I don't understand the entire concept of the tray. I've confirmed that the apps that appear there are not necessarily working in the background. They are recently used apps but "recent" appears to be from the beginning of time. Any time that I use an app a duplicate icon appears there. They never go away unless I manually delete each one individually. I wasn't surprised that they stayed there after a sleep but they stay even after a power off/on.How do they benefit me as a user?By the way, I am comfortable with the sound icon that appears in the controls area and that's particularly valuable.
The iPad tagline on the homepage and in the marketing appears to have changed from:"Our most advanced technology in a magical and revolutionary device at an unbelievable price.to:"A magical and revolutionary product at an unbelievable price."Much improved over the previous mouthful.
But I just recently upgraded from a 32gb to a 64gb iPad. I'm finding the wifi signal on the top left go up and down, i don't know if that is because it's raining outside or it's my actual iPad! I'd like to know if ne of you guys share the same issues with me, and what did you do to fix it? I'm nervous and i don't want to go to the store again
Is there I can use an application like Apple Remote to use my iPad to control my iPod in the same manner that one would use it to control either your computer's iTunes or and AppleTV?I would love to connect my old iPod to my stereo and use my iPad to control it wirelessly.
I just gave my mom an iPad for mothers day and after hours trying we cannot sync the apps from itunes to the ipad. I keep getting the message that the computer needs to be authozied. Keep in mind she has a PC running windows Vista and itunes is updated. I tried literaly everything I thought of:1- deauthorized and authorized my computer2 - restored and updated the ipad3 - restarted the computer after deauthorizing and then autorizedShe does not have an iphone and this is the first time she downloads apps to sync it. Everything is syncing fine but everytime we get to the apps the authorization message appears. We can download apps fine directly into the ipad using wi-fi with the same account we are trying in the computer. For those that use PC I thought it could be something related to running the program as administrator but when I got to try to do it in the itunes I don't get the option what might means that I'm already running as administrator.
I created a group on my iMac. I synced with my iPad and the group appears in my address book. But when i try to address mail to the group, it doesn't recognize the name. What am I doing wrong? Information:iMac intel core duo, MacBook Pro 2Ghz Intel core duo, iPhone 4Mac OS X (10.4.10)
I downloaded the Movie Rental 'Robin Hood' in iTunes10 and then played it on an Apple TV2 connected to a Sony HDD LCD TV by selecting it from the Shared iTunes Library. After the viewing I transferred the Rental to an iPad 4.2.1 and it played on the iPad using the 'Videos' application without any issues. When I tried to stream it from the iPad to the AppleTV using Airplay the iPad hung with a blank screen and nothing played on the TV. When switching off the Apple TV I was able to regain control of the iPad but it would not play the movie locally. The ability to play the movie on the iPad was resolved by performing a combined Off+Menu process. After proving that it would then play on the iPad I then transferred the rental back to the iTunes library and proved that it would play in Safari. The issue appears to be with Airplay.
I want to advise Apple that the idea of iPad as a plugin controller surface for Logic Pro and it's other pro applications is unbelievable! EXS24, Sculpture, ES2, EVB33, and channel EQ, delay designer, Pedalboard, Amp Designer, etc. with the original GUI on the iPad. EVERY logic user would automatically buy an iPad!
Can anyone help me out, can you take your iPad, get it out of it's case, so you can hear it better, and lift it up, with the sim slot on the top and giggle the iPad to and from you, can you hear anything loose in the sim card tray because I can hear some sort of rattle from in there...
By the way this is a rattle sound with and without the sim card in, and with and without the sim holder
Information: iMac 20" Intel Mac OS X (10.6.3) MAcbook Pro 13" (2009), iPod Touch 8Gb 2G, iPad 64Gb WiFi + 3G
I got my iPad when it launched here in Mexico (on the 23 of july) but my sim tray was kind of defective because it was a little bit bent making it extremely hard to remove from the iPad. I thought it wasn't a problem until I asked how to configure my 3G on my iPad with my service provider, they told me and when I told them what my signal said they asked me to call Apple Care to resolve the issue. I did and they made me restore my iPad, I got a message saying "Waiting for Activation, This May Take Some Time", I never got the message saying it was activated so Apple Care asked me to go to an authorized service provider (no Apple Store here ), I did and they took my sim tray, they now tell me that it will take 8-10 business days to get the part and that they have to keep the sim tray so the process can start, I don't have that amount of time because I want to travel with my iPad and use 3G, my question is, would an apple store in the USA replace my sim tray for free?
Does anyone know how to use the tray to advantage? "Recent" seems to be EVERY app that I've ever opened. They never go away themselves. As of right now, EVERY app that I have on my iPad is in the "Recents" tray.
As near as I can determine, the only way to delete apps is to manually delete them one-by-one by first holding one until it wiggles and then tapping each "minus" sign.
I put the iPad to sleep and woke it up. Apps still in the tray.
I shut down the iPad and powered it up again. Apps still in the tray.
I reset the iPad and allowed it to power up again. Apps still in the tray.
My conclusion is that the best thing that I can do is to ignore the "Recents" tray but that just doesn't seem correct. There has got to be some advantage to using it.
When we print from the imac, it goes straight to the 8x11 tray and prints on normal sized paper. When we print from the ipad it goes straight to the 5x7 photo tray and prints on photo paper. I know that for iOS, air-print doesn't support tray selection and just prints to whatever tray 1 is. Is there a way to change it on the printer so that we can print from the iPad to the regular printer paper?
Can anyone explain the difference to all these terms and how they pertain to the iPad's user interface? Whad do we call each screen for example is it a tray or a home screen or a dashboard? Like if you wanted to say "I clicked on the tray icon on the seventh screen of the iPad's dashboard" would that sound right?
I recently bought a second hand iPad 2. It's the 3G version, however the sim tray is well stuck in the iPad, the guy I bought it off said that there is a sim card jammed in it which is stopping the tray releasing. Is there a way to get this out? I read somewhere about drilling a small hole in the tray but couldn't find any more details about this. Is removing the screen an option?
In the built-in Photos App, i'd like to show my photos in a particular sequence, in other words, i'd like to control the order of photos in any folder....... i can't seem to sort them, not in the ipad, nor in itunes on my home mac. i have tried numbering them, i can't seem to get any kind of control.
My tray thing at the bottom of my home screen has disappeared, I have no idea why, Ive not changed any settings at all. Ive done a hard reset and no change, I am unable to back up my iPad and connect as my laptop is battered. I downloaded Chrome app the other day cos Safari is in my tray and wouldn't have been able to get on here.
