View 5 RepliesI recently bought an ipad in the UK from ebay (seller said it was a uk version)and a 3g card from apple for three pay as you go. When installing the sim and connecting to itunes it says sim card not supported. Anyone else had the same problem. I get pup ups in itunes about unable to update carrier settings but not sure if its just because it doesnt recognise the sim card. I have tried a factory reset with no luck. I have concluded either the sim card is broken (I doubt it) or the ipad is a foreign version. Even if it is it should still work as I belive there are no carrier locked iphones apart from the CDMA versions
View 9 RepliesSo i tried to use it last night.First up was the SD card reading, put in a 4G SDHC Sandisk card. It is unreadable. Apparently it is not supported for some reason, may be because it is i just put in some jpeg into the card?
Not to much bother i thought as my 5Dii shoots CF anyway. I used the USB connector, plugged in my Sandisk USB reader into it, and it turns out it dares too much power????? What the hell, its not a big USB dock.
So i have the camera kit but until i can find a USB CF card reader that works with the iPad, i can't use it.
When i insert sim card in my iPad 2, it displays "Sim Card Failure" but the same sim card works fine with other mobiles so please help me to solve this issue. Is there any problem with my iPad?
View 5 RepliesSo I want to subscribe to a magazine (national geographic) or buy a one time issue. Do I get to pay with my iTunes gift card or I have to have a credit card to pay for the subscription?
View 3 RepliesLooking at the included picture, it seems one could carefully use an exacto knife to trim down their iPhone's sim card to the iPad's micro sim size. You would save the cut piece for joining the two again to put in the tray and back into the iPhone. The actual chip is in the correct place.Original sim cards were the size of credit cards. The one in an iPhone is a "mini sim". The one in the iPad is a "micro sim".
Of course this doesn't mean it will work - but it's worth a try by a brave soul. Apple may have written the software to prevent this and ATT may have a way for their network to reject it. But I fully expect the dev team to tackle that in the jailbreak version.
Imagine using your iPhone/iPad instead of a credit card the next time you go shopping, or out to dinner. That is what a patent filled by Apple is suggesting. You go into an app, and it communicates with the store/restaurant, you hit a few buttons and everything is done. Sound like it has potential, but it would take a long time to be wide spread.
View 2 RepliesI have an O2 3G iPad and to connect to BT openzone I need the number of the SIM card.Is there a way to get this from the iPad? I now realise I should have made a note of this from the packaging of the SIM card!
View 3 RepliesI've inserted SIM card in my iPad, but it was working for few minutes and than I got message: "No SIM card installed". Two days later I can't even start to use. System don't recognize SIM at all. SIM card is working normaly in my phone or PC.

So up until recently I've been able to buy an itunes card instead of credit card. My card was stolen years ago so I no longer add my card. What's the point of having itunes cards when you can't use it? How can I bypass adding a credit card?

The iPad is released tonight in Sweden all of the carriers have presented information about their 3G dataplans. The carrier "3" are offering a plan "with up to 16 mbit/sec" but does the iPad support this? Apple only states "up to 7,2 mbit/sec" in the tech specs.

View 8 RepliesI have never been able to put .m4v files on my iPhone, as the res was too high, the size was 500mb per half an hour.
I am keen to get one, however this will be a huge let down, if i have to re-size all my movies and tv shows especially for the iPad.
Does this issue occour with the iPad, anyone who owns the iPad that can answer this question would be great?

View 12 RepliesGiven the amount of memory problems I'm having with 4.3.3 on my iPad 1, I wonder if it will even run 5.0 with only 256MB of RAM.
