I just got my iPad after already having an iPod Touch. I have a bunch of audiobooks I keep on th iPod. When I synced the iPad they all went on the iPad and now I can't get thm off. Is there someway to delete them off the iPad? The swipe delete that I do for Podcast episodes doesn't work and I tried unchecking them in iTunes and resyncing, but none of that is working.
How to buy audiobook. My position is in Czech republic and some books are not possible to download in Cz.

View 2 RepliesI have a suggestion. I love to read, but sometimes I just don't want to put my book down. I enjoy listening to audio books while I do housework and drive, but I can't really do both. My suggestion is this - an e-book / audio book format that can be switched between one and the other. For example:You are sitting and reading on your iPad your favorite book, but you need to go fold laundry. This is impossible to do while reading your e-book. So you tap Read-to-me, and the e-book switches to audio book mode where it plays the audiobook from the beginning of the page you were just reading. This is not Text to speech, but a real audiobook. - You could also sync this with your iPod so it could read the audiobook to you as well.

Every time I stop reading it & turn off the iPad when I go back to read the book starts over at the beginning! Very frustrating because it takes me ages to find where I left off. Is there a setting in the iPod app that could prevent this?

I have converted my audiobooks into .m4b files with chapters listed within each file. Ex. I have chapters 1-30 under Eye of the World 1 and chapters 31-60 under Eye of the World 2. The ipod on my iPhone is able to to understand there are two seperate .m4b files (The Eye of the World 1 &2) and play them accordingly. Apple's OS does number them on its own though so under Eye of the World 1 I have chapters 1-30 and since its there are 30 marks it names them accordingly 1-30. The problem comes in on subsiquent file like Eye of the World 2 where there is chapter 31-60. Since this is a new file it numbers Chapter 31 under 1, chapter 32 under 2, so on and so forth. I apologize for the long explanation especially for those of you that will help me but I wanted to explain my though process and that I have an ok understanding of this. I don't know if the iPhone does it better or if iOS 3.2 for the iPad is doing something else and mixing them up due to this. Please help this is driving me insane. That you in advance for your time!

I am trying to listen to an audiobook I purchased from iTunes using the Music App. I am using an iPad 1 and the latest operating system.
The first audiobook I bought just worked and always started where I left off. This is the second one and it keeps restarting from the beginning, which is a bit annoying because I don't always finish at a chapter break.
The App remembers for a while but if I have listened to a podcast or anything in between it forgets.
Is there a specific way I should exit the audiobook to cause it to remember where I left off?
My daughter accidentally erased my audiobook, fifty shades of grey and I need to know if there's any way to get it back

I bought a book on my iPad3 which I want to transfer to my iPod Nano. I read where you can only have it on one device, which is fine, I want it on my Nano. I ended up deleting it from my iPod thinking it would be available in iTunes for download to my Nano and now it doesn't show up anywhere and it doesn't show up in my purchases on my iPad even. The audiobook listing looks like it wants me to buy it again? What gives. Doesn't the iPad purchases talk to iTunes? Is there any way to get this book back? Can I then move it to my Nano?

The concept of the Cloud is baffling me. I just can't "get" it. Most recently, I downloaded an audiobook from the iTunes store on to my iPad. I cAn figure out how to "see" it on my iPhone.

I have purchased some Audio-books from the web in m4b format and placed them on my laptops hard drive, I then started iTunes and used Add to lib to add the files, I then synced my iPad and the files were shown to be transferring. The new files are shown in iTunes lib as a sub directory of iBooks but are not shown anywhere on my iPad and definitely not in iBooks.
View 1 RepliesThe "new" Music.app on iOS 5 on iPad does not support viewing of Audiobook (.m4b / .aa) chapters and their titles. Nor does it provide for direct selection of chapters. This is a loss of functionality compared with the iPod.app on iOD 4.3 on iPad. The prior app provided a means of viewing the chapters and their titles and the direct selection of a desired chapter.
The current Music.app does provide for the user to tap the fast forward / backward buttons to skip to chapter marks but there is no display of the chapter title for a selection so there;s no useful way to know where one is in the Audiobook. Further, Audiobooks frequently contain 10s of chapters in a segment (usually limited to around 100 MB / segment (track if you prefer) by Audible).
The iPhone (and I presume iPod Touch) version of the Music.app retains the chapter viewing and selection functionality from previous iOS 4.3. Only the iPad version of the app has lost the functionality. Without viewing of chapters and their titles and direct selection of chapters, Audiobooks in the Music.app are basically unusable.

Option at learnoutloud site was to dwnld either mp3 or mp4 (m4b). Mp3 would not work with safari, so selected mp4 option. My belief was m4b was native to iPod/iPad. How can I access already paid for m4b file and play audiobook?

My wife has bought a MacBook Pro and I have put Outlook 2011 on it. Can I sync my iPad's contacts and calendar without syncing with iCal and Address Book as these will have my wife's contacts and calendar which we don't want to mix. iTunes only allows syncing with Address Book and iCal.

So my question(s) is/are--
My iPad 2 should be coming in a few weeks. When I hook it up to my iTunes, will it allow me to just sync all the same apps that I have on my phone? Will it let me pick and choose which ones I pull over? If there is an iPad specific version of an app I have on iTunes, will it notify me first?
How to handle it when you have multiple iDevices syncing to the same iTunes? Just trying to do a little planning ahead.
I have the new ipad, and upon syncing, the ipad screen will turn off after a few minutes but the iTunes can't recognizes the iPad anymore. It says "Waiting" but then when I switch the screen back on, the syncing stops.
