First; is there any source for rental movies usable on an airplane (non streaming obviously)other than iTunes?Second; why don't iTunes rentals work consistently? Also why do they download, than expire but don't leave the IPAD? I have 10 GB of movies on the IPAD. All are rentals, all have been watched and have expired but are still eating up space.

Can I view movie rentals in iTunes through bought PC and iPad2? Currently have rented a movie on PC thinking I would be able to pull it up on the iPad but I don't see it in iTunes.

View 7 RepliesBought my very first Apple product...(IPad 64G WiFi only) last week.I intended to use it just to keep me busy reading, watching movies, playing games, on all the long flights to Europe and Asia that I take.So yesterday I excitedly set up an ITunes account, and downloaded 4 movie rentals, and purchased one other movie (Angels and Demons). All HD. I just figure I'd let it run all night and I'd see the movies the next morning.The rentals all appear to have downloaded, and they show up in the videos section. HOWEVER, they are ALL marked "Expires in 17 hours". Never started watching any of them, why are they already set to expire? The rental info section of Itunes says I have 30 days to start watching, then 24 hours after that til they expire.As for the purchased movie, th it appeared stuck on the "tap to retry" icon, which I did several times, with repeated errors, until the download icon simply disappeared and no sign of the dowload status or the actual movie anywhere.

View 8 RepliesI have two movie rentals stuck on my ipad that won't properly delete, no matter what I try:They do not appear in the Videos app at all. This is completely empty now.They do appear in 'Rentals' in iTunes/my iPad.I manually delete them in iTunes, which then shows the available space as 6.8mb.iPad Usage shows available space as 4.9mb, however. As soon as I sync the iPad to iTunes again, the same two rentals show up again. Available space is down to 5mb in iTunes again.So - it's looking like I might have to Restore the iPad from a backup. But... what happens to iMame? I installed this legitimately, but it no longer shows up under Purchases in the App Store (I have transferred the purchase to iTunes, however).Anyone know if the restore process will remove this app, if it's no longer available in the App Store? Having invested in an iCade, this would really bother me.
View 1 RepliesI have two movies which I downloaded directly to my iPad from the iTunes store. I've watched both movies now, but the movie covers have not deleted themself after the 24 hour period after you watch them. If I click on them, it will not let me watch the movies. But, they still show in my rental section on the iPad only. I've sync'd the iPad to my Macbook a few times now, but they still show on my iPad.
View 3 RepliesI have a 32 GB iPAD with almost nothing loaded up yet. I tried to download two movies directly on to my ipad via the itunes store app on it. The movies started downloading until they suddenly stopped and it says on my ipod "download error tap to retry" . I retried it and it did the same thing so i waited a couple days and retried and it said the same error message. I already paid for these 2 movies is there any way i can download them

There are rented movies on the iPad "My iPad". You should transfer these movies to your iTunes library before updating this iPad. Are you sure you want to continue?Couple of issues with this message:1. on other threads (http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=11827605 and the Movie Rental FAQ) we've established that we actually can't transfer "these movies" to my iTunes library... so I'm being told to do something that the software won't allow. 2. we're not told of the consequences for not following the instructions. Is this a "it's always a good idea to backup before laying down a new OS" type of message, or will I lose the unwatched rental if I upgrade to iOS 3.2.1?

Now i would like to watch the movie BUT i am away for a period of time and need to down load it to my IPad direct. When i have tried to do this Itunes wants to charge me again for a movie I have already bought. IS there a way of downloading a movie to the IPad with out paying again. Icloud doesn't want to work on it either.

I have just bought an iPad and downloaded a movie rental. 20 minutes from the end of the movie it haws stopped playing!! Even though it has more chapters on the main screen it will not play the end chapters. Can anyone help?

I plan on buying an Ipad soon but need to know the actual viewable area of a movie (wide screen) when shown in the 4:3 format. In other words, how much real estate does the picture have after considering the black bars on top and bottom of screen? I know the Ipad is 9.7 or close to that diagonally. Obviously black bars take up a fair chunk of that when watching a 2:35 widescreen movie though. Could you show me pictures of a movie on the Ipad just to get an idea of what it will look like?
My second question is about the rumored Ipad Mini. Will this device be next to useless showing movies on. (too small) If the big Ipad has a lot of real estate stolen by black bars, wont that mean the mini will be close to the iphone in terms of viewing area or am i getting confused? Would the mini be 4:3 ratio or 3:2 similar to iphone?
i rented an iTunes movie (the bountyhunter) and watched it. it's done/expired - only problem is the "movie cover" won't dissappear/self-destruct like the others. it just stays on my iPad and i can't get it off... quite annoying. does anyone know how to get rid of expired movie rentals on the iPad?
