Mail Stuck On PDF Document After Opening PDF Attachment
Jul 15, 2010
I opened a odd attachment from iPad Mai. Now when I try to open mail all I can do is read the PDF that is full screen. PDF is not frozen. I can scroll throughout the pages I just can see or access any other mail function. I am visiting China for a month and now can't access Mail. Can't get to MobileMe account visa safari on iPad because I am automatically routed to a iPad set up page. Evidently Apple does not want you to access your MobileMe account fro iPad. I don't understand that.
Mac Air, iMac, iPad, iPod Touch
Mac OS X (10.6.4)
I was just wondering if anyone else was having problem opening all pictures that are sent to you in an email? I have gotten a lot of email messages with email attachment with them, and for some reason only about 4 open.

IPad 2 :: Opening MPG File Received As Email Attachment
Feb 4, 2013
I have been having a problem "that normally wouldn't be one" on a PC. I receive an e-mail with a .mpg attachment. When I click to open it, I get a black box that pops up with the following icons that prompt to "Open in":
1.) Dropbox (I haven't figured out how to use this yet) 2.) Mail (I'm already in mail, that's where I clicked on the .mpg attachment) 3.) Documents (All I have to do is figure out where this is) 4.) Documents Free (ditto) 5.) Free Video (haven't found this either) 6.) ePrint hp (worthless, I have an HP "3 in 1" and a Canon and neither will work with the iPad) 7.) Google Drive (This was my last download but I still don't know where this is)
As you can see, I've been busy downloading apps that I thought might work. I think that I should just delete them all and start from scratch with one application that is recommended.
All I'm looking for is a simple solution to click on the .mpg and have it magically appear and play on the iPad desktop. Is that asking for too much or what? Apple sometimes makes things more difficult (or should I say proprietary) than is necessary.
IPad :: Opening Document In Pages Format Results In Zip File
Sep 11, 2014
Trying to print a Pages document from my iPad to a non-Airprint printer. Want use HP's ePrint app. Bring up "open in another app" -- and then I am asked to chose a format. Chose Pages. Then asked for an app. Chose ePrint. ePrint locates my non-Airprint printer, but cannot print. Reason: the Pages document has tuned into a zip file (xxxxxx.pages.zip). Why? If I chose Word format, the Pages document becomes a docx file, and it CAN be printed by ePrint. I also get a zip file if I try to use Dropbox.
I was exploring to see how well email attachments can be viewed in MAIL. I opened one and now I can't get it closed. It's not "frozen" as I can scroll around in it and stretch it. I deleted that email account, hoping it would disappear, but no luck. I don't see any reset or any way to get this thing out of my email.
This has happened to me a couple of times and I'm looking for simpler solutions to a re-boot.I open an attachment in mail (both times a PDF) and then close the iPad or go to another app. When I come back to mail it the document is what is displayed and none of the controls for the doc work including being able to hit the done button and go back to mail. The two times this has happened I've re-booted the iPad and it comes back just fine. Is this an apps bug? Is there a simpler solution than the re-boot.
I've been using the Netflix app with no problems. I also stream video from the ABC player and YouTube. Two days ago, Netflix stopped at the opening logo screen and went no further. The machine did into lock up and I am still streaming from ABC and YouTube

Hacking :: Opening Up Pandora - IPad Stuck In Recovery Mode
Aug 2, 2013
I have an ipad running 5.1.1 OS that has been Jailbroken.
I was opening up Pandora (an appstore app) today and it mysteriously ended up in recovery mode. I have tried numerous guides and tools that report to be able to get it out of being stuck in recovery mode but none of them have been succesful.
I have been able to get it into DFU mode a couple of times but I'm not clear on what technique managed it. I can't even seem to turn the ipad off.
I really don't want to upgrade to the latest firmware to fix it because I'll lose lots of data alongside losing my jailbreak. How to proceed.
