How do you get netflix to stream from the Ipad (wi-fi) to the TV?? I bought a apple-VGA converter and tried to hook it up to my TV that way but its not playing at all. I can only seem to play things that are in the "video" application...any help would be appriciated. Ipad is also jailbroke using spirit.
What do you folks think about getting Netflix and Instant Streaming on this thing? Do you think it'll be browser based or a separate app? I haven't heard much talk about it yet, I'd like to hear your thoughts.
If anyone else is no longer able to "watch instantly" on netflix, please tell me . At first last week in fact, the streaming from netflix was fine. Now I get an error code "cannot register"
There are probably several threads about this topic, but now that both NetFlix and Hulu Plus have released new versions of their iPad apps, and also have matched pricing for their streaming service, I thought it would be time to ask once again what would be the better choice for an iPad user.
When placing your comments please these keep pointers in mind :
- Movie availability
- TV Shows and Series Availability and Selection
- Stream Quality and Performance
- TV-Out Capability (Component and/or VGA)
- Availability of HD content
- WiFi and 3G access
- Playback on iPad and other devices (Wii, XBox, PS3, etc).
Please exclude personal streaming Apps (such as Air Video, etc.) from the Poll.
I fell in love with the iPad... I purchased one at Best Buy not more than a week ago and have a load of games and apps. I simply can't leave home without it. However, with ATT's data plans I am limited to 2GB which blows.I can stream Netflix though, with only a 30 seconds buffer prior to starting.I tried tethering my iPad to my HTC Evo over 3G (through wifi ofcourse) and the quality of Netflix is aweful. My question is, does anyone have the Verizon Mifi? How are the speeds in most areas? Does Netflix streaming work fairly well? I've read quite a few reviews where streaming video is buggy because the Mifi randomly disconnects & reconnects? I'm considering returning my iPad to Best Buy and taking advantage of Verizon's deal.
General :: Netflix - No HD Streaming On IPad Air (Only SD)
Nov 19, 2013
Can't figure this one thing out on the iPad Air. I've been doing a bit of research and seems like other people have the issue so it's not just me. I can't get Netflix to stream HD quality on my iPad Air.
Wifi speed is great - I have a 100mbit line, and speedtest on the iPad Air is 60mbps.
I also have a nexus 7, note 2, ipad 3, macbook pro, and iMac - all stream HD just fine.
I've tried resetting the iPad Air, reinstalling netflix SEVERAL times, resetting the network setting on the iPad Air
Does The TV Streaming App E.g. ABC & Netflix Is Restricted To Wifi Only Or Its Open For All?
Apr 25, 2010
I'm planning on purchasing the 3G version of the iPad when it comes out on the 30th. But, I was wondering of anyone knew if movie and tv show streaming apps like ABC and Netflix will be wifi only or not. The ABC app description says that a wifi connection is required but this description was written before the release of the 3G version. Also, the Netflix app doesn't mention wifi at all. It will be a huge downer if apps such as these end up being restricted to wifi.
I can't get my TV to play streaming Netflix movies from my iPad - the TV recocgnizes the iPad is attatched via an HDMI port but does not recognize any of the content (music, pictures, movies, etc.). I am currently attaching via the iPad/iPod cable directly into th HDMI port and use the TV input button to identify the port.
Ipad2 And Netflix - Select A Movie Off Netflix And Plug Into Tv?
Dec 11, 2011
I just purchased an ipad2, really a learning experience! I have the Netflix app on my iPad, is there something on the market to select a movie off Netflix and plug into my tv so everyone can watch the movie? When I select a movie from Netflix, does it download (save) to my iPad and take up space?
I have a two Wifi only Ipads, 16GB. I have successfully watched several Movies and TV shows on the Netflix app. But sometime in the last few weeks the Netflix App has all but become useless. I am able to launch the app and browse, edit and add things to my queue. But when I click on the Play button it takes me to the "You're almost ready to watch" screen and tries to load the movie for a few seconds and then I get an alert: "Unable to reach netflix.com" and stops there. The movie never starts. I know that the app itself has been updated but I am 90% sure that I was able to watch things after the latest update. I have deleted and reinstalled the app, restored my Ipad back to defaults, tried on at least three different ISP's and have tried the same Netflix account on my second Wfi Ipad, and have tried my parents account on either Ipad with it never working
Why doesn't the iPod app "see" your iTunes library on your main computer to stream music to your iPad so you don't have to load up ALL of your music. Yes I have some music on my iPad but I am not going to LOAD it up with all of my music. My other computers can see each others libraries. Also, why doesn't the Photos app display your iPhoto library so I can view, post or do whatever to photos that are not on my iPad and as before my other computers see my iPhoto libraries..****, even my wife's PC sees my iTunes library..Just wondering if this will ever be possible
I wasn't a fan when it was announced but as time went on I kept looking at it and by the time it was released I knew I wanted one. I just brought my 64gb iPad home. This thing is great. The first app I downloaded was netflix and it runs great. Now I have my netflix instant queue at my disposal anytime. Ok now I'm off to go play with my new toy and find some great books to read.
has anyone noticed on some of the older Netflix movies the audio is really low. I tried a few of the older movies and had the volume on maximum and still could hardly hear anything. I tried it with some of the newer movies and the audio was better. Now if I compare it to the ABC app the audio is perfect. My guess is its the Netflix app that needs an update or is there something wrong with my volume?
I see that netflix came out today with a update today which enables the use of vga connector. If this is true then it seems a great way to download movies & watch on tv.
