Unable To Use Map App - Cannot Connect To Server

Aug 31, 2010

Is it just me? The iPad Maps app won't let me scroll, search or zoom. I get an error that says I cannot connect to the server, or I get a "server error". I can go to Google Maps via Safari and it works just fine. Is this a 3G only application? All other connectivity works. It's also weird that so many areas have no detail on the iPad's Safari look at Google Maps, when the same locations have full terrain and close-up views on my computer.

POP Mail Unable To Connect To The Server?

Aug 31, 2010

Tried to set up two of my Cox.net email accounts on the iPad and after several minutes of the spinning cog, it was unable to connect to the server in each case. I used the proper username, email address and POP server (pop.central.cox.net) and used the same SMTP server as my iPhone (cwmx.com). Unable to get email set up.Anyone else have this or similar problems?

Unable To Connect To IMac- Server Not Responding?

Apr 10, 2010

I have a Three USB modem in the UK (mobile broadband zte mf112) which gives a good internet connection to my MacBook Air when I'm out and about. I thought it would be a simple matter to share this from my MBA to my Ipad (using internet sharing), but I just cannot make it work.

I can get the Ipad to connect to a wireless network set up by the MBA, but it doesn't connect to the internet saying the server isn't responding , or the Ipad isn't connected to the internet. If anyone has got this to work, i'd be grateful for some help..

Won't Sync To Gmail / Saying Unable To Connect To Server

Apr 12, 2010

I am unable to connect to my Gmail account using the Mail app on my home network, however I am able to connect just fine at work. It tells me it is unable to connect to the server so I am assuming that some settings need to be changed on my Time Capsule. Maybe some ports that need to be opened up? Anybody have any ideas on what I need to do?

IPad 2 :: Safari Is Unable To Connect To Server

Aug 29, 2014

When I attempt to open a site Safari says it is unable to connect to server. The iPad says it is connected to the network and the network is functioning but neither Safari nor email can connect with the server. I have reset the modem and the router, forgotten the network on the iPad and then reentered, and turned the iPad off and on.

Unable To Send Email - Cannot Connect To SMPTE Server

Apr 3, 2010

Four months of trying, and I still cannot send email, either from home or work. Set up new account via iPad; I never sync mail accounts, I only use iPad Mail for outgoing.

I had four outgoing emails in my Outbox. Today I deleted all SMPTE servers, and changed the Primary SMPTE to my work outgoing email server. Then, one of the four emails was actually sent -- but it won't send the others reporting it cannot connect to the SMPTE server.

I am using the same outgoing SMPTE server as my iPhone and iMac and both can send via wifi with no problem. It is just the iPad that can't send.

If it sent one successfully, why can't it send the other three?

All of the sudden IPad won't get wifi, gives message "The connnection to the server mail.me.com failed". Wifi is working fine in my house. Worse, the message repeats over and over so I can't even read the mail that's there. It sort of disables the mail program entirely.

Unable To Connect /can Connect To My Guest Network?

Aug 15, 2010

I have a Time Capsule set up with a Guest Network. Two of my visiting siblings both have iPads (one with v3.2 and one with v3.2.1) and neither of them can connect to my Guest Network.

I tried changing the security type for the Guest Network and even turning it off altogether, so no password would be required, but neither iPad would connect. The Guest Network itself appears to work fine, as my wife's MacBook connected to it no problem.

As a temporary solution, I added my sister's iPad's MAC address to my access control list and let her join my primary network, but I'd really like to figure out why the iPads are being excluded from the Guest Network

Will Not Connect To My Mail Server

Nov 11, 2010

I have just got an Ipad and tried to set up my mail server.I have a server that has SMTP on port 25 and IMAP configured on the default port 143, nothing special. In addition, I have port 144 for secure IMAP and 26 for secure SMTP. SSL is a self signed certificate for a custom root that is installed in all devices that allow it.I use SSL exclusively here and every laptop, desktop and other device works fine with it.I first tried to set the Ipad up with this, but when it did not work, I deleted the account and tried the non secure standard 25/143.The failure message - "Cannot Get Mail - The connection to the server "name" failed." happens straight after entering the mail application. After many failures,I turned on logging on my mail server and found whenever I attempted to retrieve emails, the following message happens:TCPConnection - SSL handshake with client failed. Error code:

Connection To Server - Cannot Connect

May 2, 2010

Both my iPad and my ipod touch have suddenly stopped being able to access the internet. Both were working fine a few hours ago. My PC is connected to the internet fine via my wireless connection.I can connect to my wifi router from both the ipad and ipod and the signal is strong. For a moment when I found my new toy the iPad wansn't connecting I thought 'oh no it might have a fault' so then went to check my ipod and got the same thing -so at least that should rule out a singular fault with the ipad.
