I recently purchased a Lightning to VGA Cable to watch movies from my iPad on my HDMI TV. Everything is going fine but the only volume coming from the devices is the iPad. The TV isn't projecting any volume making the movie very hard to here.

iPad, iOS 7.0.4, iPad mini
I everyone! Whenever I put my iPad down to get up, my vision gets blurry, my Legs get weak, and I have to hang on to something in order to avoid falling down.
View 4 RepliesWhen I'm sitting out on my deck at night reading an iBook or browsing with Safari, I would really like a "Night Vision" mode. In the app Star Walk you can enter a night vision mode which turns all whites to red. It would really help keep away bugs and be easier on my eyes if the iPad had this ability everywhere. Barring that, at least in iBooks so I can read outside at night. Information :iPhone 3GS, iPad 16, MacBookPro iPhone OS 3.1.3.
View 3 RepliesI'm configuring an iPad for my low vision[1], wheelchair bound, 80yo mother (family Birthday present). We tested one out at an app store and she did pretty well with the book reader alternating between 3 finger tap to magnify and VoiceOver on demand (3 click the home button).
One curiosity -- in some ways she is better off with iPhone apps than with native iPad apps. The simpler UI, doubled to fill the larger screen, is just about right. I hope we'll be able to continue to use iPhone apps on the iPad, and that developers who bundle both in one package provide a configuration option to run in iPhone mode on the iPad (Apple could add that option to the system level).
I'll be posting on this on my personal hobby (no ads) tech blog. I'll add links to future posts to this initial post: http://tech.kateva.org/2010/06/ipad-for-low-vision-elderly.html
Does anyone have any experiences or tips to share? Any good resources to visit?
[1] Macular degeneration. Different causes of low vision need somewhat different UI approaches and configuration. If she lives long enough she'll probably be entirely blind, but it's possible that, if she becomes familiar with VoiceOver now, that she'll be able to transition to full VO UI.

My daughter was playing the game of "Life" on my Ipad and now it is set to what I call a night vision setting. All the colors are messed up.

Hoping someone there will be able to help. My 90 year old mother in law has developed macular degeneration which affects the central vision of the eye. I am aware of the accessibility capabilities like Zoom and reverse type. She needs magnification to help her fill out a check, write out envelopes for her bills and make handwritten entries into her check register. I have found a camera on a stand, but it has USB input. Is there any way to get this video input into the iPad?
View 1 RepliesAnybody else having problems with no sound and/or inability to turn the volume up or down with the physical volume button within any apps or games? My iPad 2 had been working fine in this respect and now it is just totally unresponsive. I am running iOS 4.3.3.
View 2 RepliesCan you please tell me if there is any option in iPad3 which will allow the volume buttons to change the alerts volume? Please help me on this.
View 3 RepliesMy media volume is not working on my Ipad 2. It is 6 months old and the volume disappeared a week ago. I have tried a soft reset, checked that the volume is not muted in settings. When pressed the volume button does not even bring anything up on the screen. I have also checked the mulit-tasking bar and the volume control bar option does not show up.

Everything worked fine after my last update wit Ios5.1 3months ago, until yesterday, without any recent updates or any tweaking/ software modifications,
my ipad 2 automatically changes its volume by volume up, and the volume message box remains there as if the hardware button is being pressed, i can only remove the volume message box by pushing the volume down button, following that the volume up button is non functioning, i have tried software reset all settings , hardware reset and even restore ios5, but the problem persisted...
Only at times after reset either by hard/soft way...the volume buttons became functioning for about less than 5mins and then the same old problem recurs...

When we play games the volume is fine, but when we watch movies or tv shows, we can't hear very well on the highest volume level.
View 5 RepliesThe volume rocker on my iPad doesn't work when increasing volume only when decreasing it. I'm going to have them ship me a replacement and I'll ship this one bace. It's a real bummer, I'll probably get a refurb. Anyway has anybody else had to have their iPad replaced and was it new or refurb?
View 11 RepliesApparently not. Try using the cable that actually came with the iPad. There is apparently something different about it. Now, backup and sync on my iPad fly
View 11 RepliesI want to build my own cable with the ipad jack on one end and a guitar cable input jack on the other. I have an old ipod cable (USB on the other end). The connection points on my ipad cable are different from the ipod cable - but would the cable work on the ipod?
View 1 RepliesSo the the Apple store employee told me that the USB cable that came with my iPad was different than the ones I already own. It can carries higher watts or soemthing...?
Anyways, the iPad will charge faster with it's own cable than with my iPhone cable I was told. Will it sync faster too? Can I even use the the normal USB that came with my iPhone to sync?
I ask because I'm about to put a movie on the iPad and the cord was upstairs. I had my other USB cables from my iPhones etc, but went up to the ONE cable for the iPad.
I just got an IPad and would like to use it in the classroom. I have tried to connect it to the projectors at the university. The classrooms I teach in have projectors in the ceiling that are controlled at a panel and connections on the podium. So, there is a place on the podium to hook the VGA cable into. I have used it with my laptop several times. However, I have tried to use it with my IPad and nothing shows up on the screen at all. (I know that it does not mirror, but there is nothing showing up.) I have powered the IPad down completely before trying to hook it up. What am I doing wrong? Is there something in the Settings I need to change?

For what they are, I have a fairly decent set of inner ear ear-buds that I use when flying. They work great on my iPhone but when I tried them on my iPad, even at full volume, I can't get enough volume to watch a movie with them when on the plane. What's the deal? Is it my iPad or just something that is sad but typical with them. Again, they work great and are VERY loud on my 3Gs.

View 2 RepliesIs there any kind of adapter that will let me power the iPad while using the VGA cable? Thought he battery is pretty decent in the iPad, my memory is not and I have on a few occasions walked into a presentation without it charged and could either use the VGA adapter to the projector and hoe the battery lasted or have everyone try to see the iPad screen.
