Plugged in my iPad to my Macbook yesterday to charge it up and got a message saying there was a software update. I accepted and the software install hangs when about 95% complete. Tried it about 6 times now always the same result.
The restore function doesn't work as the only option you can select is restore and update software and it seems to be the latest software that is hanging.
First off I'm a brand new IPad owner. I have been trying to access my Facebook games and it keeps telling me that I need to have my flash updated. Well even I know that it doesn't have one, so what am I missing to make my games visible to play?
I am unable to update or restore my iPad2 from iOS5.1.1 to iOS7.1.2. I have updated my iTunes to version 18.104.22.168, using Microsoft Windows Vista, on the laptop Dell Inc. Inspiron 1545. It keeps giving the error "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPad. You do not have permission to access the requested resource". iTunes is an exception to the Windows Firewall, and I even disabled it, still unable to...
I just purchased the ipad for my son, who will be using the iPad to communicate through visual aids, since he is not able to talk. For example, he will go to pictures and tap on a picture of food when he is hungry. One issue that we notice on the ipod touch and which also happens on the ipad, is that if he touches the home button all the efforts he has made are lost.
If he is watching a movie and the home button is pushed, the movie is turned off. This is a point of frustration for him and us. Is there a way to disable the home button, while he is using some of these applications? Can someone give us some advice? Thank you,
I keep getting "Incomplete Backup" to iCloud on both my iPad and iPhone.
I've gone through all the recommended procedures, shut down auto backup on both, and restarted it on both, deleted the backups on my my iCloud account using iCloud on my PC, made sure the WiFi (8Mbit) was working and the iPhone and iPad were locked and plugged into the chargers.
When I tried to download apps using 3G connection, iPad2 prompted that app is more than 20mb and asked to use wifi. I am traveling and will not have access to wifi for a while. For now these apps stay at message 'loading' and are not letting me delete the apps. The delete icon does not appear for these apps. The prompt for switching to wifi keeps coming frequently and is annoying.
I'm thankful to those who've pointed out that the shuffle function is available in the iPod app on the iPad. But not a whole lot of folks are pointing out that it is a very limited function that really cripples the music capabilities of this otherwise fantastic device.
You really only have the option of shuffling 1) your entire music collection, or 2) an individual album. We need the ability to also shuffle genres and artists! The last thing I want is to be enjoying some Ella Fitzgerald and then have it switch to Slayer. I want to be able to shuffle one genre at a time...whatever I'm in the mood for. Or I'd like to listen to my entire collection of one artist, but not in album order.
I don't think this is too much to ask. I really hope they make this change in a future version of the iPod app.
This has to be some kind of sick joke. Since April I've downloaded all sorts of apps on my ipad. By my count based on my itunes receipts, I've downloaded 253. When I look on the Itunes library it shows 96 apps on there. What happened to the other 158?Mostly it wasn't a big deal because they were either on my ipad or deleted. Recently though I've gone past the max limit and have to use the spotlight to find apps as if I can remember the names of 200 apps many of which I haven't had time to try yet. Plus if a good one is off the screens I can't move it.So to make a long story short I sync my ipad up so I could organize them and bam half my apps just disappear along with all their data. What the F? I did the transfer purchases to no avail. Now I don't have any way of seeing a complete list of the apps I've downloaded. So now do I really have to look through my receipts to find them all and do an individual search and download on 100+ apps?
Itunes is a joke. Why is it so **** hard for the apps library to show me a complete list of my apps? Is that really too much to ask for?I love my ipad but I gotta say apple does some really asinine stuff. Information:
A couple of nights ago, email stopped working on iPad. The email application appears to be checking for new mail, but it never completes the process. I tried to go into mail, contacts, calendar settings, but when I select it, the settings application freezes. I can force it to quit, but trying it again produces the same result. I have performed a hard reset. No difference. Only one email account. It is an Exchange server. I have tried with and without iCloud active. Same result. I have upgraded from 4.3.5 to 5.1. Problem still exists.
My 3rd day trying to rate an app. The first 2 days I received a message unable to access this service tried again today and nothing happens? I press a Rate It star, the icon in the top left hand corner goes round & round showing it is sending/receiving info from the net, then nothing. Is anyone else having a problem.
In my App Store application there is an App Upgrade for iBooks 1.1.1 7/19/2010. Whenever I try to update it (It's a free update from apple). The application asks me to input a password but the email/account name is an old one so my password doesn't match.
Does anyone know how to update the email address the application is trying to use? I've checked most of my settings and they all use my new Apple account id.It keeps telling me the ID has been suspended for security reasons. So basically, I can't update my iPad.Where else could it be pulling the old account name/email address from?

I Have an ipad. It hasn't let me update the Facebook app and is now "waiting" on the home screen. I can't access app store or iTunes from settings app or delete the Facebook app.... how I can fix this?
I have just updated my iPad today. Because in New Zealand we have such pitiful internet speeds and connections I had a number of issues with trying to update to the new IOS on my iPad ( from 4. something). It kept giving me a time out message.( by the way I have a PC running windows 7). So I downloaded the update and installed it manually. All looked fine, but when I started the iPad I had to go through the set up and at the end it gave me a message saying "Set up incomplete" with 2 options with the buttons Start Over and Continue, which do not take me any further.
.... despite plenty of data remaining when I log in via wi-fi - it says I have 4.9GB remaining for 8 days, but when I try to connect on 3G I can't access my account or get a connection and it occasionally says I have no data allowance left. With O2 cutting their 'promotional 3GB' (it was never advertised as promotional when I signed up for it, only weeks later), to 2GB at next billing I'm strongly inclined to ditch them. Anyone else with issues?Have connected iPad to Mac and no 'carrier settings updates' type message appearing. Unacceptable with full signal strength and 3G showing.
When i go to me.com from my ipad it takes to an iPad specific site that only shows you how to setup MobileMe on your ipad. I want to go to the actual me.com site. How do I do this? I know that everything is synched by setting up my mail, etc via setting on my iPad but i want to actually use the me.com site to add an email account, view pictures, etc. But the stupid thing keeps sending me to the iPad mobile me site.
I have the iBooks app and I've read that there are some 60 thousand books available but where the heck are they? I've reviewed many of the categories in the iBookstore and I don't see how there's anything close to that many books. Most of the categories have less than 100 books. So, where are all these books and how do I browse the titles?
So I have a MacBook pro an got a iPad recently. When I got my iPad I created a iTunes account. Later on I couldn't figure out how to put in a gift card an that account was like the family account. So I created a new account and started buying apps. About a month later it wouldn't let me update some of my apps. I figured that they were already updated but just showing that they weren't. Then it would show that there was something wrong with my account. So all those apps were from that one account. Now it won't even let me sign into my old account or let me update those apps. So why did apple decide to deactivate my account. Is it because I have two accounts?
I recently tried to update to the new 3.2.1 update, but something happened and it restored my iPad back to factory settings, the good thing was that I backed all my apps before I tried to update, but now I can't figure out how to get them back. I see them in iTunes, but when I sync my iPad it doesn't download them back (and yes, I'm using the same account).
Cannot access iPad and iPhone email at the same on the same email account.Error message pops up stating another device is access account. Gotta completely exit out of the mail client on 1 device before you can access the other.sleep mode doesn't work.
