I tried to update my iPad to iOS 4.2.1, but after I downloaded the update, it said it was verifying the update with Apple, and continued to do this for several minutes, then it said Apple's servers could not be reached. It then put my iPad into recovery mode, and told me I had to restore it, which I've tried to do multiple times, but all with the same result. Is there anything I can do?
When I click "check for updates" from iTunes 18.104.22.168 for my iPad, I get a message telling me that the iPad update server could not be contacted. I have a good internet connection and have also tried from two PCs. I would like to upgrade to iOS4 but can't think of a way around this problem - any suggestions?
So I'm trying to update my iPad to the latest 4.3.3 OS. The ETC is four hours. For a 600MB file. Geez. Is anyone else having extremely slow speeds with the update server? Speedtest shows 21MBPS down so I doubt it's my side. I'm also seriously suspecting Comcast has been throttling anything from iTunes and a number of other services lately. I'd like to be 100% sure on whether it's a problem on Apple's side or mine before I complain to comcast though.
I am trying to download the IOS 5.1.1 and it is painfully slow (228 mb out of 1.04 after two hours) and I mean like one minute to download a meg slow (current waiting time on itunes 11 hours). My broadband is not super fast but other downloads seem to be unaffected so it is not the broadband. However trying to download this on itunes is a nightmare. Is this because I am writing this at 12 am UK time which is i is early to late afternoon in "merka" so the server is just busy with all the stateside people downloading?
I need to restore my iPad, but when I attempt to do so, I get the following error:"The iPad cannot be restored at this time because the iPad software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable."
I have a problem with both my iphone 3gs and ipad's outgoing server. i have 4 email accounts on both.everyday when i try and send emails via either machine it states that it cannot not find the outgoing server. I have found this is due to the detail being unstable. I have to go into each account and re type in the username and password on the outgoing server section of the set up. has anyone had this problem? this only started since i down loaded software when i set up my ipad which included the latest software providing a unified inbox for iPhone. Information:hp Windows Vista
I have an iPad Air (purchased in October 2013) and during the 7.1.2 update, the download froze for about an hour. (***or installation, see last line.) I believe the wi-fi source it was downloading from just shut down (it does that sometimes) but I'm actually not sure what caused the frozen screen.
After waiting about an hour, I tried to turn the iPad off - failed, it wouldn't turn off. So I rebooted it. Now it thinks it has 7.1.2 but I don't believe it does, since it was only halfway through loading the update when the screen/iPad froze.
So I turned it off. It still says it has the latest software update. So far, no obvious glitches in how its working, but maybe whatever bugs or glitches this could cause won't show up until later. Sigh.
Is there any way to undo its perception of having the 7.1.2 update and then reload that update? Actually I'm not entirely certain if it frozen halfway through downloading the update OR installing the update. I walked away for a moment. The picture was: A black screen, a white apple logo and a solid line stuck about halfway through doing what it should do (midway under the apple.)
