Has anyone else had this? After watching video in the videos app, the lock/unlock click sound is super loud. Even with the sound turned all the way down. The only way I can get it back to normal is to play some music or something from Youtube.
What I realized is that the sound of the lock/unlock click matches the volume level of the videos app. However, even after quitting the videos app, the sound doesn't go back to match the general volume level unless I use the speaker for something else.

Just installed skype app on Ipad. Everything works except can't hear the voice from the other end. Yes, he's got his mike on, I can hear it from Skype on another computer. What do I have to set up to get this to work? the IPad does play sounds, there is no "mute" switch on that I can see.

IPad 2 :: No Sound While Watching Videos On FaceTime
Aug 27, 2014
I Have no sound on my ipad when I'm watching videos on FaceTime. My mute button on the side is not on. I have also made sure that when I scroll up on my home screen that my mute button is not pushed. The sound will come and go. I'm wondering if it might be a software problem?
I'm really getting annoyed with this "feature." I always access my podcasts from the iPod app as that is how everything is on the iPhone. The annoying part is, if I watch a video podcast, after I'm done, I'm in the video app! This is annoying, AND inconsistent!
What's with the inconsistency Apple? On the iPhone, there's no "Video" app. Everything is in the iPod app, the way it supposed to be. On the iPod Touch, there's a Music and Video apps, but I can still access video podcasts from the music app, and after I'm done, it stays on the music app. Why have an "iPod" app and a "Video" app on the iPad? And what's with the switcharoo when watching video podcasts? Why not just put everything in the iPod app like the iPhone, or at least stay in the iPod app after the video podcast is finished?
Is anyone having an issue with their iPad locking up while watching video? I tried watching a show on the ABC app and I had to restart the iPad 5 times because it kept locking up. This also happend in YouTube and while watching a Netflix movie.
This happened twice yesterday. A hard reset, which deleted all of my apps when it re-synced to itunes, was the only way to get it to unfreeze. I deleted the ABC app but in the process of reloading my apps I missed the latest episode of Lost. Tried again tonight to watch Lost after downloading ABC app and less than 2 minutes in - frozen.
People please stop and think before you allow another post like "I would rather view a video on a XX" screen than an iPad."(Do you even have an iPad?)PERSPECTIVE Most view a 32" screen from about eight feet to ten feet away. You can view a 3.5" iPhone screen held a few inches from your face while lying down and it will appear in your vision to the the same size video as the 32" across the room. Have you noticed that? The determining factor in your experience is the distance to any particular size screen. Now take that iPad (which has 8X more surface area than an iPhone screen) and hold it at a comfortable distance from your face and tell me how it compares to a larger screen much further away. Can you now grasp why video on an iPad is such a good experience when compared to normal large screen TV if you normally are sitting far enough away from the TV?
When watching videos that stream firm CNET TV I get about 30 seconds in and then it locks up my iPad and I have to hold down the power button and home button to reboot. This also happens when viewing video from the yahoo entertainment app. Is anyone experiencing this too?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I don't have an Ipad yet, and I would like to know if this is possible. I've seen pictures of watching youtube video's while staying in portrait mode, and I'd like to know if this is possible too for the normal video's that are on the ipad, the ones you load through Itunes, such as music video's, tv-shows etc. Are you able to watch them in portrait mode too and if so, what exactly does it look like? What is the rest of the screen filled with and how big is the film screen.
I am logging into a site with my ipad 2 using safari, and watching some instructional videos and I am given 2 options. one column is labled "streaming" with a "watch now" button when I click this nothing happens. I assume this is a flash player issue. But the other column is labled "download now". the size of the file is noted in the far right size (I assume its the size... 87m, 94m 112m, etc) when I click the "download now" button the video loads automatically and plays. (much to my surprise...!) here is the weird thing... if the size listed is more than 100m I get the "safari cannot download this file" message... is there a setting somewhere in safari that I can change to make this work? I tried a couple other browers (chorme, and atomic web) and that didn't work either...
I searched all over the internet, and I am afraid I am the only person who has encountered this problem.I was watching a movie through air video, and the video freezes. When I hit the home button, 1/3 of the screen is still showing the frozen frame of the movie. that section of the screen continues to show the frozen frame.I turn the iPad off then back on, that section now is completely black. The iPad works fine except for that section showing nothing.I have gone into general settings and reset, and I have held home and the lock button to reset as well. Nothing has worked. Did the application fry the video connection or the display?
