I bought myself an iPad on Saturday and been using it for the last couple of days without any issues. However, I bring it to work with me today and for some reason it keeps resetting itself. Also, should be able to top up the credit for data on a pay as you go when you have no credit left?
My ISP requires an MTU of 1354, and I have airport extreme which does not allow you to set MTU. I can get my Macbook Pro to work by resetting MTU, i don't see anywhere (including these forums) regarding how to do this on the iPad. Shouldn't having all Apple stuff mean it works together seamlessly?
My wife plugged the iPad into a cell phone charging outlet at JFK airport and now after it starts up, a message on the screen says "iTunes". It doesn't completely start up and when iTunes connects, a message says it has to be restored and all data will be erased. All my new vacation photos are on it and I don't want to lose them. Is it possible to get them out without restoring?
I bought the original iPad last year whilst travelling and they set it up instore for me. I have never synced it to my computer because it won't recognise it so it needs resetting. In preparation for this I have managed to drag everything off it, photographs, music etc, using a 3rd party application. I know that I can redownload purchased apps from the app store again but there is one app that is no longer available. It is the original Jumsoft iPad Money and it is no longer available as they have a new version out. I don't want to buy the new version as it isn't compatible with my desktop version of Money (there's a new version out of that too). The 'Transfer purchases' option isn't available in iTunes when I connect the iPad either. I have contact Jumsoft, no joy. Is there anyway I can copy the Money app from my iPad to my MacBook and then transfer it back?
I got into work this morning and saw I had some applications on my enterprise iPad that needed updating. So I opened the App Store application and selected Update All and was prompted for my App Store password. I entered my password and it told me that my password had needed to be reset and would not update the applications. I had to go out to iforgot.apple.com to reset my Apple ID password because I could not do it through the iPad.
About three hours later, my iPad "dinged" and I opened the cover and it is saying my Apple ID needs to be reset. ***? I wasn't even using the iPad and the Apple ID needs to be reset?
I keep having to switch iTunes stores (iTunes Canada / iTunes US) while installing apps. Some are tied to my US account, some to my newer Canada account. Is there a way to reset "country-of-origin" or integrate these different accounts?
Cox cable requires the POP3 SMTP Authentication be set to Password, not MD5 Challenge Response. Every single time I set Authentication to Password, I go back in and verify and the iPad has changed it back to MD5! I. Have NO problem doing this on my iPhone, both 3GS and 4, it stays on Password Authentication. But the iPad won't hold the setting, and so i cant send mail.
I am having a similar issue as others with syncing so I have decided that I will go ahead and reset my iPad. I have many PDF docs on my iPad that I can get off through iTunes since my iPad will not sync. Is there another way to get the PDFs off the iPad?
I'm hoping that someone has seen the issue my ipad is exhibitingand has a solution. I seems that with no apparent time or cycle that i can come up with that my ipad is resetting itself periodically. Started probably 2 or 3 weeks ago. Doesnt matter what is being done or anything. Can be using skype and internet or looking at photos and BAM it shuts off.
When I try to open the iTunes Store on my iPad, it shows a gray screen for a couple seconds (as if it is trying to load the front page) and then and opens the app store to the review page of an app I bought a while ago. Anyone had this happen before? I tried hard resetting it to no avail and don't want to spend hours restoring it through iTunes if there's an easy fix.
Due to restrictions placed on personal devices accessing office email, the only way I can handle work-related emails on my iPad is through the OWA client in mobile safari. The client renders fine, and accepts text input manually via the onscreen keyboard. However, curiously, I cant copy text from any other application (I.e., pages, numbers, notes, or other webpages within safari) into as new email being composed in OWA.As a test, I opened the gmail web app and text pasted just fine. Text even copied into the input box here on hhis forum I'm using to write this request. Yet, despite closing and opening safari, logging out of OWA and resetting the iPad I can't copy and paste text into OWA.
No Available Networks - Resetting The Network Settings
Aug 23, 2010
My iPad started acting oddly on my last business trip. As I moved from airport to hotel I was able to see available wi-fi networks at each location and connect without any problems, however, on the way back this stopped working. Back at the hotel, back to through the same airports and now here at home the iPad no longer lists any available networks. I tried resetting the network settings, turning on and off, manually typing a network name, etc and nothing works. Has anyone else run into this? Is there a fix?
