I've got problem - no sound from the speaker and headphones. The "headphones" message appears every time I'm trying to adjust the sound volume. I've checked all sound-oriented switches - no sound still. Any ideas? Is it hardware or software problem?
After I had finished upgrading 4.2.1 firmware for my iPad, the speaker's sound has gone.I can hear the sound from my iPad only when I connected to any headphones or bluetooth devices.I tried many methods to get the sound back, starting from:1. trying to plug in and out my headphone - nothing changed2. switch on and off from the mute button (former is lock button) but it only showed "Headphones" or "Mute" sign.3. shut down and turn on my iPad - nothing changed4. Hard Reset my iPad and Restore - Still no sound, but I had to re-install everything again5. Ask everyone and search every "no sound from iPad" topics but found none like mine.
I have successfully transferred all my music to my iPad and they play well wih the speaker. But when I plug in the headphone - standard jack that I use on my computer - the speaker continues but no sound from the headphones. Is there a special jack required? Or have I failed to do something simple?
The iPad works great with bluetooth headphones but when you are finished and want to go back to the built in speaker it doesn't enable it. I disconnected the headphones in settings and even turned bluetooth off - still no speaker. The built in speaker only comes back if I reboot the iPad.
My headphone Jack does not seem do go all the way in the headphone Jack on my ipad and I get no sound in the headphones. I have 2 different sizes of jacks, one is too small and the other does not go in far enough. This headphone plugs into my iPod and works there.
I have new iPad and it works well. The speakers sound nice. Only, when I plug in any type of headphones, they sound distorted. It does not make any difference if it's a song or a movie. Anyone has any idea why this might be happening and what should I do about it?
IV restarted all 3 ways. IV restarted all settings. IV done everything you can do but it won't fix itself. I know it's not a hardware problem because with headphones in it works fine and there's no dust in any of the ports and it's not a mute problem because even YouTube and music app don't work sound doesn't work period.
The sound of my ipad is not working. When I press the trigger to higher or lower the volume the I pad states headphones however my headphones are not connected. No sound is coming out unless I connect my headphones. I have tried resetting it and switching it of. The silent switch Is switched upwards( the way it should be).
My new iPad can play sound by speaker in safari and YouTube. However, it cannot play sound by speaker in some apps but it can by headphone. Is it the problem of the apps (more than one app) or the iPad itself?
Although I have been into settings/sound & all the appropriate sliders seem to be turned on (& checking a calendar / reminder alert etc does produce the appropriate sound from the speaker & the volume slider is at maximum), when I use a program that should produce sound, e.g. iTunes, or a video, I am not getting any sound from my iPads speaker, not even keyboard clicks - unless I connect headphones.
I have had a search but can find nothing similar to the problem I am having with my ipad. Has anyone else experienced this ?I have encoded videos to my ipad and they play ok. When playing through the internal speaker there is no issue but when I play through headphones the sound becomes intermittently choppy. It is fine for a few second then makes a blip noise or chops slightly, it is very annoying. This only seems to occur on videos, music is fine on headphones as is youtube, etc. I am baffled, I have even tried different headphones just in case but the problem persists.
This week I had an issue with my iPad Mini; the sound would only work through headphones; the volume pop up would either read "Headphones" or "Sound effects" and no sound would come out of the speaker. I tried all the tricks, like a hard reset, blowing compressed air into the open ports, sucking out any debris from the headphone port, plugging in and removing headphones several times, and changing settings suggested by other users, but nothing worked. I finally had to swap it out with a new one from the Apple store.
Today it started doing the same thing once again! This time I figured that it may just be an issue with one of the newer installed apps conflicting with the iOS firmware, so I picked the most recent app that I installed which happened to be a kids game (for my twin boys) called Jukebox. I clicked on it and saw that the volume rocker that is built into the game was set to the lowest setting; I raised the volume and hit play and the sound returned! I still want to check all of my most recently installed apps just to make sure they are not conflicting as well. My point is, if you happen to run into this same issue with the sound on your iDevice working only if headphones are plugged in, it just may be a app issue.
I have a pair of nioce canceling headphones and a pair of regular earbuds. Neither are apple brand and when I try to put them in the iPad they fit loosely and the sound still comes out of the external speaker. Do I need to buy a special adapter or special headphones. If so, do you have any suggestions for affordable ones. I saw some 2$ adapters online that say for 3.5mm to iPad. Would this be the correct one?
My ipad is producing a hissing/static noise when the speaker is activated, it can be heard if I put my ear up close, as far as 15 cm away. The hiss stops after a while, can be anytime upto 30 seconds before the hissing stops. I heard a pop whilst watching a youtube video and think it started then.
Eversince I updated to ios6, lost the speaker sound.. The only sound that has been working is the headphone... I thought that upgrading to ios7 will resolve this issue but no change... How to restore the speaker on ipad4
I have had one problem after another since I installed iOS8. I'm now at iOS 8.1.2 and a new problem has occurred.Â
The speakers are intermittent. When moving the volume bar in setting>sounds, I get a change in volume and can hear this through the speaker. With the "Change with Buttons" turned on, the volume buttons work intermittently. Sometimes the will change the volume other times they will only change the volume once I use my finger to move the slider bar. I get the volume change through the speaker, but when I play music, no sound. In fact, when trying to change the volume with the buttons it doesn't show the indicator for volume. If I press the volume button to minimum (mute) it will say muted. Sliding up the control panel does not show a volume slider.Â
I reboot. It comes back and the buttons work and there is a slider bar for volume and the speaker works. The slider switch is set for screen rotation lock not mute. This is driving me a little crazy as it is an intermittent problem. When it occurs, I have to hard reboot the iPad and hope things start working again.Â
With wired headphones plugged in, everything works. Even when the speaker volume does not work or no sound through speakers, I can plug in my headphones and everything works.Â
Using Bluetooth headphones don't work when the speaker volume stops working. But, after a reboot, they will work provided the speakers were working prior to turning on the headphones and connecting via Bluetooth.Â
This and other problems did not start appearing until I "upgraded" to iOS8 and subsequent revisions. Maybe iOS 8.1.3 or whatever can fix this issue.
