if they are going to disappear on a regular basis.
It's my own fault cause I put the beta on my only iPad, but yesterday as I was making an important phone call I opened up notes. I wrote down the information and hit the home button. In one minute, I opened up notes again, and guess what? The note was gone! I can not deal with bugs like that when I'm trying to use the machine as a production device.?
